Thank you, Joey and Tim. I think it is important to note that when one reduces calories, it is harder to meet daily vitamin and mineral requirements, not everything is impacted but some definitely, and Cronometer shows that day after day. For short term it may not matter, but long term it needs addressing. Glad you're feeling good, you look it. Sending hugs!
Having the same ahha moments about vitamins "complementing" my healthy lifestyle. My hubby and are 59 and 60 having the same concerns especially when cutting. it's definitely been a educational journey but w each step i learn and incorporate, life gets better, things become a habit and we both feel better. thanks for all your videos and recipes!
Looking forward to seeing the garden update with Tim. Also love how Joey didn't believe the Dr (Tim) that vitamins are good for you, but how he is open to growing and changing. You two are adorable!
Wow - you both look so good! Congratulations, guys. I have continued with a vegan MVI which has iodine and D, a vegan DHA/EPA supplement and B12 for the 12 years I have been wfpb. I don’t listen to those doctors who say you need nothing except B12z
They could be right depending on what you eat, but unless you are a nutritionist, its hard to plan a diet each day that covers all the bases unless you eat the same preplanned diet day after day. This just keeps you covered.
And health care professionals are not always the best patients, LOL. This became an issue for me as I got older and then with my first knee replacement. Just can't physically put that much food in my body anymore (giant salads anyone?) and post-op, lost over 20 pounds and who knows how many nutrients. I also found Cronometer to be very helpful in seeing just how much, actually how little, I was getting even on my best eating days. If you are recovering from surgery or serious illness, it is even a bigger issue. My other problem is swallowing pills - past a certain size and I am in trouble. I also take a whole bunch of vitamin pills now and need to downsize to one or two. Have been hearing about Complement on other channels for a long time. I think I should look into it finally.
complement keeps running out of omega 3 ☹️, because they are so good. Im trying to find another good supplement of omega 3, if anyone know one please let me now🤗
There are 2 things I LOVE about the Complement Essential pills. First, they do not contain massive doses of the vitamins/nutrients. Second is, as the name says, it's only the essentials; not a bunch of other stuff. I've been taking only the essentials for over a year. I may start taking the omegas, too, though.
You are both looking great these days! Thanks for the info and inspiration. Turmeric is fantastic - I've been taking a combo turmeric/ginger/pepper capsule for years and it has completely gotten rid of all my bad knee pain. Makes it so much easier to get my walks in daily. I don't take more than one capsule but I take it every day. Took a bit to work but has really made a difference.
Oh my goodness, my husband tells me all the time I need more vitamins. LOL now I have to drop my head and mutter you're right! Love this, I'm buying more vitamins
you are looking much more athletic. I can see in a year from now, you will look very different. I enjoy watching the transformation. Thanks for the tip on cronometer.
Before I even realized what the topic was going to be for this video, I noticed how radiant you both look. I even thought to ask if you had new lighting! I also want to add that I have been looking for a multi-vitamin with those specific vitamins/minerals/omegas/DHA. I have been using Cronometer for years, and have the same micro-deficiencies you have observed. I wish the vitamin B12 level was closer to the RDA level, but I'm going to give them a try. Thank you so much!
The problem with supplements is that they are not FDA regulated and they can contain other ingredients that are harmful and not healthful. Who wants to swallow 30 pills a day? Clean products are great and 3rd party testing is a must. Omegas are more for brain protection and no longer advised for cardiovascular protection. I currently only take 3 pills myself which are B12, vegan omega 3 and vitamin D. I’m intrigued by this product and I’ve seen several UA-camrs advertising them now. Thanks for the honest feedback. I’ll be interested in seeing the cost difference than in my current regimen.
Jill, I was pretty shocked when we started using Cronometer and I realized I was not getting everything I needed just from food. I agree that the industry is unregulated and Tim had a drawer full of all this stuff. I don’t trust any of it. I am comfortable with this company because I have followed them for about 10 years so I know who they are, but everything you said was a concern for me for sure.
I am a little hesitant taking combined supplements as the fda standards are so low. I have my b12 d3 iodine supplements in spray and drop form with chia flax and hemp seeds. I am sure my selenium is low as I will not remember to take a Brazil nut once a day
I have not heard that before, but if that is the case, then you would need to plan out every meal for the week to make sure they are all nutritional complete. You could try out Complement and see if you have the same issue. There are no extra chemicals or preservatives in them and they offer a 100 day money back guaranteed. If you have the same problem after a week, they will give you a refund.
Nope.. omega 6: 3 ratio should be between 1:1 to 3:1.. More omega 6! But we do get plenty of 6s ..so it'd say .. omega 3 is certainly more important.. especially dha and epa
You can absolutely be vegan or a meat eater without complementing your diet if you eat all the right foods each day. Ask a meat eater to put their meals in Cronometer. They will have the exact same problem if they don’t make each meal cover part of what they need each day. Most people are not nutritionists so taking vitamins is the best way to keep yourself covered, vegan or not. Right ?

I’m starting my 4th month in Complement Essentials and feel so much better since starting them. 😊
❤❤❤loved this video! Was looking into getting their essential vitamins and low and behold you guys just made a video! I’m sold!
Glad you’re both happy with what’s working for you.
I am laughing with Joey! Before I went plant based I was skeptical of vitamins. Now I know we need so much more than we can eat daily. Love this!
Right? I am always so against change, but sometimes you have to do what you need to in order to make sure you are covered.

You guys look fabulous❤❤❤
Has the number of pills per day changed? It was 4 per day a couple of years ago and with my meds it was too much. Is it now just 1 pill per day?
The Essential is 3 per day. I just do them all at once and I hate pills too, but it has not been an issue. You can take them individually also.
Thank you for sharing. I use the protein powder it is really good. I will try the omega 3
Thats my kids

You're looking muscular Joey... 🥳🥳🥳🥳
Vitamins always make me feel sick or give me a headache. I've tried different brands too. I don't know what's wrong.

I had the same thoughts on vitamins. On a side note, I like you with a beard and some growth on your head.
I’ve been supplementing with 4-5 vitamins. Complement is only 1 pill? That’s great.
It's 3 a day but you can get the liquid and take no pills. I've never used the liquid and the pills are big to me but I take all 3 at once.
3 pills a day. I just take them all at once.
I eat iodized salt for iodine... No pink salt for me 🙃
Are they third party tested?
Yes, and it says that right on the package too, which is very nice
Nope.. omega 6: 3 ratio should be between 1:1 to 3:1..
More omega 6!

Are you guys a couple? I hope so because you are so cute together 💕
Yes. We will hit 20years together this December, married for 10 years. We have a 17yr old son that just graduated HS.
I think the Vegan Gym guy does it without supplements.
They do. They also have a lot more calories to burn. I encourage you to do the same thing.
@@PlantBasedDads very good point!
scary to think its not possible to be vegan without taking manufactured suppliments
