Hi MNikoko! I think you miss something. If you go online and play ark, there will be one more save progress but this time it's on cloud save. There is some good things about this.
1. If you restore your progress in cloud save you can play it on multiply device, you just need to connect your same google account on your phone to the other phone you want to play it.
2. After saving you game in cloud save, the game will not lost even if you go offline.
Bonus tips (tidy save)
1. Tidy save is a good way to make your game size a little bit smaller.
2. If you tidy save your game and exit your game and then log in back, the surrounded creature will be reset and new random creatures will spawn in. This is a good way to find creatures that you want in a single place.
