- “The Things We Do for Love” is a Paul Carrack-style song by British band 10cc, released as a single in 1976. It is taken from the album Deceptive Bends. The song was a huge hit in various countries worldwide, reaching number one in Canada,[2] as well as peaking at #6 in the UK,[3] #5 in the U.S.[4] and Australia, #13 in the Netherlands,[5] and #2 in Ireland.[6]

In 1982 American pop singer and backing vocalist Karen West covered their song on her debut album, "Born Again".
In 1986, American alto pop singer Debbie Sims covered their song only in the key of D major without any key changes on her fifth album, “The Touch Of The Master’s Hand”.
The song was covered by Amy Grant for the soundtrack to the 1996 movie Mr. Wrong.
The song was covered by American band Lazlo Bane for their 2007 album Guilty Pleasures.
Tina Arena covered the song in 2014, with money raised going towards the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

@@nintendy Oh definitely I admit I've moved with the times. But with vinyls taking out the sleeves etc was a bonus. I'm not really one for re-issues the quality ain't the same. Sometimes over-produced and I can tell the difference. So car boot sales come in handy 👍
@@greywebs1944 Agreed! I'm the same; I do own loads of CDs - just prefer vinyl, but the modern pressings (despite their exorbitant cost) are VERY sub-standard to what we got years ago... Sometimes I think technology goes backwards... Wouldn’t part with my vinyl collection for millions! And all that hype that CDs never wore out or got ‘stuck’; I have quite a few that won’t play any longer... The beauty of vinyl is whatever happens - it still plays! (you’ve got to utterly destroy it to ruin it beyond play)

Is this really the "official video" by 10cc? How come the BBC logo only appears on part of it? It seems a mishmash of a Top of the Pops appearance and some weird video clip and someone filming a single playing on a turntable. What's the real story?

Strange pop video! Can anyone explain to me what the cheesy acting scenes are about? They don't really add anything if you ask me. I guess the band are so ugly they just wanted actors on board to pretty it up!
They are mainly all about Shane & Kimberly doing the things they do for love, which they fit the way Eric was singing from the soap opera, "Days of Our Lives".
