a network definitely needs to pick up Matteo's cooking show, love how he interacts with his guests/friends
A network isn’t always better. Keep it like this so he can have complete creative control
Agreed!
@@bumblesbelle agreed! A network would ruin this. He needs to do a show with Matty Mattheson
The center of the garlic clove is where the shoot grows when it's getting old (green in the center of the clove, may sprout all the way out if old enough); that part is bitter, so taking the soul out allows you to use sprouted garlic without making the dish bitter if your garlic got a bit old.
25 years ago I scored a massive amount of fresh basil - blew through my pine nuts, moved on to walnuts and my last 2 batches were pistachio - it took me over three years to use all that pesto and they were ALL wonderful
Matteo and Katie need to start their own cooking show. This was so entertaining to watch.
Matteo, you definitely need your own cooking and comedy show! You are so talented and genuine!!
Katie really has the coolest demeanor. She just goes along with however things are getting made.
My wife's family was Italian from Naples and when I first met her and had my first meal they served it in at least 6 or 7 courses! They served pasta as a course but I thought it was the main meal!!! I over ate and then the meat course came in!! Don't get me started on the 7 course fish meal on Christmas eve!!
Pesto is my favorite Food Group! Thanks for this 🙌🏼
Quick side note: I watched Magical Girl Friendship Squad last weekend (you stole the show and were indeed why I was watching it in the first place) I really enjoyed it! And now this? 😂 Pistachio pesto sounds fantastic. Must try. Props to your smart, cultured friends. Birds of a feather. Thanks for another one! 💗✨🍝
When Americans tell me "I'm Italian" I'm always a bit..mmmh..doubtful...but Katie really knows the culture, one can tell by a couple of things she's said here and there
I just bought two copies of Katie's book! So excited to go through it and share it with my sister-in-law as well!
Yes we want the videos of Katie and you touring Italy and talking about Italian food.
I can't help but notice Matteo bulked up in this video. Makes me wanna go to the gym!
That awkward moment when two foreigners are talking about Italy, Italian food, Sicily, pistacho and pecorino’s origin like two natives and then there’s you, born and raised in Italy, who have been living abroad for the past 10 years and you’re currently nodding silently whilst listening to them pretending you knew everything although you didn’t have a single clue about all those information.
Godpig (this is just for Italian speakers, I’m sorry)
Katie makes one hell of a first impression. I love her.
I had spaghetti with pistachios in Taormina and it was the best pasta dish I ever had in my life!
I just love you, you make the world so much better ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love how Katie is like All Pestos are Good Pestos.
Look at Matteo's arms! Must have been a gym day.
Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. It is now my favorite pesto! Fortunately I made enough to share with my neighbors, who always seem to know when I'm cooking and ask for a sample. Mateo, I send you love and gratitude for all the times when I needed to laugh. Thank you for sharing your kitchen and beautiful culture with warm invitation. You are only my second favorite person I can see on my screen; my 3 year old niece is still my No. 1, favorite. Hopefully, I can see your show the next time you're in LA. - Sincerely, Vartan
I mean, it’s no Olive Garden 😂
Bwahahahahah. Snort.
Love, love, love these little shorts with you cooking. Amazing & Im going to get that book! Never heard of her but I have now! Thank you, love simple & quick!
Bro you deserve a food channel show seriously
Anyone who can travel Princeton to NYC on NJ Transit and show up not looking comatose is OK in my book.
The gun show was 🎉
started watching Matteo for the comedy and am continuing to watch for when i'm trying to learn how to cook this is incredible
OOOHHHHHH this is soooo going on my dinner menu! You two are a joy to watch!
Matteo is grrrrrreat😊. Plaisir d’amor
6:03 🤩Bronte pistachos!😋 They really are a thing, I love Van Leeuwen’s pistachio ice cream 🍨 they source from the Bronte… idk why but they’re the best tasting pistachios I’ve even had!
So happy you're coming to Australia in Sep!!! We'll be having Roman-style carbonara prior to attending. Yes sadly Aussie carbonara is made with cream and sometimes chicken 😂🤦🏻🤷
And he has amazing taste in music, and he can sing and he can cook and he loves Pasta as much as I do (I know he's Italian so duh he'll love Pasta)!!
I am Neapolitan and I can’t wait for you to go to Naples!!
As cute and as handsome as you are Matteo!! Watching this video, you looked like you just woke up 30mins before filming!!!🤣🤣🤣! So cute. Always love watching you cook. When will you do Master Chef?!?!?!
Love you Matteo ❤❤
Thanks for this, I just made it today and it was delicious!!!
That sounds good. I'd never heard of mint in it before, but I think it would work well.
Hehe I have the exact same microplane. I got a bit too happy about that when I saw Matteo pull his out...👀
as someone who speaks french Italian and german, ur comedy speaks to my heart love everything you do !
Yes she's right! I always take the "sole" out of the garlic!
Please come to Japan and try Italian food there!! Soo many different types of sauce, spaghetti etc etc. traditional to new ones.
I actually discovered pistacchio pesto in Naples almost 3 years ago, I think you can also find it all along the almafi coast, lots of (delicious) pistacchios there 😊
First of all, this pistachio pesto looks beyond amazing 💚And oh my god, I live in Naples and I would die to meet you in the city, hope to see you here (also, if need tips on where/when/how/why try pizza here, ask away!)
I can't believe I just ordered both of her books while I was watching this.
did Matteo's arms grow even MORE?!
omg, I want your cookware.!!
Please go to New Haven CT and see how you think their Napolitano pizza compares to the Naples original
Yeah Princeton NJ.
“This is why I’m not a top” 😭
I would love to see you learn how to make VPN pizza. I used to work in a certified kitchen and it was so fun and yummy.
Bravi entrambi! Niente di sbagliato! Trucchetto per salare l acqua per quella pentola 3-4 cucchiaini da caffè di sale grosso così hai una misura fissa. Ciao
MMMMmmmmm and the pesto pasta looks Yummy too!!!!!!
I am Sicilian, halfway between Messina and Catania, and I can confirm pistacchio pesto is kind of modern, compared to other kinds of pesto in Italy, I heard of it probably in 2006/7, as it was something very localized in Bronte, Catania.
After less than 20 years, as Matteo was saying, you can find pistacchio literally everywhere in Italy and in any kind of dish, both salty and sweet!
P.s. I am desperately looking for tickets for Milan’s show! 😂
I love matteo. I know I am not alone. My half italian side relates.
New Camera Person??? I’m getting sea sick over here😂
Hmm and the strange editing of half second silences? Love everything else though!
Matteo what brand of pots are those that you use.... They are gorgeous!
If Matteo didn't immediately think "Bon Appetite Baby" from Katy Perry when he walks through that door, under that sign, he needs his gay cards revoked lol :3 looks delicious!!
matteo is serving pesto, pasta and body
I love your pans!! What brand are they?
When I was young our after school snack was pretzels and Locatelli.
7:45 this is so funny
it'd be so cool if you could do a video cooking w/ Lisa Ann Walter!!! She has strong Italian roots & is a GREAT cook! (from what i've heard from interviews w/ her lol 😂)
I learned in cooking school that if you take out that middle part of the garlic it won't give you bad breath. I learned that to make a garlic puree.
I loved this and I can't even eat carbs. WTF am I doing lmao ♥
thanks matteo! now I'm hungry
Yum, yum, and yum! 🥰
I'm going to make this for my girl one night, thanks!
U 2 r the cutest
I just made pistachio pasta last Wednesday! Got the recipe from Lydia B. My family hails from Rome.
Rome New York.
I mean the recipe looks good but can we talk about Matteo's arms? 🥵 We need your arm workout
ikr
Buying Katie’s book now…. even though I’m a marginal cook. I do have a the passion though so I think I can learn 👨🏻🍳🥗🍝🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🌈☀️
I usually use either cashews or macadamia nuts in my pesto.
pistaCChioooooooooooooooooooo two C AHAHHAHAAHHAHAH
Being from Princeton NJ I feel oddly responsible lol
I love your bowls where did you get them?
i would like it if you did a cooking video with stavros
Matteo in Vogue
What your pasta cooking says about you in the bedroom!
Matteooooo I love your cooking videossss
you NEED to reach out to Carla Lalli Music for a collab omg I can just feel that you two will have chemistry and she would love your humor
Do a show with Matty Mattheson!!
Glad she brought her own (decent) olive oil. Matteo tends to overt use cheese
my new mom and dad
Matteo . . . amore! Pistacchio ha due C! Madonna!
I don't know why I notice this, but I love that matteo cooks barefoot! It's so homey.
Pistachio pesto is the thing I miss the most about Sicilia.
I am here for matteo's tight fitting shirt and arms. Pasta is an extra bonus.
I’m Sicilian too, and I’m allergic to all nuts. 😭 Need to find a pesto recipe that uses seeds of some kind.
Hello i am sicilian's Citizen girl living near Bronte city, the patria of pistachio here. The pesto of pistachio is used a lot here an if i can suggest to enhrich the flavour you can add to the sauce some minced italian sausage made with pork only or some diced bacon and onion cooked a bit on its own and we had cream also to make the pasta really rich in flavour and the sauce not dry at all.
Graza gang
Excuse me did hear Naples? Can I chaperone? 🥹
Ciao I Love You!!!!❣️ loudn clear and beautiful !! I don't know how to write cool comments.. but I like you!!!😀😀😀😀 you're cool and georgeous 👍😀
7:00 this is way in not top....ahahhaha Matteo sembra buonissima :)
I think I learned how to make her pesto but I kept thinking did you have a permit for those guns? (I never think corny like that, ever, where I even make my self cringe) Arms are looking quite bigger than usual Mr. Matteo.....mama mia!
those arms damn
no basil at whole foods?...im lucky to live in Oakland where i can buy basil at almost any store...including all 4 whole foods near me
All I see are biceps.. I think pesto, basil was mentioned!?!?!?!🤣🤣
I can hear the screams from here, of any Italian who will pass by and read the title..."pistachio" can't be heard (or even read) we get hives reading it. almost papal excommunication stuff
Pistacchio for the god Sake 😁
PISTACCHIO
What’s the Italian phrase Katie uses for pasta harder than Al dente? @ 9:15
It 's pasta "al chiodo"(nail)before "al dente ....somebody like it but is very very hard not common in Italy
Arrrrr 😁
Does anyone know what brand of pots Mateo uses?
No, sorry, freestyling leads to Kramer putting cucumbers on pizza. Follow the recipe.
