  • WannaBe Pro travels to Chile to explore the High Andes and attempt some big days to tackle some big peaks. Thoroughly underestimating the effects of high altitude, struggles for more than just air are found on Cerro El Plomo. After stumbling upon a fallen fellow mountaineer, an attempted rescue and horrible broken Spanish force some tough decisions to be made.

Good call on the turn around! You are a rugged dude but sometimes you need to know yourself enough to know what the limit is, especially at altitude like that. Looks like descending made you feel better pretty quick.

Thanks man! Definitely makes it hard to turn around when you travel far for mountains

I went in November and got hit by a blizzard. Planning on going back January 12, excited to take it on.

That was a really good one! With all the lose scree you got the authentic Aconcagua experience. Since rescue was coming in, I second your decision to leave the injured guy. Heli won't have room for you and you'd be stuck at high altitude with no supplies or gear for a night time descent. Curious, though, if the heli flew in high winds?

Thanks for the feedback. I never actually heard the helicopter come, potentially because of the winds, which was definitely concerning. I actually ended up calling the police in Farellones so hopefully they were able to do something :/
