I have followed this channel and Colette’s blog for many years and I am in constant awe of the carefully thought out decisions made by Colette, with each one being mindful of her family and Mother Earth. I for one am pleased to see that the changes are done to allow for continued joy, happiness and family life! Colette thank you for sharing the joy of bealtaine with us all! Many blessings to you and your family x
Aww..Patsy sure loves you ! You are so right about what mothers will do..😉 Being in northern Wisconsin, USA, a bit jealous of your mild winters.. not gonna lie 😊
Thank you for such a beautiful and sensitive explanation of your compost loo situation Colette. As many have said, its truly none of our business, but having followed your journey for so long, I'm sure many, like me, were interested in the change. Apologies if you felt it was intrusive, personally I just love you talking about compooost so I'm glad its still going strong outside! ❤
Hi colette, I have only ever sent a few comments as I know you have hundreds to get through, but this morning, I just had to message. I have watched your whole playlist with approx 275 videos from over 10 years ago and have been addicted and amazed at what you have done. This morning I watched your interview on a far reach film and also the 3 minute short film too. It made me so emotional I was in tears. You are truly amazing. What you have created is definitely a garden of Eden and every single one of us should be thanking you for what you have done. I appreciate what you have taught us through your videos and I personally wanted to thank you for what you have built. Many of us have people we look up to colette. I definitely choose you . I'm 52, and I only wish I had found you many many years ago, because I knew nothing about growing anything. I just bought what I liked and hoped for the best. Mother earth is so lucky to have you, your children are so lucky too, you're amazing! Us viewers are also very lucky to have you here. Thank you colette. Are you able to mention the interview on one of your videos and put a link? I bet many don't know it's there like me. What an emotional interview and short film. Just beautiful! Im sending so Much love to you. Davena xx
Thankyou for taking the time to explain the compost loo situation for us, Colette. I also wondered what had happened to it, but now you've mentioned the grandchildren I understand entirely! As parents and grandparents, one of the biggest blessings we learn is loving compromise
I totally understand your bathroom decision collette.i would just like to say, if I wasn't scared of flying, I would pay to have a little retreat . Even in your cosy side room. Just to know I could walk around and sit amongst the beauty you have created. To listen to the birds, and the breeze helping the wind chimes make their lovely sounds. I will admit to enjoying a nice thunderstorm too. I will make do instead with listening for your postings :) and live it all vicariously. Blessings to you Collette and your loved ones.

You don’t need to explain about the loo …. it’s your business (sorry couldn’t resist). You are absolutely right to future proof your home and your lifestyle, to suit your needs and I commend you for that. Hopefully you will never have to leave your lovely home …. so things need to be manageable. It’s all about priorities … and your family and your own health and well-being are yours. Enjoy the autumn 😊
Hi Collette I’ve been following your channel now for about six or seven years and it never fails to amaze me how you have, through years of hard work, enabled the most beautiful woodland to flourish from land that was used and abused. I had no idea that a fuchsia bush could grow that big. I always find it sad that some folks on these platforms feel the need to make, as we say here in Scotland, sleeket comments and try to pass them off as observations!! It must have been a wonderful Samhain for you and your family. Blessings to you all ❤
Hi Collette yes I agree as woman and mothers we do try our best for our families. I love your books and love all you’ve achieved it’s brilliant and I truly aspire to you thank you for allowing us a peak into Bealtaine ❤
I love your outfit. You look toasty warm.😊 Beautiful coffee table. Yes, as mothers and grandmothers, we do a lot of accommodation for our much loved family members. This year is my year to host our family Christmas, and I am adjusting some little things for a 7 year old and a 4 year old. Two little boys full of energy and curiosity. So I'm trying to keep the garden in tip top order in the hope they can go out and have a run about. Glad you had a lovely birthday 🎁. Your new cushion covers are lovely, real warm and festive. I’m always ooohing and awwing over little Patsy 🐶 bless her 🦋
Thank you for sharing, Colette. Some people can be very rude. Your decisions to do this or that are personal and no one's business. Your new pillows are quite cute. Your sitting room looks cozy and inviting. Blessings to you and Patsy. Take care. ❤
That made me laugh so much 😂.. About your grandmother... "with 9 grandchildren all under one roof,, she felt the need to bless herself on the way in" "😱🤣🤣🤣great content as always,,Collette,,,, love the coffee table,,, looks like it's alway been there. 👌🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🎃🦇🙏BLESSINGS to you my friend 🙏
Happy Happy birthday Colette!! Hope you had a wonderful day with friends and family!! It is a wonderful time of the year!! Love it too!! Thanks for sharing!! Sending blessings!! ❤ Your friend across the pond Carolyn
Love the bunting and bedding in your bedroom! And Patsy was cracking me up… so adorable. Colette, is the water from your spring well drinkable? I forgot what you said about that in the past. I love the stream and pond it’s created, would love to see them both again at this time of year when you’re out filming. Have a lovely week. 🌺
My sister is a scorpio born November 16th!! We both love traditions!! Passing it on to my neice and nephew!! Your land looks absolutely beautiful!! I love the smells of the fall!! My favorite thing is to walk in the woods!! ❤ Thanks for sharing!! ❤ Your friend across the pond Carolyn
You are so right to be thinking about how one might manage a garden (and for you a substantial acreage) as you age. I will be 78 soon and have lived and gardened here for 40 plus years now. Suddenly I see the need to keep things trimmed down a bit more than before since I am concerned about climbing around on ladders and such. Just some easy things to do now to make living with the plantings that you have to take care of in the future. I do just about all of the 'taking care of" outdoor things myself with a little help with heavy things from my husband and son but most of the work is mine. That's fine by me but I can foresee a time when I won't have the muscle mass or energy to do some things as before and as I said just don't like to be climbing (tottering) around fussing with an overgrown yew or viburnum unless I just have to. Right now I am in the middle of raking pine needles and storing them for mulching next spring and raking tons and tons of leaves, shredding thing and putting some directly on flower beds and storing the rest for next season. A couple of days of very windy weather brought the whole caboodle down at once (usually the pine needles come down and can be raked, and after that the leaves begin to come down it seems more manageable with that scenario so this altogether stuff makes for a big job but taken a bit at a time it is doable. I am looking forward to some down time just sitting around, drinking coffee, knitting, reading and taking it easy.
Hi Colette, Bealltaine looks so cosy and ready for winter. That table was a bargain. The mushrooms are my favorite. I was brought up in Dunlaoghaire, south Dublin and your story of the holy water made me laugh so much as it reminded me of my own dear Granny. She even had a shrine in her bedroom and went to 8 0’Clock Mass every morning too. Traditions are so important as it brings families and the community together. Best wishes on your Birthday.
Collette, people are ignorant, rude and just full of anger nowadays. That's why your channel is a breath of fresh air EVEN with your Rants. YOur Rants are legitimate, they are logical and actually make sense. So, You make perfect sense. Patsy is so adorable and she's tiny compared to what size I thought she actually was. A true little Darling. Blessings to you and Patsy for a Blessed New Season.
Colette, if you’re still worried about the table corners for your grand babies, they make clear rubber “bumpers” for the corners. Not unsightly either! Thank you for your beautiful post! 🌻🍁🌻
Collette, I dearly love seeing your beautiful home and surrounding gardens and woods. Your soothing, calming voice is always so very nice. As a mother and grandmother I completely understand your explanation of the change in your loo. I have to admit I wondered about it as I watched the last video. You said it well, as women we are good at compromising for the ones we love. Please continue to share your life with us and thank you!
I totally get accommodating your family. T’is a beautiful thing. Not to mention, having the option is always a plus, should you find the need. As we ladies get older, a little convenience goes a long way. You have done such a beautiful job in the cottage and on the land. So gracious of you to answer questions and invite people into your lovely home. I will always be grateful for you. Your channel has been a place of inspiration and solace in a world that has lost its way. Thank you, Colette! Patsy is so adorable, loving you the way she does. 🤗♥️
Colette, when you first told us about your compost toilet, i was fascinated. You seem to be a totally self-sufficient woman. I told many people about your channel. Those were people who had all the conveniences and material things in life but were considering a simple life as self sufficient as possible. Covid caused people to rethink many things n life. Oh, your lovely coffee table and your reference to the children and banging heads. You are very creative so i recall someone having knitted a protector to put around the table just for that reason. Love this season. The colors of trees, etc. are exquisite. Just love how you educate us about traditions. Just beautiful to hold onto old traditions. I keep a bottle of Lourdes holy water by my door and bless myself as i go out. Mom used to bless every room with Holy water. She kept a St. Bridget's cross and sacred heart picture facing door on wall. Slaine. USA
Colette, you are blessed with so many grandchildren, and with your giving heart, it’s no wonder you wanted to accommodate them. I admit it, I’m one of the guilty ones who asked about the toilet. But in my defense, I sort of subconsciously didn’t want you to change! And yet life changes; we change. Thank you so much for explaining. You didn’t have to, at least not for me, because truly, it didn’t matter.
Thank you so much Collette for sharing of the ancient History of Halloween Customs Ireland I just loved your tale of Grandmothers rituals I do remembed a time when the Lamplighter Came around the streets of Belfast at evenjng time To light the lamps in the 1950’s Yes indeed Also my granny had Placed in the Corner nook Of her Victorian Fireplace , a small red light bulb In front of the stature of Christ the Saviour Mary Canada 🇨🇦
I remember growing up, we had a wooden toilet in a shed in the garden, very primitive and not very welcoming at all on a frosty night. In fact my little cottage still has the shed or "Bumby" as it was called at the bottom of the garden. Never had a flush until I was in my teens and even then it was outside. How things have progressed, but they were happy times unlike the present. Blessings Colette for bringing us some normality and sharing your beautiful cottage and woodland and of course sweet little Patsy ❤❤
re-watching here this morning, after experiencing several communication outages yesterday. You're an example of making careful decisions in your life; what a grand example of your concern for others. And here's a comment about the amazing regeneration of mushrooms on your land; I'm seeing this also. And here's a treat from Mother Earth in this storm ravaged area---we are blessed with an abundance of Chicken-of-the-Woods mushrooms. I'm cooking them up for a hearty breakfast.
I do understand what your saying anout family and its a wonderful message on how to be a good woman force in the family. As always a very enjoyable video. Blessing to you and yours.
Beautiful content Collette. I just love your cosy cottage and garden wonderland. I also love listening to your stories. Keep well Collette. Sending warm wishes from Perth Western Australia.

Hi collett just wanted to say happy birthday, I really love your videos, your we living is looking so cosy I love this time of year and the beautiful trees and the colours are amazing. You are a hard worker I love nature so your videos suit me. Your hair is lovely my birthday is this beautiful month as well. Love your cushions and coffee table. Take care collett. Luv kxx
Glad you had a Blessed Samhain, we just had Beltaine and it was a precious time. The general public celebrate Halloween the same as the Northern hemisphere, over the years its become very commercialised here in NZ, my younger Grandchildren love it, They think they are lucky as I shower them with treats on 30th April as well :)
Bealtaine Cottage is just perfect, with or without compost loo 😉 What’s with the comments?! Honestly. You should not have to put a video out justifying your actions. I spotted it too but what business is it of mine to ask? Some people 🤦🏼♀️ Anyway. Blessings and belated birthday wishes to you, dear Colette 🎉💚
Your cottage and woodland look wonderful all preparing for the winter season. I just love the way nature just does its own thing and prepares the ground for the regrowth in the spring by replenishing the soil with the falling leaves. I read somewhere ( many years ago) that the trees actually talk to each other via the Mitochondria and so can send messages "down the line" so to speak.
Happy Birthday Colette. We used to have a holy water font also near our front door. Although I don't think it ever had holy water in it. You hair is looking really nice. Suzanne
Interestingly enough, I noticed the composting toilet was replaced. However, it NEVER occurred to me to question as to the why....As a woman of maturity and respect, I fully understand change is occasionally a necessity. It was nice to see a video again. Thank you.
I just love love love your home. Your house has so much caracter. Absolutely beautiful!! ❤❤❤ Sending love and tons of blessings to you and sweet little Patsy. ❤
💯 % grandmother! Thinking of the children. I dont care where you " go" .didnt even notice. Im enjoying the colors and changes of season with you! Patsy stole the show this week.
I totally get the composting toilet thing. I agree. There are things I believe in and follow and my husband thinks I’m bonkers. Each to their own❤Blessings
I understand Colette, hear you loud and clear. When family come to visit we want the precious time we have together isn’t focusing on way we live and how they wish were different.
Happy Birthday… I hope you had a lovely day… and the year is kind to you… I was born in July, but my favorite season is autumn… and spring… I enjoy the late summer into December… being special. I love the coolness in the air… and the leaves changing colors… the harvest time… I find it very soothing. Patsy looks so comfortable in her bed… she is a cutie. Take care and enjoy the season… and your home looks lovely and comfortable… sending Peace…🌜🌞🌛🌎🕊️
I am so proud of you and all that YOU have created. 2bathrooms is a really good idea. It's also good for you to be as comfortabe as possible. I love your new stove! OMG! I love you Colette.
I was born on Samhain, Nov 1st. and being in the US I didn't know about Samhain until I was an adult in my 30's. But I've always thought my birthday was pretty special.
You have dedicated the last 20 years to the bealtaine cottage project so i think you are entitled to make things easier for you and your family. I find it sad that someone feels it is necessary to focus on your toilet facility. Keep on making changes that will benefit you, its not selfish its sensible ❤
Colette hope all is good. Just wanted to say here, you..your cottage and beautiful Patsy give me so much joy and comfort. May you live a long and healthy life. Take care (Mary)

Hi Colette, I'm so glad you enjoyed your birthday! Love your cushions also! Blessings to you and dear little Patsy ❤❤
As grandparents we are always trying to make accommodations for our Beloved Grandchildren🥰You Do YOU Sweet Colette🙏🏼💙🌈🥰‼️❣️‼️
I love Patsy! She is so cute! I really enjoy your videos! ❤
Happy belated Birthday. I love your outfit today. So cute overalls thank again for your beautiful insight on life
Blessings to you as always.
Happy Birthday Colette. We used to have a holy water font also near our front door. Although I don't think it ever had holy water in it. You hair is looking really nice. Suzanne
The flowers and lottery are lovely. The table was a bargain. The fuschia was unbelievable. Belated happy birthday.
The middle pillow made me think of a 70's song "Foxy Lady"😜!
Interestingly enough, I noticed the composting toilet was replaced. However, it NEVER occurred to me to question as to the why....As a woman of maturity and respect, I fully understand change is occasionally a necessity. It was nice to see a video again. Thank you.
I love Patsy❤
You have been and continue to be such an inspiration! Thank you! (and cutie pie Patsy!)❤❤❤
You could make a calendar of your woods it is so beautiful
Oh Colette! You’re amazing and wonderful!….Patsy is too! HB🎈I have a new grandson and my family is always in and out at my home.
I just love love love your home.
Your house has so much caracter.
Absolutely beautiful!! ❤❤❤
Sending love and tons of blessings to you and sweet little Patsy. ❤
Your hair is very pretty. I like seeing the inside of the cottage as well as the woodland and Patsy. It’s all beautiful.
Thank you so much sharing of the ancient history of Halloween 🎃🎃 I love you so much madam ❤️
I love listening to you, I can hear it in my soul, thank you
💯 % grandmother! Thinking of the children. I dont care where you " go" .didnt even notice. Im enjoying the colors and changes of season with you! Patsy stole the show this week.
My birthday is in April and your bluebell woods are lovely. If I could have chosen my birthday month, I would have chosen October.
Beautifully spoken Colette. Thank you.
My fuschia has still been flowering and the fat bumble bees have been using it :-)
Birthday blessings dear Collette, how rude to question your choices, inspiring me as always xxx
Happy Birthday!🎉
Beautiful woodland. BB.
Happy Birthday… I hope you had a lovely day… and the year is kind to you…
I was born in July, but my favorite season is autumn… and spring… I enjoy the late summer into December… being special.
Blessings!🎃🤎🍀🐶
I would love to watch videos all about your grandmother and her antics! 🍀
I love you and your stories !you amaze me 🌹🍀🍀🍀
Colette hope all is good. Just wanted to say here, you..your cottage and beautiful Patsy give me so much joy and comfort. May you live a long and healthy life. Take care (Mary)
