Love the hand-painted movie poster from the village! Apparently that's a whole thing in Africa - the local artists don't get to see the movie first, and sometimes don't even get any photos to work from, just a rough synopsis. So it's their own interpretation of what the movie might be about.
Darksun cost me my very first job when I was sixteen. Amazing game, amazing reference. By the by I'm a huge fan of your channel, It's the only one I get updates for.
One of these days, I'm going to watch as many Cirio Santiago movies as I can. I'm pretty sure Dune Warriors and Wheels of Fire used the same locations.
Norton is one of the most unappreciated and yet most hard-working of action character actors - he lives and breathes martial arts. He was also personal bodyguard to many high-profile stars.
I first found out about Equalizer 2000 from a video mixtape from Jombi called The Shocking Future, which cut all of Santiago's films for one segment. Now I know the name to this film! Awesome video!
Well said. I think I enjoy these videos the most because I haven't heard of ANY of these movies. Plus, somehow you always have a way of making supposed crap seem like masterpieces.
Wow, we watched this movie back in the day because we loved Norton's deadpan delivery in Gymkata, which is a film 10X as cheesy and great as this one. Norton's crazy character in Equalizer 2000 resulted in him being transferred to a role playing game we made based on movie tough guy heroes. In addition to having the weapon, whoever was playing him had a special power you could use called "car surfing." lol
Robert Patrick actually made Future Hunters after Equalizer 2000, not before it. Equalizer 2000 was his 2nd film. Warlords from Hell was his first from 1984.
Cecil literally loves everything I love. Obscure DOS D&D campaigns, misogynist comedy metal and sleeper B movies, to name just a few out of hundreds. I think this guy is my twin from another universe.
Ive always thought this was one of the better of these. If you are into this type of movie I highly recommend it along with the great code red blu-ray.
What made this gun so powerful that it could change the balance of power? Gun must be low caliber bullets, because it can not shoot through a human being. 4:26
I'd like to hear a rant on Chronicals of Riddick. That was always a movie that I didn't think was particularly great, but I really like it. I watch it at least once a year. BTW, your vids are great.
There's an episode from the original Macgyver show with Richard Dean Anderson that also talked about to destroy weapons ( episode was about a cursed gun and a young teenager needed money for his shot of drugs ) . Is it related to this movie as hommage or ? Anyway i as many others are missing those b-movies the "real popcorn movies" you can have fun with your friends and rewatch them a hundred times . Not as todays b-movies who tries sadly too fast to look great as their blockbuster counterpart . Somehow why Quentin Tarantino is one of the last retro-like producer . Others fails in that branch . I remember a show that aired short with a truck , helicopter etc...was called Highwayman highly influenced by 80's post apocalyptic movies . You remember that little show Cecil ? ( it aired in Belgium back then around 1995 wow )
Been on a Santiago kick since watching all your videos. Equalizer 2000 I think is my favorite so far. Some cool action and that gun is outrageously fun! Karen is also a great character while also being hot as shit haha.
Truly something, man. Side note: A shame that of all the apocalypse exploitation movies of that time, this one has the tamest love scene. I mean look at the cannons on Karen xD!
love my mondays. Good Bad Flicks, and usually a Cinema Snob video too. correct me if im wrong but didnt you also cameo in one of Brandon Tenold's videos? i know Brad from Cinema Snob did. Have you and Brad ever done a cameo/crossover? I think you may have but my memory is fuzzy or might be wishful thinking. Would be fucking rad if all three of you did a crossover video together
Why did these movies cost so damn much? I know you got to pay for cast, props, location and whatnot but this movie costing 500g's....now that's crazy. Great video and keep em coming!!!;)
For these films, its usually just that - film. Film and processing costs were huge back then, even now. They shot in places like the Philippines to keep costs down. They got cheap labor and would often get their stars to live out there for a few months to shoot a bunch of movies back to back. Also, they didn't have to pay location fees. Most big actors today wouldn't even answer their phone for a movie that cost $500k. Robert Downey Jr got 80 million to do Avengers Age of Ultron and Captain America Civil War. The salaries of these actors/actresses is what is going to sink Hollywood.
I loved your new review of Equalizer 2000, I need to check this out. along with Silk. like you I love alot of cult 80's films & theres many that I have seen & many that I haven't. I cant wait for your review for Maniac Cop 2 & have you watched the Nemesis films from one to four?. I think they are such great films & I would like you to review them if you have got time please. also Nemesis 5: The New Model is out next year & I cant wait. please keep up the great work on your UA-cam channel, because I love your reviews. thank you.
Cecil I honestly love your videos and I would like to do UA-cam also but I need to pay the bills and more than likely can’t afford it but you give me inspiration to do UA-cam one day. I’m not sure if you would ever consider it but could you possibly do a video regarding physical copies of movies versus digital copies moreover which is more preferable given the time we live in now Anyway thank you for continuing to pump out videos and give me something to listen to mainly as a podcast but keep up the fantastic work!
i love that the village was huge fans of the movie, always funny to hear those kind of stories lol.
"It's our favorite movie!"
"How many movies have you seen?"
"This one!"
At this point, I’m surprised Santiago didn’t start a post apocalyptic cinematic universe.
Now that would’ve been awesome!
The Dark Sun reference alone was worth a like. :)
Yeah, that was the exact moment I hit the like button.
I just started replaying it off GoG.
My favorite setting. Nothing beats man eating halflings.
That driverless car just made a left turn! Literally laughed so hard my dogs came up to me to see what was wrong.
Remember, in the apocalypse the only armor available is Football pads, and studded leather straps
That's a world I wanna live in!
@@spiff2268 yeah but if your a man your never allowed to shave or shower and if your a woman you need to keep a flawless complexion and hair without fresh water or makeup.
You can tell its the post apocalyptic future cause it looks like a rock quarry.
Either that or unused VR Trooper footage.
Turbo Kid
Or an episode of Doctor Who
@@ladycplum Or Blake's 7.
5:43 The range of that guys expressions was PRICELESS!!
It's good to know that, even in the apocalyptic future, Wilson's Leather is still doing a booming business. :)
I watched this movie as a kid and it's forever etched in my memory
Nobody has sleeves.

"Corinne Alphen Penthouse" goddamn.
Darksun cost me my very first job when I was sixteen. Amazing game, amazing reference. By the by I'm a huge fan of your channel, It's the only one I get updates for.
Richard Norton, Cynthia Rothrock and Keith Cooke teamed up for some of my favourite martial arts movies when I was growing up. Classic.
Saw this one when I was a kid and I thought I only saw these movies, thank you for bringing this out.
2:04 Robert Fuckin' Patrick!
Somebody remembers the XFL. Awesome.
The props and sets actually look great.
One of these days, I'm going to watch as many Cirio Santiago movies as I can. I'm pretty sure Dune Warriors and Wheels of Fire used the same locations.
"Hey, Peter Criss. Any day now". I laughed so damn hard. Awesome video like always....
Thanks!
The Darksun reference is awesome !
Norton is one of the most unappreciated and yet most hard-working of action character actors - he lives and breathes martial arts. He was also personal bodyguard to many high-profile stars.
Adam Poll He was recently the fight coordinator on "Suicide Squad".
And he had a small, but cool role in the last Spartacus season.
I just realized that norton as Slade was also Big Jim Slade in a few of the Tex Murphy games!!! Man those bring back memories!
I first found out about Equalizer 2000 from a video mixtape from Jombi called The Shocking Future, which cut all of Santiago's films for one segment. Now I know the name to this film! Awesome video!
2:06 So that is where "The Demolition Man" got that line for Sandra Bullock!
Your reviews are getting better and better over the years man.
Well said. I think I enjoy these videos the most because I haven't heard of ANY of these movies. Plus, somehow you always have a way of making supposed crap seem like masterpieces.
That fortress they used is an old Spanish walled city that's a popular tourist attraction here in the Philippines.

God damn i love learning this shit about random movies. THANK YOU for these fantastic videos!
This one and Wheels of Fire are my favorite and imo best looking of the Road Warrior ripoff movies. I didn't know they were written by the same guy.
Nice. Dark Sun came out when I was still playing AD&D but I did read like two books from the Dark Sun world.
You got a like for the XFL joke alone.
is that Robert Patrick?
Indeed
every time i watch a new video i feel as if i'm part of a super secret special club :D
Something crazy about this resonates with me.
Robert Patrick actually made Future Hunters after Equalizer 2000, not before it. Equalizer 2000 was his 2nd film. Warlords from Hell was his first from 1984.
Edward Woodward. Holy. Cow. \ m/
Wow just checked out her Penthouse spread - I forgot the bushes girls rocked back then. How times have changed lol. Great vid Cecil as usual
Chris Dooley Dooley. There's no forgetting the bush from back then. That shit stays with a man.
I had to do some research and make sure you weren't lying to these good, honest folks. Can confirm, it's a nice penthouse spread.
Bush and big hair is what makes me love 80’s chicks.
Ah yes, the full Chewbacca, I'll never forget. Mostly because it was almost traumatizing. lol
We have our own desert, they could have filmed it in Alaska. But since no movies in Alaska are filmed in Alaska, I am not surprised.
Good Bad Flicks is ALWAYS a win! Keep up the good work man🤘🏻😎
Thanks!
Love the reviews, and the fact I can find most of these movies second hand for less than a £1.
Cecil literally loves everything I love. Obscure DOS D&D campaigns, misogynist comedy metal and sleeper B movies, to name just a few out of hundreds. I think this guy is my twin from another universe.
hal900x Hey, Cecil is MY twin. Go find your own!!!
I have so many twins!
What about an obvious knowledge of old school death metal😀
4:42 Richard Norton really got careless with his whisper.
"..it got in, was entertaining, made you think for a minute and got out".....ahahahahahahaha, nice.
Back when all you needed to have to make a post apocalyptic movie was a rock quarry, old cars and weird clothes.
Hair spray also helps
oh yeah! more Cirio H Santiago! :D
cecil i was waiting so long for a new episode! so happy for this. LOL
:)
Ive always thought this was one of the better of these.

“Punisher AD”
Think I'll play a little Dark Sun tonite. This movie got on my "to watch" -list pretty quick too.
3:49 No mention of this model work?
And who was that brave stuntman who got lit on fire like six times?
What made this gun so powerful that it could change the balance of power? Gun must be low caliber bullets, because it can not shoot through a human being. 4:26
And then after he was told it was the village's favorite film, they kidnapped him and made him put on an equalizer 2000 play for the village.
Yay, Richard Norton. One of Jackie Chan's best on-screen opponents.
H.D Beird Mr. Nice Guy. :)
City Hunter :)
9:08 The gun!!!
I haven't seen this. But, once I realized that was Richard Norton playing the main guy, I knew I had to.
3:53 So you'd say the got rock blocked?
Yeah Dark Sun! I love it!
7:56 A very fun film clearly the directors best film IMHO!
Another fun episode Cecil
Thanks!
Yet another great video brother :)
I'll be donating to your patreon again this month
Keep up the great work!!
Thank you so much!
Speaking of Ken Wahl and combat vehicles, ever seen "The Gladiator"? Might be just your cup o' tea.
That was a failed TV pilot he did with Rob Culp and Nancy Allen, before "Wiseguy" came along.
As a Filipino I don't know if I'm proud or ashamed for this.
I'd like to hear a rant on Chronicals of Riddick. That was always a movie that I didn't think was particularly great, but I really like it. I watch it at least once a year. BTW, your vids are great.
I'll "like" after I watch the whole-wait, a "Dark Sun" reference?
I don't think a film overdosing on flamethrowers, explosions and gas guzzling 70's cars should be a cautionary tale about environmental impact.
Well, presumably after burning all their guns they invested in some solar panels.
They were burning up the last of the fossil fuels to make sure there'd be no more, lmao!
There's an episode from the original Macgyver show with Richard Dean Anderson that also talked about to destroy weapons ( episode was about a cursed gun and a young teenager needed money for his shot of drugs ) . Is it related to this movie as hommage or ?

Do you think this is the exact same 69 mustang hero car as Wheels of Fire?
Awsome rivew as always
Curio Santiago, Richard Norton , Corrine Wahl in an 80s Mad Max knockoff, awesome.
0:52
I think that is the helmet clamp for night vision gear
This makes me want Fist of the North Star...I don't believe you've done it yet.
Been on a Santiago kick since watching all your videos. Equalizer 2000 I think is my favorite so far. Some cool action and that gun is outrageously fun! Karen is also a great character while also being hot as shit haha.
Good review . It seems These 80s wannabe mad max post apocalyptic movies follow the same story lines with a slight twist
oh how I love you Richard Norton.
this is an awesome episode
Thanks!
There's something about 80s women I can't quite put my finger on, they are simply hot
YoStu Probably the fact that they didn't look photoshoped.
Truly something, man.
Side note: A shame that of all the apocalypse exploitation movies of that time, this one has the tamest love scene. I mean look at the cannons on Karen xD!
funny story i actually met kevin sorbo nicest guy he signed my hercules season one
wow havent seen this in over 20 years :)
Good episode, how about a video exploring Repo Man (1984)?
TheAutistWhisperer With Harry Dean Stanton's recent passing, I'd go for it. :)
Yes!!!!!!!
I saw "Winchester '73". I reckon it's pretty good.
I've seen it described as a "western noir", so will have to watch it at some point.
Never seen *Silk* - such a shame there's not more with Cec Verrell in it, she was fantastic (and stunningly beautiful) in *Hell comes to Frogtown*

I'd have that gun. A post apocalyptic game needs this as a DLC.

500,000 dollars is nothing.
Look at book of eli.
Denzel Washington got 20 million dollars for that film.
20 million dollars.
Thomas Grieve Good god!!! Dont get me wrong i love that movie but 20 million!?!?!? Thats insane
In addition to the above: Crew, vehicles, transport, insurance, food, accommodation and storage - lots of little things add up.
For these films, its usually just that - film. Film and processing costs were huge back then, even now.

Danger Island FTW! 5:30
Dark Sun!
Quite the cast.
9:36 -- big *hair.* Me thinks you missed something, Cecil. ;)
Also, who the *fuck* is Ken Wall?!
Fluoride Jones Ken Wahl of the Stephen J. Cannell series "Wiseguy".
It almost has a Mad Max vibe to it!
Love the videos
Fuck yea, a new Goodbadflicks
What happened to the future paradise films?
I'm fairly sure the Equalizer is in both Destiny 2 and at least one of the Borderlands games. (I think it's pre-sequel)
Its Mondays!!!!
Last guy in line keeps his rifle: "Now I'm going to blow you guys!" becomes ruler of the wasteland.
Can you please do Ghosts of Mars? Maybe as a explored video... It's such a fun, strange and offbeat movie.
Is the denzel washington movie a reboot of this one?
No, Denzel's movie was a remake of an 80's t.v. show.
Cheers.
