- Ever run into the issue where a nail just doesn't want to come out. It's not so much an issue on these smaller nails, but larger ones can defy nicely be an issue. This trick just help get a bit more leverage so you're not putting in as much work.

Can confirm, strong guys hate it when you do "their thing" with ⅓ of the effort using leverage. If they think they are getting shown up by a length of pipe, or a prybar, or in this case a hammer with a slot in the handle, they will metaphorically dive tackle you about how it's wasting time and how you should just man up and work harder etc etc... BC I guess back when they were young the laws of physics were different and the basic principle of leverage didn't apply back then or something 🤷
Someone who gets it!
Tell me you’re 5’6” without saying it😂
Of course strong guys should do this too because they won’t tire as quickly and therefore can be more effective as time goes on.
Called work smarter not harder, course it helps to have that type hammer. Though I’ve done the same thing with a Stanley fat ax.
Fuck he got me
How do you know a guy has a Martinez hammer?
Don't worry, he'll tell you.
Lmaoo you a goof😂😂😂 👌
The 2 guys I've met that have Martinez are each master carpenter's that have their own companies.
Very humble and modest about their tool brand selection because their work spoke for itself.
It's not what ya got it's how ya use it..
@@maxnovakovics2568trash hammers broke within a week
Will he tell you about his debt to income ratio as well? 🧐
Ain’t that the truth 🙄🙄🙄🙄
"Look at my MARTINEZ hammer everyone!"
It screams new diesel and money
@@mountaintopremodelingWorthless without the Martinez cats paw and you know it.
@@lovelyhurlin6494 they don't make a Martinez cats paw and you know it XDXDXD
Jealousy
@@mountaintopremodelingthey will now
Always use a 12” nail bar guys. It’s WORTH THE WEIGHT!
There was a time I would have 100% agreed with you….. but I’m 40 now. 🤣
If you measure it, it's actually a 3/4 wrench and the bottom should be 1/2 inch. That's how stilettos are anyways. Always used it to tighten bolts when u didn't have a wrench handy
When you borrow your wife's tools.
Nice hellcat… oh wait… sorry… I didn’t realize you don’t have it like that
Or just stick the claw end behind the nail puller, efficiently quick, and go on to the next task.
Just as efficient
I've seen guys bend a stiletto doing this with their cats paw, one guy cracked three teeth when the nail head folded over on itself and he caught the whole assembly in the jaw.
Ferramenta top...um abraço do Brasil
Damn, I guess anyone will try and justify that price tag.
Thats the 400$ hammer from a video i watched 20 secs ago 😮
my $4 craftsman hammer doesn't have the hole please send help
Lol. I got my fancy hammer.
First mistake is choking up on your 320$ hammer. Second mistake is, hit the paw or use the long ass handled hammer to pop out the nail.
Not everyone has that same hammer or a hammer with the same features.
Why not use a bigger catspaw yhen
Wait hold on is that a Martinez?
I use a 15 inch cats paw i have plenty of leverage
Do the same thing with my stiletto!!
I'm a wooden handle guy
Bruh just use the hammer to remove it at that point
My cat’s paw can remove nails? 🐈
Sorry but I'm not paying $400 bucks for a dame hammer that's just crazy
500 dollar hummer😂😂😂
Just pry it once then use your hummer lmaooo
Watch a guy try ro justify his absurdly expensive hammer.
Can’t pull a nail out 😭
The cats paw goes the other way around so you can put all of your weight on it
You bought the small one that’s your problem. Just buy the proper sized one
Im not saying this is a bad tip but ive used a cats paw for the last 12 years and not once did I wish my hammer had the ability to do this 🤷
$350?? for a hammer??
Or you can just man up and use the cats claw
Ahh yes, carpenters trying to be Ironworkers.
By removing a nail? 😂😂 alright
Really? I don't see him smoking crack or hitting his dog in this video.
My fiskars hammer can do that same thing.
Or you can buy a man sized cat's paw and give that one back to your kid.
das nice
How weak are you 😂. Ngl though leverage is a time saver on the job sometimes.
The majority of the time I don’t need this but sometimes there’s that one nail that just doesn’t want to come out
"can't quite get enough leverage"
Just get your husband to pull on it for you.
Fr he had me yelling at the phone to try throwing his purse at it
😂😂😂
I agree
All I hear was “you guys ever turn into a little bitch when using your cats paw? Well I sure as hell do.”
You're all dorks. Get back to work
Big pry bar® is going to pay a lot of money to have this video taken down.
🤣🤣🤣
What about big hammer? 😏
Great helpful hint. Ooops, I mean hack. Sorry millies.
so martinez is the snapon for framers
Basically 😂😂
We had “Dead-on” at one time…. But after spending a shit ton of money figuring out that “cool” does not equal “good”…. You don’t really see them around anymore. 😂
Yup was going to go with Diamondback until saw the price. But my DeWalt bags do the same thing for $100 bucks
Strap on .
@gavindaly5731, how original 👏
How can I get leverage in a divorce?
Shoulda got a prenup. But I’d say bang her mom 🤷🏾♂️ or dad if you want to really show here who’s boss
You can also use a Martinez hammer in the divorce. 🏃♀️🔨
Is the divorce because you spent so much on a martinez hammer
Try using the hole in your hammer....
Well in a divorce it’s usually because of the hammer. Sometimes she needs a sledge instead of a ball peen. But you can run a peen like a sledge to get the same result. Ya just have to work harder.
That hammer looks like it belongs in San Francisco
How would you know? You a frequent?
🦠💩🤡🤓
@@mountaintopremodelingbutthurt
I think it looks gay
Say you don't know about that hammer without saying you don't know about that hammer...
$300 hammer.... $20 cats paw.
That 20$ nail bar goes harder than any stiletto nail bar. Legit broke 5+ stiletto nail bars before I switched to cheap ones lol
I use the same combo it’s great.
Not even dude that’s literally the cats paw my girl has in her toolbox. I think it’s like $12. A small cats paw is great for small things. Building a house? No.
@@dankcoyotethere is a made in Japan version that is better quality metal and can take some serious punishment. Build many houses with one
Can't afford the hammer,im still paying off my Martinez speedsquare level 🤯
You did the purchase backwards haha
My dad and brother bought Those Martinez speed square levels, so overrated. They feel nice but I cant justify the money.
As a contractor if I had to watch my bloke fuq around taking a nail out while talking up a $400 hammer he'd be goin home😅
Wote
*ever ran into the instance where you run out of ways to justify an unnecessary expense for a basic tool… or have noodle arm grip strength lol
That's a neat trick, I tend to just tap the grip of the nail pick with the neck of my hammer until the nail starts to give. (using your hammer: uppercut the nailpick, forcing the nail out)
I’ve pulled hundred of nails with cheap and expensive cats paws. If the mail doesn’t come out with a shorty they make long bars 😂 please don’t use this method next to windows. One stubborn mail and the windows gone
Try hitting it with your purse! Oh sorry I forgot it's empty after buying that hammer.
Imagine getting broke by only spending 400$, feel sad for you lol
My hands and my 20 year old estwing work just fine.
”LoOk aT mY $400 oRanGeee hAmmEr” I do full remodels!! I use a $40 millwaukee framing hammer and a rusty stanley hammer thats older than me!!
Weird flex but ok…
That's why I push down instead of trying to pull up. Also less chance of tweaking your back pushing your weight down onto it. Also, less effort than even your hammer pulling up method.
I just be a man and give myself tennis elbow from levering off of my bones lol, I have a stilleto T-bone and you can do the same thing
Gotta take care of that body!
Yeah cause its a sore elbow you’ve got to worry about being a carpenter 😂 try ya knees hips back and lungs in 30 years and see if that bright pink hammer made you look cooler
@@gaffenz1137 I did look cool 😎
@@stickyricky345 I still can’t justify it ay, they do seem the goods though
@gaffenz1137 your right mine was a gift I couldn't justify it then but I'd buy another if mine got lost broke or stolen
I bought a Matinez drywall stretcher. Took out a 7 yr. loan to pay it off. Bidenomics is killing me!! Who agrees? 10k likes?!

What's that? A $300 hammer?
Probably 350
ThreeHUNNA
Nice looking hammer!
Are they available in any masculine colors?
Or you can just use your hammer to tap the other end of the cat paw where you are holding it with your hand. Real carpenters use a wood handled hammer without a hole in it.
Man, to much haters in the comments
I use that all the time when I figured it out, but yes it work amazing, great video though
Am I the only one who cut the rubber off my cat claw so it slides in and out of my pouch holders better?
No! I do that too haha
It gets annoying when it gets caught up
100%. Bothers me when I see people with it still on. lol
Mine didnt even come with rubber in it. But it seems like alot of people use that same one with the blue rubber sleeve. I always just assumed it’s the only one they sale at Lowe’s or something haha
@@dustincartie3502 😆 ya me too
Those open spots in the metal are for tuning to prevent vibration.
Learn something new every day!
They actually fit over common nuts
@@emde174 I’ve heard that, never had the chance to try it though
Too whole fits 7/8 bolt and bottom one fits 9/16 u can use them to loosen them or tighten bolts check it out if u dnt believe me
@@mountaintopremodeling 7/8 and 9/16 I’m a scaffolder and I own this hammer and it fits both bolts and we work with those sizes everyday so it comes in handy
Or you can get a man size cats paw and skip the ridiculously expensive hammer!
You can't hold that hammer and not look like you're overcompustating for something.
Having nice things is considered overcompensation? The only people that shit on these hammers are the ones who can’t afford them.
@jjmeara26 I disagree. People shit on things like this because they're more novelty than practicality. People don't get to a financial state where they can afford a $400 hammer when a $40 option will do the same job. I make more than enough to have a Martinez hammer for every day of the week, but I got to that point by not buying frivolous shit and being smart with my money. Smart people with wealth own property, not expensive hammers. People who are working manual labor jobs and want flashy things for their hard work buy $400 hammers while paying rent and leasing brand new trucks.
Buy a house, over pay your monthly minimum mortgage. Drive a vehicle that's reliable and gets the job done. Pay it off. Work hard. Aquire wealth, then buy a boat and a side by side if you want something nifty and flashy.
Been trying to buy me one for the last few month. You just made me spend the money LOL. Great idea btw
Glad I could help haha! You'll love it
I usually just turn the cats paw the other way and hammer the other side. Always works and is usually much quicker for me. Also, hate that cats paw got me a relic from a garage sale. Things about a foot long and dosent make a giant hole trying to dig the nail out.
Holy fuck guy really invented up a name for a nail bar... jfc.
Amazing!! I always wondered why the gap was there..
I bet $30 hammer works just as good as $333 one 😎
50$ dollar Dewalt with a lifetime warranty. I'm still trying to break it.
I won a stiletto/Ruger in a nail driving contest…. I gave it to a friend because my go to has ALWAYS been the Estwing California framer (they call it big blue now days)
I can tell you 100% all that titanium/fancy pants shit is nothing more than fashion show for tradesmen!
Especially in a nail-gun driven world!
Anyone who spends more than $50 on a hammer is a tool with a tool. 😂
@@andrewgarratt5191driving nails isnt the only use for a hammer, if im going to be a carpenter the rest of my life, using the same tools every day, its just nice to have a good quality hammer. We have had 3 martinez hammers on the jobs for 6 years now, no problems with them at all, they are very useful, strong and conveniently shaped. The best hammers ever made without a doubt. The new technology in these tools isnt something to be scared of buddy
Nope. Fuck Estwing. Stillleto all day. DeWalt a close second tho for sure.
I just tap the catspaw a bit.
Now all you have to do is intricately weave some paracord through the two holes to make a choke handle, upload a video with the words “prepper paracord turorial” and you’ll have a whole fresh batch of people busting you balls from multiple corners of the internet.
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: (Hebrews 9:27)

I have this printer with a messed up bl touch (didn’t work out the box after assembly) I still haven’t used it… its my first printer of this type (I have a resin printer also). I can’t find any info on my specific problem and their customer support is meh at best 🤷🏽♂️
Judging by your clean sweat-proof shirt, shiny new gloves, new tool belt and $400 hammer….hmmmm. I think I’ll take my advice from a real tradesman.
Lots of jealous commenters on here. Hell, I am not in the building trades and I'm going to buy myself a Martinez hammer. I like the concept and I support Made in America. When you die, you can't take your money with you, the IRS will get a nice chunk of it, so might as well splurge when you can. II like this channel, subscribed!
Mechanics have literally been using this kind of trick with 2 spanners to loosen or tighten bolts for years. Most of us mere mortals who don't have a Martinez hammer but we could probably find a big enough pipe or a big ring spanner to use than an expensive hammer like that one.
I use a small lenght if scaffolding gole. Works better and wont damage that expensive overly priced priced hammer you needed to show us.
Jesus Christ died for all of our sins. He died the death we all deserved. He was the perfect one who never sinned once, but he loved us so much he decided to die for us so our sins would be paid for and we can enter the Kingdom of Heaven before God the Father blamelessly. He is the living son of God who wants to know us and have a personal relationship with us. No matter what you have done no matter how far gone you think you are Jesus can and will save you. All you have to do is confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior. Believe that he died on the cross for your sins and had a bodily resurrection 3 days later. We cannot be saved by our works but by faith in Christ alone. Repent and turn to Christ. You will have joy, happiness, love, and peace beyond understanding.
I doubt he needs the extra leverage, just makes the job easier. And he wants to show off the beautiful hammer 😂
Hmm well.. hmm .. as a Martinez, stiletto, and boss owner.. I love my hammers. It’s definitely an unnecessary obsession.. but nice to have them. They do feel great.
This video.. this kid’s embarrassing to us simple folk with a hammer obsession.
Welp....guess i gotta cut a big hole in my hammer now, can't justify $300 to switch from a douglas and stilleto to a martinez just so i can use it for a cheater bar.
You can tap the cats paw with the hammer too btw. Works great. Might even be faster.
Nevermind the cheap $6 hammer people's comments lol! I have 4 Martinez hammers brother! Once you buy one you will never go back to regular hammer. I tell guys if they would cut back on their beer and weed they could afford a good hammer.
afford a good hammer lmfao. you got over a grand in hammers dude. mr gonzalez gonna steal your shit
@@schlomoshekelstein908 You can count! I would definitely hire you bro! Do you know how to read a tape? Most retards can't. If you can, look me up, I might even buy you a Martinez!

Didn't Archinedes say with a fulcrum and a long enough lever he could lift the world?

Yes, now that I have GOOD hammer I can finally PULL nails!!!
Ok comprare un Martinez hammer para mi proximo proyecto de divorcio de algo me a de servir lol.!😂😂😂😂
I was gonna subscribe but the way you said "a little more leverage." Stopped me dead in ny tracks.
I'm still not paying $350 for a fucking hammer.
OK this is funny, I have to same hammer that same cats paw same tool belt same tape and same level. No joke, good taste my friend
I want a Martinez Hammer !
But can’t seem to justify the expensive purchase.
Martinez was the original inventor of stiletto hammers which came from outside of Sacramento over priced
"MAAAAAN I'DE NeVeR pay that for a tool" -Someone in the comments
😂😂😂
Have you ever tried using a titanium head on the martinez titanium handle? Does it throw off the centering or anything?
Cats paws wear designed so you hammer can just hammer the nail out
My go to is to leverage with the hammer by hitting the end far from the nail
Why are so many people angry over a hammer , I think Martinez hammers are pretty nice and if you have the extra cash why not just get one ?
hell nah i rather buy and used my 25oz wood handle hammer from harbor freight that only cost me 10 dollars
First thing I thought when I saw this without knowing what it was about was “that’s a small cats paw” lol bigger one would help that too.
Maybe get your sister to do it. Or don't buy a 400 dollar hammer and a 5 dollar cats paw.
That’s exactly what they made it for however, wasn’t needed here you’re just weak
No, you use your man hands to pull nails. Great tip for the female workers though
