- I tried to demonstrate this as if you were standing in my kitchen with me. I realize it’s a little bit long. But making pie crust is worth the time it takes to learn it.
Once you learn it, you’ll be proud to serve it at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and any old time of the year. #cookingwithauntshirley
I have made this crust since the 70s. I love it.
Hi! I love this video! Your voice is so pleasant, you bake like i do: mistakes are ok, just fix them!
First time watcher, i subscribed right away. I'm 73 and always had trouble with pie crust. I'm confident i can do this! Thanks so much❤
@@GenelleSmay oh that just made my evening I’m always afraid to look at the comments! Ha ha I guess I have thin skin but I just keep cooking and baking!
You actually might enjoy what started all this which is our Facebook group. There’s no ads there like they put on my videos here on UA-cam.
It’s kind of a lot of little extra things that I don’t feel kind of worthy to put on
Of course they’ll be some things that are the same, some videos, but it’s more interactive with a lot of people being my friends on there! Same name on Facebook 🥰
How long do you cook it?
Hi there!
I had mine in for 45 minutes and settled on 350 degrees.
But like I may have mentioned in the video, the top crust will brown, but to stab down to the apples and just make certain they’re cooked/ soft. I hope that helps. Btw, I made another on the next morning, and it was very pretty! I had to laugh and thought of well! The recipe is still a good one… I’m thinking it was the lard that was soft… which was a surprise to me. Next time, I’ll be just suing the Crisco! :)
I have a question can I freeze the pie crust for later
@@carolynwilliams1831 yes! I double wrap it when I freeze it, and then I let it thaw out in the refrigerator fully.!
