Personally I think they need to make a game or TV show that's set in a alternate timeline and covers stuff like that. You can do so much by placing your story in the main universe, but one where things went slightly different. One thing I think would be really cool is a story where John 117 died in the early or mid Human Covenant war. You could tell an entirely different story that is centered around the conflict we all know well with different characters. Best of all, we'd have no clue how it will end. Show the same struggle, but one that is even more desperate, and has the potential for an even more impressive victory. Now that would be neat.
Instead of pushing the timeline out into absurdity like 343 has been doing, they could’ve explored this or things back in the timeline like events between H1 and 2 or a covenant campaign.
I love the idea of a halo survival horror/horror shooter, the two ideas ive thought of for one would be this or a game centered around a civilian in a city being invaded by covenant that would play like RE7 or RE8.
Need a spinn off separate game to fill in some timline gaps/ perspective. Like play as thr point of view through as a marine or ODST during the normal Voi timeline ifestation before the glassing or any of the halo rings containment breaches while the UNSC took control of the for decomission. Even experience infected spartan 4, ending up like the Halo 4 models but not due to pod infection forms since no red tendrils but scratches/ apore inhalement. Lastly events in Halo Infinite with Flood containment breach, spreading through Zeta halos superstructure eyc
There is horror game in development called branching sickness. Planned to release in about a year... Not made by the official halo team at 343i. But its good anyway!
Someone should really create a full 13 level Halo 3 campaign based on this. The horror and terror we would experience would be unparalleled. This is literally perfect.
I’d love a prequel Halo horror game that would be set during the events of CE where you’re a marine or ODST who’s trapped on the Pillar of Autumn after the Flood are awakened on the ring. The whole "What if?" scenario that's presented in that mod got me thinking about all the cool shit they could do if 343i actually approved a game or show that followed the same type of idea. Like what if the Master Chief or Thel Vadumee/The Arbiter died early in the war? What if Humanity was admitted into the Covenant in the 24th or 25th centuries by prophets who didn't know they were reclaimers? What if Truth was killed in Halo 2 instead of Regret? This mod actually goes into something I've been talking about for a long time. The true horror of the flood in a game play setting. We know what the flood are by lore but we as players have not really experienced just how bad they really are. We have in some forms from halo wars 1 and 2 but not in a first person or even 3rd person game.
Another really cool part in lore is that the UNSC has a contingency plan for if a Spartan were to ever become infected with the flood and it explains the halo 4 game mode
no it doesnt lmao Halo 4 and all of Halo's multiplayer pvp modes are just wargames simulations. if Spartans were being infected by the Flood then Halo 4's story wouldn't have just glossed over it
I'd absolutely LOVE for there to be a full campaign that depicts humanity's final fight against their own extinction at the hands of the flood. Just imagine, you don't play as any one marine through the entire thing, you play as multiple marines who all die in their missions (to drive home the fact you are not Master Chief) to achieve an end in which you either save the galaxy only after so many lives were lost and alliances were formed or everything becomes consumed by the Flood. Of course, I wouldn't expect anything like that without much more efficient mod tools.
This is 343 guilty spark on absolute steroids. The feel and atmosphere pulls me back directly to the beginning of that mission with the same Erie atmosphere
Imagine a full campaign for this. A lone marine shooting his way to Crow's nest, rallying with what's left of the region's forces, not much... they leave via Warthogs along Tsavo Highway, running from infected infiltrators until they meet up with the Arbiter. Together, the remains of the UNSC and the Arbiter's forces make their way to the Ark to confront the Gravemind and save the rest of Earth from the infection.

It would be nice to have a version of the halo 3 campaign where chief doesn't wake up and player 1 is sgt Johnson; instead and he, Arbiter, n'tho and uzse go through the campaign normally apart from Johnson not being imprisoned with his squad. This continues until the mission flood gate which instead happens as originally planned and they blow up the ship, although they find Cortana's message and spark (who recognizes thel and Johnson from installation 05) who accompanies you for the rest of the mission. After the ship's destruction they don't glass Mombasa. they go to the ark. on the ark mendicant bias talks directly to the player just like cortana or the gravemind and tells them not to trust the flood. spark tells Johnson and co about the logic plague, meaning that they have to find Cortana or risk vital info falling into flood hands. during truth's final two cutscenes it is revealed that truth was partially infected by the flood and has gone mad (explaining truth's voice recasting), Keyes' half dead body is used to initiate the process by truth but thel kills him and as the grave mind emerges it hauls aloft Keyes' body and absorbs it to gain the knowledge of unsc battle plans, they decide to destroy the ark. What would have been the icing on the cake was instead of an infected marine attacking you at the end of this, if it was the chief instead. This is still amazing work though
Absolutely amazing it's a good what if scenario and the way it didn't hold back on being dark and gruesome is a testament to the developers skill and I think the fact it was short also helped
It would be nice for a continuation of this mod, where you play as arbiter and you have to save Sgt Johnson and the remaining marines from the flood and EVAC them to the crows nest , while other elites are accompanying you as well
I can only hope that mods like this get support from 343 or 343 even starts exploring "what if" scenrios/ one off stories for campaign since Halo Infinite is supposed to be a 10 year project.
Funny how mod normal better then 343 game but is good to see alternative timeline that be good to me shame we never see 343 marine spin of point view xD
i really like this, however i would personally if i was the creator would dabble in some psychological horror with maybe some sort of queued event of hearing chief get infected and the ungodly scream that noise would probably be to get hit by out of nowhere, and then as the player eventually seeing the mutilated twitching husk of the hero john violently hunt you down like a brute on cracked steroids and having it fuck with you emotionally while you desperately run for your goddamn life, its such one of many missed opportunities i would've added to this spicy mod, not trying to nark im just excited at this interesting idea application lol
Honestly I would of loved to see this story but expanded with Arbiter and Johnson as the main characters. Unable to get in contact outside earth and have to find marines stationed on earth to find a way out horrorifc levels.
This is off topic, but I wonder what it would take to sorta remaster Halo CEA. I'm talking Halo Combat evolved anniversary anniversary! The darkest hako timeline is a timeline where Halo doesn't exist.
I knew it unscmc is cooler than playing as a Spartan.
Being squishy adds a chaotic atmosphere lost as a Spartan.
Chied just wanted a extra nap knowing the flood was coming
The darkest timeline is literally just the tv show
I was expecting flood chief to show up at the end
the use of the already in game dialouge is amazing
I like that even in mods, rocket flood are a problem.
It would be cool that there was some boss on the Zombie mod that was Master Chief infected or something like that
I like how a broken visor is a universal sign for “spartan dead”
Probably died bc the marines didn’t find him in time bc both the Landfall ODST’s were KIA before they complete the mission
this mod is fantastic but there's one question about this mod where's arbiter he didn't shows up in this mod that very weird
Ok but what about the Arbiter?
It would be nice for a continuation of this mod, where you play as arbiter and you have to save Sgt Johnson and the remaining marines from the flood and EVAC them to the crows nest , while other elites are accompanying you as well
Hes crying About the chief or sleeping waiting to show up on the morning like he will do on real cutsene
If only 343 were capable of creativity
No fucking way… rejected shotgun!? I’m so happy he’s making halo videos
I can only hope that mods like this get support from 343 or 343 even starts exploring "what if" scenrios/ one off stories for campaign since Halo Infinite is supposed to be a 10 year project.
This is proof that a halo horror like game could work
I'd love for there to be a halo horror game where you play as a normal soldier trying to escape the flood.
This is like a creepypasta
we need more mods these are so good bro
“Chief, why do you keep respawning when you die?”
“because.”
Funny how mod normal better then 343 game but is good to see alternative timeline that be good to me shame we never see 343 marine spin of point view xD
i really like this, however i would personally if i was the creator would dabble in some psychological horror with maybe some sort of queued event of hearing chief get infected and the ungodly scream that noise would probably be to get hit by out of nowhere, and then as the player eventually seeing the mutilated twitching husk of the hero john violently hunt you down like a brute on cracked steroids and having it fuck with you emotionally while you desperately run for your goddamn life, its such one of many missed opportunities i would've added to this spicy mod, not trying to nark im just excited at this interesting idea application lol
this is what id imagine if 343 were to ever make a horror halo game
I'd want to see an alternate timeline where the great schism never happens.
Honestly I would of loved to see this story but expanded with Arbiter and Johnson as the main characters. Unable to get in contact outside earth and have to find marines stationed on earth to find a way out horrorifc levels.
This gives me hope that one day we’ll see Chips and Stacker go on wacky adventures. Alternatively, a fan made contact harvest.
I though it was gonna end with a flood infected master chief wiping out the squad of marines
This is off topic, but I wonder what it would take to sorta remaster Halo CEA. I'm talking Halo Combat evolved anniversary anniversary!
Replace some models with Halo 2A models, make the colors cooler, the lighting darker, fix 343 guilty spark, and just generally make it more faithful to the original. And if it could be done, could it be done without disabling MP?
You know the flood is going to find chief in the first 15 minutes of their spread.
3:50 "take them down men! Short burst!"
An Alien quote. Great. 😌👌
alternate 2552 to 2553. damn, the flood arriving earlier than expected. The Master Chief not waking up, This would be the perfect setting for a Halo 3 horror movie.
