You taught me the most important thing that helped me move to the next step, you want nice full boxes of bees. BOXES OF BEES BABY!!!! The person that I learned from was always so worried about swarming they split back too much to get a good honey crop.
Same as me in the spring, removing the first queen cell I find, knowing there will be more to follow, 2 minutes later, on hands and knees searching for that one cell in the grass!! you are after all, only human!
Thanks for sharing… even your Mistakes!! Just shows no one ever knows it all I’m sure some of your bleeps were swear words … gotta love how you just throw those knocked out combs over your shoulder in disgust
I am so happy I was watching Sawmill Charlies Friday night chat and you were there, I have a hive that had nothing going on and didn't know what to do with it.. so after watching this and listening to you from Friday night I am going to do this this week... Thanks for the info!

*shakes half the bees into the grass... "this is WAY more disturbance than I like causing the nests... " You don't say... Lol Good thing you are so full of brilliance the rest of the time to make up for giving us comic relief like this! ;)
I was lol in the doctor's office waiting room. I had one i did similar on, they were robbed out hard, queen was between the feeder and the outside wall. Trying to save them, we'll see how that goes. Enjoy your videos.
I appreciate your honesty as a seasoned beekeeper Ian sharing as many times myself I am perplexed and ask questions to others, get various opinions. The bees know best and teach us and yes humble us beekeepers indeed!
You are amazing! 😊Can you explain how you have one deep and not a second with winter honey? I thought i needed 2 for a winter survival? I want to decrease to one full.
I just went through 15 splits, sevral looked bad as soon as i opened it, bees loose, food sparse. I thought only 8 would turn out queen right, got 12, not bad for fall.
É engraçado porém, essa cena já aconteceu comigo de jogar fora a rainha, aqui no Brasil principalmente no meu estado fazer só princesas, rainhas já fertilizadas não usamos, o custo é alto porque tem pouco apicultores que fazem
Something looks violent and commercial about how you handle bees. Many times in my yard I think bees are queen less and I leave them to survival of the fittest. Something you should try. Then I will check at a later date, and they will fix the problem. Even thrive. If there are new beekeepers reading this….some of the keys to a backyard apiary are letting the bees be ! No you do not have to feed them. That’s what flowers are for. No you do not have to treat them, survival of the fittest. And remember if you take to much honey they will die. Bottom line….don’t get greedy!
I always examine and assess for diseases. As you can see within this video. Have you no idea how to manage these types of assessments over a large number of colonies? There are certain things that need to be looked for
@@aCanadianBeekeepersBlog nice v.nice a reaction you do forget that was a queen right colony let alone smashing the frames out BEFORE examinging, just jokes btw you guys don't care about afb and medicate otherwise, btw love your videos wish i could work with that easy loader crane on your truck, ez dayz
No scale, no sunken dead cappings. Examining queenless units for bacterial infection requires specific surveillance. As you would know, and as you can obviously see, there is no bacterial infection.
Smartest comment i heard. "Bees have a way of humbling the beekeeper" , amen Ian. As i always say, the bees don't read the same books i do. lol
followed by the worse comment, "I could just assume" lol. Glad you found her.

One of your best classes. Watching since you started
Ops😲Ian I really like how you show they real side.👍
I learned something from the video. Thanks, Ian!
They are so happy they have a purpose again.

3:40 Thanks for the laugh, literally at your expense 😂 (I think I laughed for 2 minutes straight) edit: obviously happy you found her 🙃
Thanks for the video Ian!
Awesome video 💯 🤣 made my day
Love your videos!
Parabéns pela dedicação e profissionalismo.

Something's wrong with the audio Ian, the sound keeps cutting out for some reason......
🤣 I'm thinking Parental Advisory Board had something to do with it! Maybe he'll start adding a bleep for the more profane inspections..
He has received alot of complaints for his strong language, too many fragile people out there. Lol
LOL WELL f@&$
Mmmmm let me think, 🤔 I wonder what the cause of that could be???😆💥💯
Joking aside, I appreciate it. I often watch your videos with the kids in the room and have to make sure I’m on earbuds. 🤣🤣
I bet they will do just fine with some feeding.
Your audio kept cutting out. 😂😂😂😂 Maybe there will be an uncut version on your Patreon! 😂😂😂
Very cool, what is the name of that insulated tarp you are using? Well done.

Strange you sound kept cutting out ! ;)

I winter indoors
You sir, are like the Salt of the Earth
I have been in the bee work for seven years, I have full experience in this work
I am a new beekeeper and love your videos. Is swarming a problem with heavy feeding in the fall?
Ian, I was under the impression the bees would defend the hive and fight the new bees walking in. Why do they allowing the new bees to waltz in?
They concede and assimilate . If they don’t concede they die in a vicious death
You changed the title! Haha… the old adage “never judge a book by its cover” lol
:) selecting a title is a hard thing to do.
You had a lack of drones when you needed them most by the looks of it.
First Impressions Don't Always Tell the Whole Story are words that can be used to describe Tea Honey also. LOL
Tea honey might need a couple impressions to describe it lol

What is that bird in the background? (sound)
It sounds almost like a Kookaburra.
I just went through 15 splits, sevral looked bad as soon as i opened it, bees loose, food sparse. I thought only 8 would turn out queen right, got 12, not bad for fall.
You should change the name of the channel to "Mr Know it all Beekeeper" 😂
Who ran over your smoker LOL
I vote that you leave in all the cusswords. It's real and legit!🐝

Murder!
Crunchy crunchy murder! Ian!
that was a lot of bees, why wouldnt you give them a new brood frame to make a new queen?
or a mated queen?
Time has disappeared, there is no more time to build a winter nest
Why are not adding a second hive body box? You are feeding and there are lots of bees. Won't they swarm??
Single box management. This time of year the nests are condensing. No risk of swarming as they are getting ready to hibernate.
💜💜💜🙏🙏🙏
I get all the work I have to work with you
How do you control hornets and yellow jackets from robbing?
My pressure with wasps isn’t as severe as others
My local university has a program that collects wasp and hornets. Every time I spot a nest I report it and they send students out to collect them
Want to hear the uncut
Version.... we're not shy and UA-cam needs to suck it up.
Well it made me cringe while listening, so it would of been guaranteed complaint:)

You jumped the gum Just a Little
Hey, I'm three vids back. I had to subscribe again?
I've done the same thing and she crawled back in from the grass

oh boy, maybe this youtube beekeeping page is not for you. Everything you just stated is on the other end of the spectrum. This isnt a hobby site

You are way too rough with your hives in my opinion, which I’m sure you u don’t care about
