- Undervolting really seems to be the best option in terms of GPU optimization for the RTX 2000 series. Be it a 2080 Ti, 2080 Super, 2070 or even a 2060 Super, I’d still recommend doing it. If you do it properly, you’re gonna lose virtually 0 performance or even get an increase, while dramatically reducing heat and power consumption.
Today we are featuring the a MSI Ventus RTX 2060, but the tutorial will work for any RTX 2060, even the Super, no matter the brand.
We used MSI Afterburner, here's the download link: www.msi.com/pa...

I love how you cover the Old gpus too. You are a good man. Keep the cool content up. Best Regards
Hey hey old GPUs are what I started to work with! Ofc I’ll cover them all :)) Thanks a lot for the kind words
Mate thank you so much. I’ve had my 2060 for 4 years and have always experienced crashing and poor fps. I played last night and had constant frames and 0 crashes. My pc has never ran so smooth! Thank you so much
That's nice that you got a remedy but PC crashing with stock settings means there is underlying issue. Something is not right.
@@megapet777 weak power supply and he solved it by reducing its power draw, what more do you want? be happy for him
@@kovrcek thats not what I was talking about. The gpu could be dying and is probably degraded if it cant function properly with stock settings.
@@megapet777 if this solved the issue, then it is not a dying GPU. He has it for 4 years, use some logic man
@@kovrcek lol clearly you dont have much experience with computers. My friend once had gpu that was crashing in games but with power limit and underclock it was working for a while. Then eventually it died. I also had gpu once which was crashing in some games with stock clocks but not with underclock. I guess it had cooked vram. I RMA'd it and got a new one because it was obviously starting to malfunction.
Excellent video explaining how to do this. Was building my sisters friend a little i5 12400F system with a 2nd hand 2060 6gb. Brought temps down to 65c for the second option you explained to be more efficient. :)
i had to come back to thank you for this!! i have a RTX 2060 super and i was having 72°/82° at some games, with a power comsumption of 170 watts, and after following your video, my card barely reaches 55°, (54° most of the time), with less than 40w of consumption!!
before this change my case was a heater, and my gpu sounded like a rocket, and now i can barely hear it working.
u did first setup or what he told in the end of video ?
@@jinova01 i made two profiles and i use the first one for heavy games and set the second one as the default preset.
@@Anradak can you give me your profile for heavy games?
dude i tried all his settings, i got a RTX 2060 super as well and i cant get the temperature to drop. I still get 78 - 82°C even on the low 850 volt on 1800 he suggested
@marpap9525same did u find a solution??
Thank you friend, you saved me. playing demanding games, I saw my video card heat up to 82 degrees, but after your settings, I have a stable 70-73 degrees in games. Thank you very much
After half a year looking for a solution for mi rtx 2060 chrash i finally fix my gpu with this video, thank you
Thanks I had 120fps inconsistently dropping to 60fps but now I have stable 144fps
Man this is sooo helpful. Thank you soo much
It's incredible in summer, my 2060 stays at 60c and a ridiculous 100w, 1700mhz / 0.8v worked wonders
my little brothers can't go below 90c lmao he's had it for 4 years and it's a HP one no idea how it's still working
I’m really happy it was helpful, thanks a lot for taking the time to leave some feedback :) Consider subscribing if you wanna support the channel & for more tutorials
@@morgan3625 Unfortunately I also have the HP version (one fan), only after using PTM 7950 and undervolt I obtaineda stable 68-70 degrees Celsius
@@rxw85rxw that is very high! what is your undervolt setting? how many watts you have under full load? , 2060 is very cool running under 0.8v
@@rxw85rxw try down the clock to the 1700mhz - 0.8 - 0.875v ,the performance loss is quite acceptable - 10%-15%
didnt help me get more frames, but it did help my lows, which is what i wanted. i hate stutters and frame drops
Unbelievable it works. I did try before some settings in afterburner but didn't know it work like that. playing alan wake 2 from 75 degree i have 65 degree and still 60 fps on the same graphic settings. thanks !
why Nvidia don't have this as a default?
nicee undervolt settings work for me u deserve a sub
Which one did u use
I went from 85C down to 75C I honestly thought it wouldn't work but it did so thank you.
Grazie mille, sei un grande! Avrei voluto vedere prima questo video, però prossimi giorni mi arriva l’rx 7700 e ho già visto che hai un video anche per quella 😁
Thank you this was so easy to follow
This video saved my sanity. Fantastic work
Very simple, works perfectly, thanks a lot !
Thank you so much my card doesn’t crash anymore😊
Actually work nicely, i just got first PC after 10+ year on laptop. And temperature when i play game went down from 62-72 ish ish to like 49-56.
thank you this worked
Thank you so much!
ty for the guide, u r legend
gracias amigo!
un abrazo desde españa
Can someone please help me. I have the same gpu 2060. And i am copying exactly what hes doing but after i click the two boxes where it says unlock under volt after i do that my gpu voltage is still at 0mV can someone please help me
Same thing happens for me
works great. can finally play all my games now
Fantastic guide for temperature reduction, -15c in 3 clicks
This was a great video, do you recommend hitting the "Apply at Windows Startup" button (Top right next to close/minimise) ?
Watch the video better...
Yes or no
great video thx for sharing
I used the first undervolt and +950mhz on memory, this gives the same performance as before :)
what gpu do you have
Hello. I would like to ask. I live in a tropical weather , temperature here is 28-33C most of the time; i did the overclocking and my gpu temperature runs 43C in idle and 82-85C while gaming, gpu fans are at 90% .. any advice on that or should i do the undervolting instead? Thank you so much.
going to try this right now
So my 2060 super has been going insane on fan speed underload. Will this help me to avoid that?
I followed all the steps and now Final Fantasy Rebirth crashes few minutes after launch 😢
did you have to revert to fix it?
nvm I had the crash as well and I fixed it by liowering the 1900 to 1800 works like a charm! Also the second part of the video where he goes 950 to 1950 and 500 works for me as well if you wanna try that one!
Thanks for help, from Brazil...
with the super variant do you think it would be ok with +450 or 500 memory clocks
thank you i’m going to copy this with my pc i have a itx pc and heat is a problem hopefully this helps
it keeps crashing just from opening up the application of heavan software after like 30 seconds (edit: IT WORKED I JUST CLOSED THE HEAVAN SOFTWARE AND PUT ALL THE SETTINGS AND EVEYTHING SO SMOOTH AT 240HZ
This helped me a lot, one question, can it damage the GPU over time?
Yeah, that's what I want to know.
Undervolting a RTX 2060 is 100% safe and can even extend its lifespan. Less heat, lower power draw, and quieter fans.
Can i use this on a laptop version of the 2060?
Huh ? How does under volting a graphics card makes it get more fps
If anything it’s an fps drop or barely the same cause simply no electricity no power , that’s if your not throttling from temperature
This is just wrong bro
@@mateivlad2308 how tf is he wrong
When having lower temps clocks go higher
@@mateivlad2308 only if its thermal throttling, in all other circumstances it would run slower
Lower temps & LOWER POWER CONSUMPTION means you’re not hitting power limit: the main limiting factor in modern GPUs. So yea clocks go higher :))
yea i dunno what is wrong man! i tried all your settings, i got a RTX 2060 super and i cant get the temperature drops everyone here is so happy with. I mean i even tested the 850 volt on 1800 and i get 78 - 82°C, what am i doing wrong??
why my rtx 2060 msi,in curve editor,in 700 start in 1400,your mine start in like 1000 ?
I got 2060 super but there is no curve editor and I cant open it with ctrl + f? This is desktop pc too so idk why I got this issue? super annoying
hi! why do you use that driver version? (457.51)
How to undervolt GTX 980 TI? AB doesn't have curve tuning fo it. so much coil whine :(
Man i love your videos and thank you im gonna try this also i have a question so i play fortnite from time to time and i have the rtx2060 super and r5500 but i think i have a cpu bottleneck in performance mode how do i reduce the bottleneck without any upgrades
Why bro why it turned down so unexpected my average fps while playing valorant is 200 after doing these tasks its significantly increase like 70fps HOW COME
1:45 is this a drag and drop thing because when I drag it to 1900 after 900MV I still get a curve not a straight line like you do in the video. Did I do something wrong?
Nvm I had to have the voltage monitor opened.
i have an evga 2060 and the powertarget maxed at 100 percent is there a way to get it unlocked?
make sense put the memory clock on +600 with curve 950 1950 ?
What was your haven score
can i boost my memory even more if it works?
Can you help. The power limit and fan speed and core voltage is locked for me. Idk how to unlock.
Gran video grazie, ma giusto per oer capire, perché ridurre il voltaggio aumenta le performance?
Is 950mV + 1905MHz core clock + 300+ memory mhz. Safe for my non Oc RTX 2060? In that graphics card package it says 1680Mhz core clock frequency . I ran this my card didn't crashed. Just asking you is that safe . I want my GPU life increased.
Wish there was a way to edit the VBIOS like you used to be able to in the "olden days" to make stuff like this permanent without having to run software like afterburner 24/7
It saves the settings even if afterberber is closed.
@@visagedelenny. yes.. but to apply it you need to run afterburner in the first place, which is what i'm trying to avoid
Why did we have to Open Benchmark if were not gonna use it whats the Point ? I thought youre showing us How much fps were gonna get as we watch the fps Counter on heaven Benchmarks 😂
? its so you can monitor any unwanted changes prior and post settings.
i got no display after this i was only playing a low spec game 😭
Hey there, could you explain why put the core clock value at -300 before modifying the curve? I noticed you don't do it in some of your undervolt tutorials. Thanks in advance.
Me too I never see other undervolt tutorials do that
@@ohaiariel56 you can compare with the graph of without -300. You will see you get same frequency with higher voltage (for range 700-900mV).
What i do is i overclock at max the card, then i limit the fps from nvidia driver to monitor refresh rate like 120 max andmin 20fps when im with alt tab... and this is the smartest thing to do because you won't waste power... money... and card runs quiet... you can limit max frame rate lower if the games that u play are more demanding... but for what i play i always have above 120fps... so my videocard is on very very low power consumption and fan rotation.
My rtx 2060 is overclocked with 115mhz gpu and 800mhz memory, power limit and temp dragged at max
When I vbios swapped my laptops 2060 to the 115w bios I had to learn undervolting lol. Stable 1800mhz core / 6500mhz mem at 850mv or 1700mhz core / 6000mhz mem at 800mv.
Sadly can't get 7000mhz plus on my laptops gpu memory. I can get above 2000mhz core when I don't undervolt as hard but that hotspot temp starts going up a lot.
I use 2060 super so my memory overclock is 1000mhz. Beyond that it crashes
Can I do this on rtx 2050?
Why the 300 memory clock offset?
Do I need to open MSI Afterburner evrytime, or I just need to do it once?
Every time I think. That's why you check the setting to start when Windows starts. I also noticed a Windows icon in the top to make it load the selected profile when it startsm
my card just crashes while playing after long hours or when I load a heavy VR game, I hope this works.
Worked for me how did it go
@@Hunter_boys_4 worked flawlessly, I couldn't believe it lol
@@MarwanMahdy that’s nice I thought there was something wrong with my card or something but it was just my psu wasn’t strong enough
doesn't work if the card is already thermal throttling, just ends up using more power and even higher temperatures using this undervolt
It does work, you’re doing something wrong😅 If it’s severely throttling, try 850mV at 1800Mhz and subscribe to the channel
help please i follow all your settings but my rtx 2060 crash
bro put -200 memory clock and -200 core clock, thats help to me
@mclovin4328 no use of graph?
Does the same configuration work, with a 2060 6Gb ASUS?
yea i tried it with my asus rtx 2060 6gb dual evo
I ran both bench marks and ended up with higher fps with default settings (113.9 FPS max settings) whereas with the undervolting I got (112.9 FPS max settings) Anyone know how I can iincrease fps? Thanks
Then you don’t need to undervolt
@@Hunter_boys_4 1 less fps to run cooler and less power? lol id take that
You lost one whole frame boohoo😂
can this work on amd gpu like rx 6600?
Thabks man i will use your config beacause i have a 2060 12gb and two cooler and when i enter into a game start the card start to make so much noise jajsjs
ciao, va bene anche per la 2070 super oc di gigabyte?
Thank you! I was scared as my screen suddenly turned black when my msi RTX 2060 Super reached 80 degrees but it's back to normal now
hey mate! may i ask how noisy is your Gpu when reaching high temps?
I tried the same settings on my rtx 2060 but when i benchmarked it it crossed 80C :(
same.
Try 1700mhz to 0.8mv
didnt lower my temperature aswell 86C as used to and fan going top noise...didnt used to do this a while back now fan goes crazy and this didnt help at all
but how does undeervolting your gpu gives you more fps i'm confused
i am too but hey , if it works dont touch it
@@Shaheer-PK exactly it worked for me, like it reduces the noise significantly so idc how it does it😅
temp lower ok , power lower ok, but lower fps for bad luck 😑
@@Micdust._.
* Undervolting reduces power consumption and temperatures.
*This can result in higher sustained clocks if the GPU was previously throttling due to power or thermal limits.
*However, undervolting won’t inherently increase maximum clocks-it just allows the GPU to boost as designed without hitting limitations.
@ this actually makes sense, thanks for sharing that information.
ty
thank ypu
Mine still burn lmao 80-86C max on 1710-800.
I cant control my powerlimit for some reason, could anyone explain?
where more fps
ty from Mother Russia.
did not help FPS wise. Made it worse if anything.
Yo ! And what about RTX 3070 laptop 140watts ?
I have a dedicated tutorial for that on the channel :)
Next up 2070 super!
I have the video on the channel already :)) it’s in my Undervolting playlist
does this also work on the rtx 2060 super?
Yes it does! But only if you subscribe to the channel :p
👍
it fucking works lmao
my 2060 can run CS2 with ~95w avg
thanks man!
bro I undervoltage like you said but the CS2 keeps crashing I need help
ik this is a weird request but can u undevolt a mx450 laptop?
This GPU can push the limit when undervolted, and cooled properly.
thx
