Good call on the turn around! You are a rugged dude but sometimes you need to know yourself enough to know what the limit is, especially at altitude like that. Looks like descending made you feel better pretty quick.

I went in November and got hit by a blizzard. Planning on going back January 12, excited to take it on.

That was a really good one! With all the lose scree you got the authentic Aconcagua experience. Since rescue was coming in, I second your decision to leave the injured guy. Heli won't have room for you and you'd be stuck at high altitude with no supplies or gear for a night time descent. Curious, though, if the heli flew in high winds?
Thanks for the feedback. I never actually heard the helicopter come, potentially because of the winds, which was definitely concerning. I actually ended up calling the police in Farellones so hopefully they were able to do something :/
