  • In this conversation, Jason and Jeff Turner discuss their experiences with questioning and exploring their faith. They talk about the process of deconstructing their beliefs and the fear and uncertainty that comes with it. In the first half of the conversation, the guys touch on themes from Jeff’s book, Saints in the Arms of a Happy God. They discuss topics such as grace, legalism, pain, leaving and finding Jesus, and the tight-knit community of like-minded individuals.
In the second half of the conversation, they discuss Jeff's book, The Atheistic Theist: Why There is No God and You Should Follow Him. Jeff shares how atheism was part of Jeff’s journey to a deeper understanding of faith.
The conversation highlights the idea that the journey of faith is not linear, but rather a constant process of discovery, growth, and reawakening. They explore the themes of loss, the discovery of a deeper reality, and the role of love in their spiritual journeys. They emphasize the importance of trust and relational theology in navigating the unnerving process of deconstruction.
They also touch on the measureless and timeless reality of love and the significance of language in sharing the journey with others.

Asked my old pastor (before I totally left the cage of Evangelicalism) if Jeff could come speak at our church and he “did some research” and came back to me saying, “We aren’t going to have any of that HYPER GRACE taught in THIS church!”
And I already had listened to everything Jeff had done up to 2014 and knew he wasn’t, by definition, hyper grace so I said to him, “He is an Assembly of God pastor! He’s just preaching a message that is the NEW thing God is trying to do in this generation, like you’re always saying! I think this could be the conduit to u leashing a wave of change God is trying to make! Not only here but in all of his churches!”
He refused, and then went on to forbid me from teaching what I was learning to my youth (I was a youth leader at the time) and even asked me not to speak at our open forum men’s meetings on Friday nights held at my parent’s house! lol
Needless to say, I left shortly after. But not before he burst in to my home and accused me of being a communist because I didn’t support his political agenda lol.

I was one of those people who found Jeff on UA-cam many years ago!
I thought this guy’s not only brilliant he’s brave!
While I was doing the Nicodemus peekabooTurner was right out front and wide open!
Happy he’s getting the love and support now he so deserves!

Great episode. Wrestling with God, He had to ask me, “if I sent you to hell am I good?” To introduce me to His salvation.

A car has a car maker, a book an author. How much more complex is the human. Logic at its most basic reveals a creation has a Creator Jesus Christ the LORD!! Love ya man.

Only an immaterial being has the capacity to contemplate/invent a notion like materiality; by definition.

God wants dialogue. He’ll give you the relationship you long for as long as your words are honest.

It is strange that comments are not showing up where they are posted. My comment below was in response to There is no God. A completely different video. The second time it happened. What is happening to You Tube. Totalidiocy.
