- Paris Hilton recalled being “sexually abused” and “force-fed medications” by Provo Canyon School staff as a teen while testifying at Capitol Hill about the abuse children experience in America’s welfare systems.
“I know from personal experience the harm that is caused by being placed in youth residential treatment facilities,” the “Paris In Love” star, 43, said in her opening statement to Congress in Washington, DC, Wednesday.
Hilton then recalled how, when she was just 16 years old, she was “ripped” from her bed and transported to Provo Canyon School in Utah, where she was meant to be rehabilitated for her rebellious behavior.

A little girl in a facility i was in was murdered by the foster parents and we were all shipped away. She was brutally murdered. Please people believe her. This system isn't working as intended. The foster system is wildly messed up.
I'm so thankful that Paris is using her platform for awareness about our youth. This is happening in America people!! Thank you Paris for what you're doing and the attention your bringing ❤
I am a nurse that tried whistle blowing in a facility and I was persecuted. I left nursing and cried for 6 months. The kids can’t defend themselves.
I have great admiration for the once lost child, and newfound respect… Bravo Paris, you are doing such an important thing for all troubled youth.. and for those merely labeled as such. Thank you~

This is very touching. How horrible that anyone should go through this! Yet why did this happen to her? No wonder she is so low-key about things. Innocent kids are ALL precious. Does she also stand for life? Praying for her!

Every foster kid i ever knew when i was growing up had been abused physically or sexually or both. By either the foster parents , their children or other foster children in the home.
Too many parents foster because of the money the states pay them to do it. Its outrageous.
I know a person who got 4 foster children in her care… 4 CHECKS!! Fed them with a slice of pizza, macarroni of the cheapest kind, and bread, bread, bread…and the reason she got the children was because a family of her worked at the institution…that was in Aguadilla, P.R…. they abuse those children, abuse them mental/psychological/physically…

Absolutely and still they appear very passive about this. Wealthy people worry about reputation and perfection and then you have the unwealthy who no one knows or cares about.
Thank you, Paris, for raising me awareness and blessing to you for telling your story. This is a constant worry for loving mothers, fathers, and families to comprehend. I pray CPS,DSS, and ALL social service committees begin to focus more on protecting our youth.

Look at the damages Michael Jackson received as a youth and how it manifested after he was an adult, A superstar and quite wealthy. Now amplify that by millions of those who aren't going to be in that kind of position and it's daunting.
