- My phone’s memory is full and it stopped recording. Apologies. Just a quick look at which states belong to which regions - sorry West Virginia and South Carolina. This is based on info provided by the U.S. Census. This is soft spoken ASMR meant to help you relax or to distract your mind a bit.

West Virginia - South Atlantic

West By God Virginia (my beloved home) is the Northern most southern state, the southern most northern state, the western most eastern state, and the eastern most western state. It defies boundaries (and a once legitimate state border). So I forgive you for failing to place it in a particular region. Otherwise great video!

West Virginia truly doesn't belong to one set region. We are very diverse and spread out and each section of the state could fall into 2 or more of the regions stated

You're close. It's the Trans Atlantic accent. They made a fake accent that blended how Americans and Britishs pronounce words. Actors, actresses, radio DJ's, news reporters, etc. were all taught this way of speach. The average person did not talk like that.

I went to red river gorge for vacation last year that’s really cool you’ve been there. The kayaking in their limestone cave was really fun.

Your family lived in Kenosha! I grew just north of Kenosha in Racine! Love that!

Hey just wanted to comment something about Red River George. I live about 30 minutes away from the George and you have to try Miguel’s pizza, it’s very popular. Please do some of the hiking trails in the fall, they’re all beautiful and very scenic. I don’t know if you’ve been to KY yet but I hope you enjoy visiting my home state! The people are nice, food is good, and we’re very different from standard southern culture
I’m excited. We will definitely go to Miguel’s - thanks for the recommendation. I’ve been to Kentucky a few times - to Mammoth Cave and Land between the Lakes, but not to Red River Gorge. Hiking is my favorite thing to do, so that’ll be great! Thank you so much for commenting!! I saw an ad for a clear kayak in a cave that looked like it’s glowing - do you know what that is? Is it just a tourist trap or something worth doing?
@@Nofrillsasmr The cave is 100% worth doing! It’s so pretty and cheap(ish). You can also rent a kayak and take it through the entire George. There’s places to swim, hike, eat, etc at the George. We even have a waterfall which is super pretty. All the trails are very beginner friendly. Also if you get the time and enjoy driving give the Daniel Boon scenic drive a chance it’s very pretty. South eastern Kentucky is full of mountains, hills, forests, and sorts of beautiful nature. Also the people are the nicest in the entire country lol

Love these educational videos! I would add the “Pacific Northwest” (Washington, Oregon, Idaho), the “Southwest” (Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada) and the “Great Plains” states (Nebraska, Kansas, etc.)

I’m Brazilian and we consume a lot of American’s content, as movies, music and TV shows and that’s why I’ve heard of every state that you said. I didn’t knew that I know the names of all US states, haha. I’m dreaming about a roadtrip in US, I imagine such a vibe 💖 we love America. And it’s funny cause you’re confused about the spelling of the names just as we are hahaha it’s a little bit hard indeed.

Native West Virginian here! WV is a bit of a geographical no man’s land. I can’t speak specifically in terms of the way you have things subdivided, but many in this state consider WV “the south”. I’m not one of them. I don’t think it makes sense culturally or geographically. I’ve never considered us an Atlantic state either because we have no coast. I’m biased because I was born in the Ohio River Valley region, but around there it’s pretty Midwest-y, and I’d just as well prefer to be lumped in there. But yeah, WV kind of has its own special identity on the map.

It was a conversation from a patreon podcast called A Cup of Tea and a Chat - one of the hosts live in Maine and they were trying to figure out what states are part of New England.

People who are not from CT only know about Fairfield county which makes them think the rest of the state should be with NY. All the other counties here are very New England

Yes. I was going to comment something similar. CT is definitely a New England state. Fairfield County is part of the NYC metro area, but we embrace our New England side as well. Many towns in FC are "quaint New England Towns."

West Virginia, Kentucky, and parts of virgina and Tennessee would be considered Appalachia in my opinion nonetheless another great video!

Im a new york fan. My dads from hartford and its what he raised me on. His ancestors are also from hartford, and italy finally. My moms side comes from old old old new york, i traced them back to the 1700's where i couldnt find anything. New york fans. New england should become one state.

The only people who say Connecticut should be part of new york are from Fairfield county. The rest of connecticut hates Fairfield county because with them our taxes are super high. But without Fairfield county we are poor as georgia. Dont be fooled by rich fairfielers, most whom arent from connecticut (unless its bridgeport - sadly). Bridgeport sucks. Most Fairfield county is from California, england, texas, or florida. Not even new englandites. So, everyone can stop calling all connecticans rich. We arent any richer than Louisiana.
