Who else is remembering going on this ride and smelling this memorable scent in the water and then when you told your friends about it every1 thought u were crazy?! Whoever's been on this ride knows exactly what this smell is!
Don't you just love in Disney how instead of just waiting in line with nothing to do before going on the ride there is actually cool stuff and things to look at? :)
I know right?! I'm furious and heartbroken that Test Track doesn't have that anymore....it doesn't even look like a normal car testing facility anymore either, only tech...😢
Cringa 1 yeah Universal also does that. Even though we had a disability pass due to my autism and anxiety. (If im cramp up waiting I panic. For example we done happily ever after and I almost panic.) I'm still saw some stuff that was cool
The BOB BOBY yet it's so sad that so many people don't know it due to Disney not releasing Song of the South. It isn't racist, but it is historically inaccurate.
I remember riding on this about 8 years ago or so...during the final part of the ride it broke down for about a half hour, so we had to sit a few meters away from the exit, watching the animatronic Br'er Rabbit and the bird talking over and over again, the same lines of dialogue, over and over again. It got really annoying, but then the lights went out, and the audio stopped, but the animatronics kept moving. They kept mouthing off with no sound, the jaws clicking together, their limbs moving in that jerky robotic way...looking back on it, it was really fucking creepy o_o
Omg! That EXACT thing happened to me too! It may have even been the same time period (I'm not sure though, because I have gone twice, and I don't remember which time that had happened to me). Maybe we were on at the same time!
Here's a weird experience. I rode this for the first time when I was about 7 years old, this would be roughly 1996. When I was asked how it felt to go down the big hill, the first thing that came to my head (and out of my mouth, 'cus I was 7) is that getting splashed felt like getting liked by a giant dog. Kinda stupid I know. This last September, we went on a trip in including my 6 year old nephew and he said near the same thing. It was the strangest bout of deja vu, and a weird bonding moment.
Welp! RIP to one of the greatest rides ever and such a disney classic. Love the music and the theme. Hopefully it wont "offend" anyone to keep these videos up online so I can continue to relive my childhood after they change the whole ride around. I'm so upset
The film's portrayal of African Americans is racist and offensive, maintaining that the black vernacular and other qualities are stereotypes. In addition, the plantation setting is sometimes criticized as idyllic and glorified. Due to the recent events, Disney decided to change the theme of the ride. As Walt Disney stated the parks are alive and he encourages constant changes to the park to make them the best as they can possibly be. The ride is offensive towards African Americans. Plus Disney caters to a younger audience, not saying that you can't enjoy it, but the younger audience could care less.
Some people were asking if the ride is scary, it's not a scary ride but the drop can be pretty intense for some people. Besides that the ride is pretty upbeat and feel good. The ku mildly creepy part is right before you go up the hill with vultures sitting over you. But it gets upbeat and funny pretty quick.
Its gonna stay the same for 2020 so you still have a chance the ride it Disney is still in teh planning stages so it might not be happening for a while probably not till 2022
goodbye old friend, youll be missed. my best memories are with my mom on this ride... she was ill and couldnt ride many rides but she always rode with with me rip splash mountain
FBI you didn’t almost fly out of your seat, this is DisneyLand. They know small children are going to be riding these rides and design them so that won’t happen.. but it does make you FEEL like you might fall out;)
Super Luffy agreed, the only rides that comes close to the greatness of this ride as are follow, Jurassic park: river adventure, Dudley do right and twilight zone tower of terror.
I’m heartbroken this ride is closing, but I finally understood that this ride was ahead of its time. Tbh, I’m kinda excited for Princess & the Frog, but I’ll always remember Splash Mountain. I’m going to Disney Word next month for 5 days, so I’ll ride Splash Mountain one more time and afterwards, I’ll buy all 3 plushies for some important memorabilia from one of Disney’s greatest rides. Times do change and Walt did say the parks should move on, but what I’m hoping for is for the songs to live on in many ways and for generations to come. RIP old friend
I remember this was the first ride i went on when I went to Disney World for the first time. I always remembered the vultures right before the drop and the big boat at the end. Good times :)
Disney is truly the happiest place on earth. Throughout the entire video I had that warm feeling in my heart I only ever get from Disney world,my true home . Many thanks to the people who post these. Walt Disney World, I shall see you in two months.
I remember riding this in 2007. I was around 6 years old and I didn't know about the huge drop at the end (even though you clearly see it at the front of the ride), and at the end of the ride when you see the pics of you about to go down, I was always the ugliest one lmao.
so excited to go in two weeks, this is one of my favorite rides, although, I have no clue why, but it still gives me this uncomfortable feeling about it... I'm not entirely sure why, but I still love this ride regardless
I just want to say thank you so much for posting this video. A lot of people cant afford to go there, and its nice to show the kids what its all about through these videos thank you so much.
Love this ride! I'm watching this procrastinating studying for finals....lol. Going to Disney in 9 days to celebrate my college graduation! I CAN'T WAIT :)
We just got back from a magical Disney Vacation. My Daughter who just turned 5 LOVED this Ride. It was her favorite and we rote it 3 times. Love Brear Rabbit :)
ahh so many memories, i rode this at least 13 times when i went there when i was 10, i once got stuck in the ride for 45 minutes in the cave before the big drop xD
On one trip back in 2013, the ride stopped right when we were starting to make the incline leading to the big drop. Imagine being stuck there for half an hour, practically laying down with the angle, hearing the dialogue of the ominous vultures with the nerves of knowing what comes next. But no matter how many times I've been stuck on this ride, it's still my favorite! Can't wait to go back this summer.
Disney Dude WDW and Tokyo Disneyland's Splash Mountain have more Western characteristics and the exterior color is Frontierland Western canyon style instead of reddish Georgia looking coloring and the musics are using country-western style with Banjos and harmonicas.
I always love it when we go on this and there is a "first timer" on the same log as us, because at the first drop they are always like "this is it", not realizing how much magic is in the ride, and then 10 minuets later we get back to the station and they are surprised at how long and detailed the ride actually was.
That ride... I hate rides with big drops on it because I don't like how you can't breathe and my family made me ride it and I was so scared I couldn't pay attention to the story. All I remember is the rabbit being tied up and then we went down the thing. I thought I was gonna die😂

So I went on Expedition Everest the day before which had an 80 ft drop and when I went on it was like a piece of cake. lol I wonder if it was because I dropped more on Everest??? I hope one of these days I can keep my eyes open on the drop. I always close them.

Through the ride it started and stopped over 13 times and my group was on the ride for 30 minutes! It was really fun getting stuck because an audio would come on and say, "Brer Bear is being silly and messing with the ride, it will continue shortly." I remember that happened so much it was so funny. But it would stop in some really creepy places like at 7:24 because it kinda looked like they were on drugs or something lol. If you notice every figure "set/area" it kinda got creepier and creepier.......
Haven't been on this ride for over a decade. I rmemeber my sister, my dad and I all got on this ride at night and the thunderstorm effects on the drop. Ah, what a memory.
Never road on this as every time I've been there's been like a four hour wait on it. Watching this has got to be one of the longest rides of any theme park, that thing just doesn't end.
10:05 Pretty genius for the ride to pause here. With how harsh the lines get, I doubt anyone wants to find themselves trapped in the "Zippedy Doo Dah" room. They'd probably go mad.
We will be riding this on May 30 for the first time. This will be my very first trip to the WDW Resort and Parks and my spouse went to Epcot 15 years ago or so. We are very excited to compare WDW with Disneyland. I love how you sit side by side on WDW's Splash Mtn and not all in a row as with DL's. :-) Great video. Thanks for sharing.
I remember when I went to Disney World this year in earlier February. I was obsessed with Superntaural at the time, so at the big drop I decided to scream "I love you Dean Winchester!" And my family was so confused. I was a weird 14 year old.
I've never been to DisneyWORLD but I've been to DisneyLAND multiple times. It's so crazy how this ride looks totally similar as the one in Disneyland. Same route and everything. The only thing different is how the decorations are set up! Hope to come here some day :)
Only been to dis rly once first time last year I was dying to ride this and it was broke down going this year and gonna fast pass it hopefully it will be working
Fantastic video, thanks for posting. This version at Disney World really puts the original at Disneyland to shame. Sometimes the first version is the best (e.g., Pirates at DL, ToT at DHS), but sometimes Disney gets it right the second time around. This ride is a great example of the latter. Can't wait for my next ride!
I been to Orlando Florida I went on Splash Mountain in 2010 good times. I remember when my brother and I were all the way in the front seat my brother was standing up for each drop we were going down to on the last one my brother got his cell phone wet but it did not break. I miss Orlando Florida. I will never forget that place. Hope i go back there really soon
Thank you soo much for posting this video, this brings back so many memories. I went on this a couple of years ago, and I almost forgot how fun it was until I watched this!!
Go during the parades too. Another really good time to go. I went during one and I didn't have to wait at all. I literally got off the ride and hopped right back on. (:
It's quick and painless, plus your photo's taken at that point. You expect the drop when you see the ride, and to some degree when your starting it, but when you get to the climax of the ride/story, you can tell the drop is coming, and it fits into the story very well. There are mini-drops that, well, prep you for the 5-6 story drop at the end (it changes from park to park), but their nothing to fret about. This is my favorite ride of all time, regardless of season. Winter + SM = BRING IT ON!!!!
+Ebony TV actually Disney world was first, Disney land was second and Tokyo Disney was the final. Disney himself intended Disney to be : Magic Kingdom was supposed to be a town where everyone lived and worked EPCOT was supposed to be a scientific research center Animal Kingdom was supposed to be a large zoo MGM was supposed to be a movie theater and studio lot. Disney died before the completion of Florida's Magic Kingdom, as a result his children decided to make the Florida property into a theme park. Disney world started construction between the 1940 & 1950 the exact year is disputed as Walt Disney didn't have the best hand writing. Disney Land wasn't constructed until a decade or two after.
+Ebony TV most interesting was Walt Disney intended the infamous castle to be his home. it can be completely shut down if a Disney family member decides so. alternatively there's theories about it being able to become a fully functional hospital if needed, again only if you have the last name Disney.
William Hay Woah... Okay, I'm a huge WDW fan, but this is so wrong. Disneyland is most definitely the original and it's the only park that Walt was able to see built himself. The construction for WDW didn't start until ahortly after Walt died, which was in 1966. His brother Roy was the one who was able to see the Magic Kingdom be built. Disneyland opened in 1955 and WDW opened in 1971.
Yes in California the theming is the Southern states of Georgia plus Louisiana bayou whereas this WDW and also Tokyo Disneyland versions of Splash Mountain have more western feel.
I remember riding it me and my aunt and uncle were at the second drop a big wave came over us and we were super wet.💦🤣 Edit: we were in the front and my uncle were in the 3th set.
"I'm gonna have fun, you're gonna have fun...we're all going to have so much fucking fun we're gonna be whistling 'Zippidee-Do-Dah out of our assholes."-C. Griswald
No offense, but love this version way better than the Disneyland one! Anyone catch the barrels on the right hand side on the second crank hill? It's a hidden Mickey!
markendippi yeah I like this one better but the finale scene on the ride in Disneyland I love. It has more animals like foxes and dogs and cats. I also love the soundtrack of that part.
i prefer Disneylands Splash mountain since I like the music better there, but the effects on this one is better. disneyland needs an upgrade on their splash mountain
Never understood why people put their hands up on parts of rides where it was unnecessary to put them up. Like that person at around the 2:50 mark where they are just going maybe 3 mph up a small hill lol Guess if that really increases the extreme factor for them then to each his own I guess
I tried out putting my hands up on a wooden rollercoaster once just to see what all the fuss was about and twisted my back pretty badly from a sharp turn. Never trying that again at least on a lap belt only coaster.
Just wanted to say, I used your app for my Disney vacation and loved it! It told us which park wasn't crowed and got us an every ride we really wantyed to go on in less then 30 min. Including Space Mountain, Expedition Everest and Splash Mountaion. Next year when I go for 9 days I definatly plan on using it again!!!!
Who else is remembering going on this ride and smelling this memorable scent in the water and then when you told your friends about it every1 thought u were crazy?! Whoever's been on this ride knows exactly what this smell is!
ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
its a mixture of bleach and burgers
@@visionsabovemedia8430 It's bromide actually, the more expensive alternative to Chlorine Disney uses to clean the water.
Christian Faux is that what the smell of Pirates is too?

This attraction is an example of many that make Disney the absolute best! Theming, timing, music and great visuals.

Except maybe the music IMO

It was really fun getting stuck because an audio would come on and say, "Brer Bear is being silly and messing with the ride, it will continue shortly." I remember that happened so much it was so funny. But it would stop in some really creepy places like at 7:24 because it kinda looked like they were on drugs or something lol. If you notice every figure "set/area" it kinda got creepier and creepier.......
They haven't done a full renovation in a while so the animatronics and electrical systems are a bit off at times so break downs are to be expected. ;)
Haven't been on this ride for over a decade. I rmemeber my sister, my dad and I all got on this ride at night and the thunderstorm effects on the drop. Ah, what a memory.
this is my favorite ride at magic kingdom
Never road on this as every time I've been there's been like a four hour wait on it. Watching this has got to be one of the longest rides of any theme park, that thing just doesn't end.
I want to go back to Disney again
strawberry rain I'm going to Disneyworld with my family after thanksgiving Orlando Florida.
It will help you if you just start planning for the next Disney trip
10:05 Pretty genius for the ride to pause here. With how harsh the lines get, I doubt anyone wants to find themselves trapped in the "Zippedy Doo Dah" room. They'd probably go mad.
I rode that ride at Walt Disney world last weekend
How'd you like it? - Tad, Undercover Tourist
It was creepy
Do u have a vive
benjamin king i rode it in disney last week too
Thanks for sharing Undercovertourist, this is an awesome ride and brings back loads of good memories!
I can't wait to go there again! I'm going on July 12, and leaving on July 23! ^^
Brianna Chiavetta That's a perfect time to ride Splash Mountain! - Tad, Undercover Tourist
***** Yup! I'm gonna go on it lots of times!
11 days! Wow! That's awesome, I only stay for 5.
Brianna Chiavetta Cool! I'm going the same time!
***** bad day?
+Matt Schoenfeld (DelawaresFinest) LOL
Ew I found my old account.
Nothing wrong with yelling that lol
I've never been to DisneyWORLD but I've been to DisneyLAND multiple times. It's so crazy how this ride looks totally similar as the one in Disneyland. Same route and everything. The only thing different is how the decorations are set up! Hope to come here some day :)
Magic Kingdom's layout is slightly modified, but they are still very similar.
Hey there
Thanks for sharing your video, very good!
Thanks for watching! - Tad, Undercover Tourist
Best version of Splash Mountain hands down
Only been to dis rly once first time last year I was dying to ride this and it was broke down going this year and gonna fast pass it hopefully it will be working
5 story drop. seriously. best ride ever. just went there 2 weeks ago.
i love Disney world i have been going since i was young
The nostalgia hurts, I wanna go back so bad I freaking love this ride
It’s still open.
The drop isn't HUGE it looks big but it isn't Expedition Everest has a way bigger drop by 30 feet this one is 50 ft
Donald Trump ik it's not that bad actually
Fantastic video, thanks for posting. This version at Disney World really puts the original at Disneyland to shame. Sometimes the first version is the best (e.g., Pirates at DL, ToT at DHS), but sometimes Disney gets it right the second time around. This ride is a great example of the latter. Can't wait for my next ride!
Everytime I got on this I just focus my mind on where the huge drop is so I'm prepared because I'm that worried about heights.
OK, maybe I'm thinking of a different ride. The one I rode had three drops.
travis7310 Timber Mountain Log Ride
travis7310 there are only 3 drops at Disneyland.
travis7310 there are 3 drops here, but only one of them is big, the other are a couple of feet.
travis7310 you’re either thinking of the one in disneyland, or ripsaw falls in universal florida
😂😂😂😂😂😃😃😄😄😃😀😅😅😅😅😅😅
This is my favorite ride at Disney World. I'm going again in October. Can't wait!
I almost peed myself on this ride yesterday
Thank you soo much for posting this video, this brings back so many memories. I went on this a couple of years ago, and I almost forgot how fun it was until I watched this!!
The big drop was scary! My brother was 2 boats away, and he even heard my screams. xD
Is the big drop that bad?
love this ride! One of my favorites! Is anyone else watching this because they miss Disney?
The best part is at the 50 foot drop u think u are going to get hit by the spikes on the vines lol anyone else feel that way?
Go during the parades too. Another really good time to go. I went during one and I didn't have to wait at all. I literally got off the ride and hopped right back on. (:
The creepypasta brought me here
What is the creepy pasta about it?
You will probably have to watch the video, it's too long to explain in one comment. The video is called splash mountain creepypasta I think
I watched it never go pee
Same
Same here thought I was the only one lol
I can't wait to go there and ride on this in August, it's one of my favourite disney rides ever!~
I went for the first time and had a panic attack
It's quick and painless, plus your photo's taken at that point. You expect the drop when you see the ride, and to some degree when your starting it, but when you get to the climax of the ride/story, you can tell the drop is coming, and it fits into the story very well. There are mini-drops that, well, prep you for the 5-6 story drop at the end (it changes from park to park), but their nothing to fret about. This is my favorite ride of all time, regardless of season. Winter + SM = BRING IT ON!!!!
I remember I was scared when going on the ride and it felt like all the animals were making fun of me.
One of my favorite rides...and I'll be on it in a little less than a month. Can't wait!
The set up is a bit different than the one in California.
well because disney world was made first... :/
+Ebony TV actually Disney world was first, Disney land was second and Tokyo Disney was the final. Disney himself intended Disney to be :
Magic Kingdom was supposed to be a town where everyone lived and worked
EPCOT was supposed to be a scientific research center
Animal Kingdom was supposed to be a large zoo
MGM was supposed to be a movie theater and studio lot.
These videos bring back so many fan memories :D took a 8th grade school trip to disney
This ride is creepy. We went on it 3 times.mit got creepier every time. One time we were in the tunnels and the lights flashed. So so creepy
Wow. Nothing's changed. I remember going on this nearly 12 years ago. Loved it.
I remember riding it me and my aunt and uncle were at the second drop a big wave came over us and we were super wet.💦🤣
Edit: we were in the front and my uncle were in the 3th set.
This is my favorite mountain ride at Disney World! Everyone prefers Space Mountain but I love Splash Mountain more!
This ride is so diffrent from the one in California
the California one is more thrilling, been in the Orlando one
mmmm kinda
i wanna try the orlando one
The big fall is exactly the same on both of those falls😂
Obvi
Ones original the other is well....different
This is the best disney ride EVER.
"I'm gonna have fun, you're gonna have fun...we're all going to have so much fucking fun we're gonna be whistling 'Zippidee-Do-Dah out of our assholes."-C. Griswald
You just made my day
I went on this ride yesterday and it was AMAZING!! I loved the drops!
No offense, but love this version way better than the Disneyland one! Anyone catch the barrels on the right hand side on the second crank hill? It's a hidden Mickey!
What's the differences between the ride in each park?
There both the same thing
+Timothy Yang I'm guessing just the moving objects like character ducks and maybe a different set up.
markendippi yeah I like this one better but the finale scene on the ride in Disneyland I love. It has more animals like foxes and dogs and cats. I also love the soundtrack of that part.
i prefer Disneylands Splash mountain since I like the music better there, but the effects on this one is better. disneyland needs an upgrade on their splash mountain
i could watch disney world videos alllll day... can't wait to go back in june! (:
Never understood why people put their hands up on parts of rides where it was unnecessary to put them up. Like that person at around the 2:50 mark where they are just going maybe 3 mph up a small hill lol Guess if that really increases the extreme factor for them then to each his own I guess
It's like RCT3 everybody puts there hands up going on a hill??? like I've never understood the hands up thing
+The Red Viper Its because they say "Hold on tightley "
I tried out putting my hands up on a wooden rollercoaster once just to see what all the fuss was about and twisted my back pretty badly from a sharp turn. Never trying that again at least on a lap belt only coaster.
Just wanted to say, I used your app for my Disney vacation and loved it! It told us which park wasn't crowed and got us an every ride we really wantyed to go on in less then 30 min. Including Space Mountain, Expedition Everest and Splash Mountaion. Next year when I go for 9 days I definatly plan on using it again!!!!
