I have Chaste (or Vitex) tree/bush in my yard. I had two when I moved in, but I successfully eradicated one of them. The fragrance is horribly offensive. I tried to get rid of the other one multiple times until I noticed one day that the bees were in love with this plant. It has a lilac bush look to it. The one that is left is not too close to my doors or patio so I waved the white flag of surrender and let it stay. The bees and butterflies are amazing on this stinky bush. LOL. There is something to be said for fragrance.
Bird's foot trefoil is very popular with honeybees. It can grow in your lawn like clover or dandilions. It is also a ground cover. It has a little yellow flower. It blooms in the summer
Oh NO! My Blue Chiffon Rose of Sharon is budded out right now … like, about to burst open buds. I’m in 8b (Texas) and it has been relatively warm; but what is going to happen to my plant if we get another cold snap before spring? 😮
If the growth emerges, it will be very tender and soft, so any sudden freeze will likely kill that new growth, but not the plant. It will simply take a little rest and push out its second set of buds in time, but if this happens, you'll want to make sure it doesn't get stressed any more this season as re-emerging after a freeze takes a lot of its energy, so plan to fertilize and give supplemental water if needed. If it is feasible, you can also cover the plant with an old blanket on nights when a frost or freeze threatens - that's enough to keep the icy air from contacting the delicate leaf tissue, thus sparing them the frost damage.

Oh, I planted 4 in my yard garden( middle of my bigger yard). They’re away from the house. I hope they don’t get out of hand.
Kudos to you for thinking about the pollinators! You sure made them happy with that decision :)
Hyssop is in all of my gardens except they hydrangea garden.
I will add some this year. I love the scent.
Agreed! Hyssop is a fabulous plant :)
Enjoyed the beekeeper so very much. He’s very interesting! 🐝
Absolutely! We will need to interview him again for the show sometime :)

That is a really pretty little plant! I have no doubt the pollinators love it ☺
Hi there thanks for the video👌🏼
Thank you for watching! :)
I'm getting caught up on watching previous episodes. I noticed bees liked purple blooms in my yard.
That's a neat observation! Maybe it has to do with how the bees see color. Purple in the garden is beautiful! ☺
