    I used to have all of the symptoms he described in the video so I went keto, went back working out heavily (5 reps max) 4 times a week, and started doing intermittent fasting EVERY DAY. Problem SOLVED! I'm 51 years old and this is a recent photo. Thank you for your videos, Dr. Berg! Cheers from Brazil :D

    One of your best videos yet. Very short and simple, with a profound message. I have been seeing a chiro for my prediabetes, insulin, blood sugar, and all things adrenal. And I have been intermittent fasting. I've reversed my prediabetes and all my markers for proteins, adrenals, and everything have turned around. I have never felt better, sleep better, have more energy, and everything else. This video is profound because it shows that high insulin levels is the reason why people have so many health problems.

      Bro, do not quit cold turkey. I was on TRT for about 3 years and lost my job. So I couldn’t afford my medication and I was on 1 cc every 2 weeks injections. I have 2 questions I haven’t found in any of your videos. I started Keto and intermittent fasting over a month ago. Unreal results! 2 things:
    1. I’ve been taking a natural test booster, is that ok doing Keto and I fasting? ?
    2. How does creatine and Keto/fasting go together?
    I hope you either respond or make a video. I got a few people subscribed to your videos! Thanks again!

      There's no such thing as a natural test booster. The only things that actually work are illegal. The best thing you can do to increase testosterone naturally is eat clean, exercise, and sleep 8-9 hours every night.

    • @Zeppelin616
      @Zeppelin616 6 років тому +1

      Devin Mayes Well he's probably gonna say more or less the same thing. There are no magic supplements. Most of your increase in testosterone is going to come from your diet, sleep, and exercise. Do keto to lower your insulin and intermittent fasting to increase your growth hormone. Avoid estrogenic foods like soy and dairy as they're known to lower testosterone. And as long as your test booster doesn't consist of carbohydrates is not going to interfere with your ketogenic diet.

    Good info doc, but it's not always that simple. I had T levels below 300 in my mid 40's and I was otherwise healthy, worked out regularly, no signs of pre-diabetes. It's true that something "caused" it to plummet, but who knows what. My diet wasn't that bad. Idk.

      You might try Stinging Nettle Root. I had slightly low total testosterone, and almost 0 free testosterone (off the charts SHBG production). I am on TRT AND take stinging nettle root to help suppress the SHBG. Unfortunately it doesn't work for everyone (it has worked for me).

      Eat only free range meat, eggs , dairy products , eat high amounts of cruciferous veggies , eliminate all plastics, get insulin under control , go to the gym , take natural test boosters such as pine pollen or maca root

    • @truthinrevolt6843
      @truthinrevolt6843 6 років тому +1

      P N when you start taking test your body gets used to getting it so it doesn't feel the need to make more. That's why when people take steroids to build muscle their testies shrink due to lack of natural testosterone production that is also why when using steroids your supposed to take estrogen blockers (because your body tries to keep hormones level) and supplements for natural test production to not shut down completely. Usually why when you go on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) You usually have to stay on it for life after that.

    • @truthinrevolt6843
      @truthinrevolt6843 6 років тому +4

      P N but naturally increasing your testosterone will NOT have negative effects like that because it your body doing it naturally. "Test booster" supplements just help you naturally produce more. While that make increase it like 40%ish with (optimum results) that's nothing compared to actually injecting testosterone. And as long as you arnt doing that you will be fine

I’m very healthy otherwise. It seems like a lot of firefighters are dealing with low T because we don’t get normal or consistent sleep. Is this a reason to go on test? Otherwise I’m pretty sure I’m doing everything else right. I understand I probably have adrenal fatigue but it seems like the low T is still not getting better....

      Sean Johnson , I am not a doc - but I imagine being in situations regularly where you are inhaling things during a fire could affect the pituitary. Get your LH and FSH levels checked too. If they are low, the pituitary could be the problem. A good endocrinologist could so some investigative work. Sleep deprivation will whack T as well, it is pretty profound. Good luck.

    Dr. Berg, I have no doubt I have high insulin, does this means that if i take my diabetes medication (januvia 100mg a day) this makes it worst? since my medication supposed to lower my blood sugar by increasing insulin? because then i will quit my medication in a heart beat......thank you for your time and for making these videos.

    This was a great video for me Dr. Berg. But my issue is a little different. I was in gymnastics for 19 yrs and or couch started someof us on anabolics. Winstrol mostly but anavar and testosterone as well. I did this so long that i believe i have off set my hormone axis. I have taken HCG and everything. And without the testosterone shots i have the test lvls of an 80yr old man. Any advice? Also..i know this may sound crazy but what is the keto diet? You mention it in ever video.

      the keto diet with IF is easy to find. Dr Berg puts it at the end of every video. you may also look at dr Berg's videos on black seed oil and autophagy. and get a lawyer onto that coach - crimes against children.

      My response is less conspiratorial. The food pyramid is the Holy Bible of nutritionists (LITERALLY). Anything that doesn't conform to it is bad (their words, not mine). Keto turns it upside-down (kind of), so nutritionists have a conniption about it. I don't think there is anything malicious in these studies, it's simply a lack of knowledge.

    Dr Berg, the 3 studies you posted in the description only stated that insulin sensitivity or high insulin has a relationship with low testosterone. None included anything about a ketogenic diet increasing testosterone. There are many studies that suggests a ketogenic diet lowers testosterone. Are there any studies that show a ketogenic diet increase testosterone? I ask because just because insulin levels are improved by a ketogenic diet it doesn't prove testosterone levels increase. Can you provide any literature?

    • @thegamer.__.086
      @thegamer.__.086 5 років тому +1

      inf mda the studies that showed that testosterone levels dropped was when you just went low carb but no added fat in that state your body has low energy while the keto diet. Goes low carb but increases fat to have a source of energy. In the studies they pretty much had low carb and low fat, not keto

      2. How does creatine and Keto/fasting go together?

      @TheDJIVB 5 років тому

      Depends how you feel. Symptoms are key to deciding if you have an issue. If you're in the low range, but have no issues and feel good, you have nothing to worry about. That being said, ask yourself where you are with diet and exercise. You might be able to raise the T naturally with weightlifting and a proper diet. Excess fat on the body of men can really mess with your testosterone.

    Already on keto, low bp, underweight, can't gain muscle mass, free-testosterone is low (very high SHBG)... SO... reminder: *IF you go too low carbs and stay low for long, you can totally wreck your free testosterone*. The *fix* (as per myself and the research literature): *UP the carbs* (carb back-loading and cyclical keto works for most), until *your body* produces the results. Don't get hung up on generic below 30g/d or below 50g/d or some other net carb figures, or you may destroy your hormones and health, like I did. Evolutionary speaking, if we were meant to burn ONLY fat, we'd have no glucose pathway at all, but we have it, so use it (it is required for a lot of transport of nutrients and energy on the biochemical level).

    • @Drberg
      @Drberg  6 років тому +4

      False - carbs increase insulin, right? And yes you need insulin to grow muscles, BUT high insulin causes insulin resistance, which makes insulin unavailable to you - so carb loading creates MORE problem down the road - reducing insulin, make it work normally so you can grow muscle - you only need normal insulin

    • @ama-tu-an-ki
      @ama-tu-an-ki 6 років тому +2

      There are plenty of long-term keto guys like me, who've wrecked themselves by going _too low_ on carbs. That was my point. Yes, I advocate LCHF (moderate protein) low-insulinogenic diet. However, if you go really, really low on carbs for a long period of time, you can totally wreck your sex hormones, metabolism and gut, even if the diet is not calorie restricted. I don't want to argue, I agree 99.9999% with what you say/research and I'm learning a lot. I'm just trying to point out that going too extreme on low-carb can also have it's adverse effects.... Thank you for all your hard work.

    • @Kinta02
      @Kinta02 6 років тому +2

      The research on testosterone and keto is very conflicting and not at all clear.
      Dr. Berg is pretty dogmatic with his approach imo. No healthy, normal-low bf individual who is active will develop insulin resistance from doing carbloads every now and then, especially if you lift weights and do some cardio - which most people who get into all of this do anyways.
