- The King met students and graduates of the King’s Foundation’s crafts programme during a reception at Highgrove Gardens. His Royal Highness got into the festive spirit by enjoying a little mulled wine and listening to some carol singers. Afterwards, he took part in a tea reception with members of the programme.

Our King looks so like his father these days - and with that same wonderful sense of humour and genuine interest in people. Such a rapport with everyone he meets!

It's like a favourite pair of slippers - worn in and comfortable! I love that it's not always about 'how do I look' or wearing the newest and latest trend. This is the King's private home where he can relax and enjoy talking to neighbours and many familiar faces.

I'm American, so I don't have a hand in this game. My concern with both of Their Majesties is that they may be overworked. They aren't young. I admire His Majesty for shouldering this great responsibility, thereby giving the Prince and Princess of Wales a chance to offer their children at least a sliver of normal family life. Upon profile when he was drinking the cider he so looked like his father wow. Shining proudly upon the king.

Charles has so often been labeled cold, socially awkward and inhibited, but he is so much the opposite in reality. He is as down to earth as a King can be, and very personable and interested in whoever he’s meeting. The laughter and smiles of those gathered to see him say it all. I will never forget watching him greet the public after losing his mother, and how some ladies embraced him and kissed him on the cheek. That was incredibly forward of them, but there is a vulnerability about Charles and an approachability which is his own. I think HM was touched by such spontaneous expressions, Which simply would’ve been unthinkable toward the late
Queen. Although he is still grieving for his beloved mother, there is a certain freedom Charles now seems to have and I think he is relishing finally being able to do things he has always wanted to do. God bless his Majesty and I wish for him and Camilla many years of good health.

Mulled wine is quite common in the UK - and probably elsewhere in Europe? It's just wine that's been heated up (perfect in cold weather) with fruit and sugar added.

He has definitely grown on me. He is very casual and personable. Not that his mother wasn't, but she was more standoffish. He doesn't seem as proper and more in touch with his people.

Wondering why he and the Queen were not at The Princess of Wales’ Carol service. Very few RF members also attended compared to last year. This was one year a united public front was needed.
Very few attended? Are you sure about that? Because I see rows of them. In fact the only people I didn't see were the king and the queen who were attending functions at High Grove. They didn't attend the first year either so there's that. Find something else to worry about because our royal family is doing just fine.

Christmas is a time when many functions are going on and the demands on the working members of the Royal Family are huge. Plus the King's diary is worked out so far ahead. As far as I know this is a charitable trust
which King Charles has founded training in shortage heritage skills. For example jewelry, masonry, heritage wood repair and preservation etc He also founded the Princes Trust for young people to give them a start in enterprise. I believe Jimmy Choo started vis this route.
