@@ikadee4923 Yes. It's a _Gibson ES-335_ "Dotneck" semi-hollow. It's called that because 335's normally had block inlays instead of dot markers like this one, and the _"ES"_ in the name stands for, _Electric Spanish,_ (as opposed to _"EH",_ or _"Electric Hawaiian,"_ which was Gibson's line of lap steel guitars back in the day...)

My brother got a reel-to-reel player and this really great tube Hifi amp when we were kids (he was obviously a bit older than me) and one of the tapes was Pink Floyd. I’d never heard music like that and just loved it. When I started playing guitar David was one of the only ‘big name’ guitarists who’s music was easy enough to learn and figure out from a record (I’ve been playing for 45 years and still can’t really figure Clapton out) so he easily moved to the top of the list of favorite guitarists. Never really left, still love jamming and pretending to be on stage with the guy after all the years. Glad he’s still creative and enjoying making new music. And as a girl dad I really admire his family values and love for his family. Not the typical rock start guy.
Learning to play his music on a technical level isn’t difficult. However, he’s legendary for being very difficult to imitate. He has a very unique touch.
@ The best approach is to approach his bends, vibrato and touch from the perspective of “me playing his song,” as it should be with any artist whose songs you are learning. I don’t find his style to be particularly difficult to copy tbpo and there are lots of players (including his backing band) who are more than capable of mimicking his sound to a T. Honestly, I think what makes it more difficult is that players focus too much on his gear (which is not very unique at all and unless you are a just interested in having his exact pedal or delay or guitar is just a distraction) instead of spending time learning how to play with dynamics. So, I disagree that he is ‘legendary for being very difficult to imitate’ and in fact I think he’s one of the easiest players to imitate.
Love to see Mr. Gilmour is bringing his daughter also on stage as a backup vocalist. What a FUCKING LEGEND ! I was looking forward to this, all the way from Germany! Will there anywhere be a full episode version?
