  • We decided to do a little exploring with our gator tail boat and go into some new areas we have never seen. Mother nature turned on us and the water was lower than expected. With that said, the boat performed excellent and got us home. If you are interested in a gator tail package, see Jacks Boats and trailers in Perry, FL for all your boating needs.

    When you got “stuck” in that shallow section, what happened there? Looked like you were still in 10-12” of water?

    I'm in between a 1748 0r 1754. I live in south Florida, how does that 48" wide hold a load and hunt?

    • @TKOutdoors
      @TKOutdoors  Рік тому

      If your going that short get the 54 wide. It will give you more room and carry a heavier load.

    I know you probably get asked this allot but how shallow will this boat run ? My river gets down to a couple inches with sandy gravel bottom you think this boat can handle it? I have a lowe 1240 with a 9.9 outboard and it bottoms out like crazy I can't stand it anymore.

    • @TKOutdoors
      @TKOutdoors  3 роки тому +1

      Running wide open, I can run in just a few inches of water. Sitting still it probably drafts 6-8 inches loaded down. The problem with sand and gravel is that it will eat your prop down quickly. At 250-300 bucks, that will get old quick.

    • @UWPcustombaits
      @UWPcustombaits 3 роки тому +1

      @@TKOutdoors thanks for the info, Im just at the end of my rope with a regular outboard on the river, my prop now is already pretty banged up, I looked at jet drives and they seem to be more maintenance, I rather replace a prop over a Impeller. There is a dealer near me that has the boats but its a big expense to find out if it works for me or not.

      I run a 1648 Alweld Marsh and a Mud Buddy 23 Mini. You can modify the larger MB rock guard by turning it upside down and attaching to the skeg. Not sure if GT has a rock guard? Works great on the shallow rocky Northern rivers...

    • @TKOutdoors
      @TKOutdoors  3 роки тому

      Never seen a rock guard for my gator tail, would be nice for exploring.

    So is that river or just swampy area you were going through? Remember you talking to a Midwestern boy, we have the mighty Mississippi, the Illinois River, and Missouri River that we play on, so it looks a lot different than what you were going through there. We have some small creeks that you can wander back into off the rivers and explore.

    • @TKOutdoors
      @TKOutdoors  3 роки тому +1

      That was two different rivers that tie together and then back creeks off of them. End of the video was the river meeting the gulf of Mexico.
