My favorite silent treatment ever
Yes this one and Bartolo Colon after he hit his first career home run are my 2 favorites 😂
all the people who didn’t doubt ohtani in 2018, you made the right choice
lol now he’s a dodger
@@joeelliott2810does that invalidate his statement?
Really funny how Ohtani can't control his excitement while his teammates did the "silent treatment" prank. Awesome! 🤣
3 years later he’s on track for 60+ homers
I'll give him 55. All star week always reeks havoc on your swing.
@@alanwoodwind5265 why does it do that
Roger Maris, here we come.
Dude is not human at all.
He’s probably not gonna hit it. When do the playoffs start?
2023 and that home run “silent treatment” never gets old. 😂
It's just amazing that we're witnessing a true 2-way player in 2018....i've never seen one before. And he seems like a cool, young... and happy guy...!!
Richard G Padres
bendsomemetal Ford don’t think I’ll take your expertise with any significance
bendsomemetal Ford Well, he’s done it in Japan, which had never done it before. So he possibly has the ability to do both. Why not give him a chance.
bendsomemetal Ford
He was able to have a season in Japan where he batted in over 100 games and pitched over 20.
its a different league but he might be able to do it in the majors.
bendsomemetal Ford
yeah its easy to hit because they have good hitters over there
0:59 what a cute guy
jh l exactly😍
Handsome Ohtani
Was at the game last night for his walk off grand slam to get join the 40/40 club!!!!!
UNREAL PLAYER
He’s just getting better and better he’s 50/50 club now 🥹
His dugout reaction was priceless😂
Hug me!!😂
can't help but shed a tear seeing Shohei crank the ball and his teammates hyping him after. Means so much for his entire country.
It's officially Sho time!
Alex James nice
You better trademark that shit fast! I guarantee you someone else will.
Alex James They already use that in Japan but not for Ohtani, they use it for his former teammate Sho nakata.
I thought your were Alex Jones for a second haha
Alex James It’s been ShoTime since he first joined the league !!
AND NOW ON DECEMBER 9TH,2023 TODAY HE SIGNED THE BIGGEST EVER SPORTS CONTRACT $700 MILLION FOR 10 YEARS! JAPAN GOD BLESS Y'ALL!
Seriously, this guy is a freak. He being a batter alone deserves to play in the big league, not to mention he runs fast and is a pitcher who can throw 100+ miles fastball.
I come back to this every once in a while. Shotime still doing his thing in August 2021!
It was just a beginning of legend.
Unbelievable! This kid pitches better than Darvish, hits better than Matsui, and runs better than Ichiro!
Just compared him to asians players only lmao
@@Low_Zones they’re all Japanese tf do u think
don't think he runs faster than ichiro.
ichiro was much better runner. 500+ stolen bases
the fact that this is all accurate is scary
Just remembering what we had.. man that's never not going to hurt. I HATE YOU ARTE
Trout says..."go salute the crowd." He doesn't say it. He just points it. And he goes....immediately. Great to see mentorship. No doubt its why he went there.
I love how happy he is when he gets to the dugout. He can't contain his excitement. I'm glad he's starting to find his stride.
Yes 👏 I literally want this guy to shut the haters up. And I’m not even an angels fan lol
Yea seriously, he's playing for minimum pay and risking it all just because he wants to play. He could have stayed in Japan for a few years then come to the US to make many millions of dollars, instead he rather play in the best league. Meanwhile players in the NFL hold out for a new contract each season and we don't think anything about it.
They are just a bunch of salty Mariners, Yankee fans, etc, because they weren’t the team chosen. We were probably the only team actually okay with him doing both DHing and pitching.
Haha me too 😀 I wanna see my Yankees and the Angels in the ALCS. I hope Ohtani becomes a superstar.
castrejon321 I'm a yankees fan but I really want the angels to win this year though unlikely. Everyone expected him to go to the Dodgers and I want the Angels to do well. Solid team
3 years later. He sure did shut the haters up. :)
6 years later on the same exact date he hits his first homerun for the Dodgers!
I thought so too, but this one was on april 3rd, and the dodgers homerun was on the 4th. Close enough tho.
Here for the memories..
Amazing guy... i hope he ll be a legend
seho jang Me too man, and don’t worry he will be !!
He is now! ( May 2021)
He's finally getting the recognition he deserves 👏 lol
Update: he is
Lol what a crazy guy
yep he is
unbelievable... he's just amazing... pretty sure he will be another legend in mlb..
you were right
Trout's hella excited he finally has some help
MMM Pujols much?
kevin morales pujols is trash now with that kind of speed
Joshua Kim now we have his for the power he has and for the records he’ll give
Pujols is too juiced to play
If the Angles still don't at least make it to the ALCS, Trout is cursed lol
He finally broke the grand slam curse I'm so proud
I will never forget the first time I saw this
I was working for ESPN at a night shift and they had this game on in the background as I was finishing up. Usually I'd leave the building but I wanted to see a few innings of the shohei home debut. What a magic game he had. What a week he had. That's when I knew he was for real
FBI Stat Major
I’m from Washington, I was at this game thanks to the USA premier league tournament, can you guess what happened? I missed the homer because I was looking for my teammates in the stands so we could sit together...... Yeah, depressing.
00:54 So cute :)
I loved when this happened, a huge chunk of history brought to the mlb, he is really respected by the fans, he has a huge future with the Angels.
Watching his after he became a dodger and my chest starting to hurt
I havn’t been following baseball recently..used to be a HUGE braves fan during Maddux, glavin, and smoltz days BUT this kid is making me excited for baseball again. Way to go kid!
ねーねー僕ホームラン打ったよ〜!祝福してよ〜!
とおねだりする大谷くんくっそかわいい。
Yeah, that's exactly what I was saying!
Translation: "The way he tells his teammates 'Hey look I hit a homerun!' is so frickin cute"
tamonk Thanks.
tamonk Thats correct
I’m happy there are so much nice people in the Angels😁
2楽しんご Yeah, Ohtani reminds me of a Japanese Mike Trout lol
:)
he is overrated
I mean, he is and he isn't. Some people think he'll be the best player to ever play, others think he will flop.
So I wouldn't exactly say he's overrated because I think the general consensus falls around that he's an exciting player and will be pretty good.
lmao
I don't like baseball that much, but I cannot take my eyes away from him.
He is a handsome man
Yes, Ohtani can just do EVERYTHING (except catcher) super elite that it's more interesting and amazing watching him than playing video games or watching animation.
I think even if he nosedives right now I’m 2022, he’s already a legend. MVP and one of the best 2 way players ever.
The beginning of SHOTIME
Wait, this guy is a pitcher and hitter?
You don't watch so much baseball news, do you?
yes, he plays pitcher, infielder and outfield, only missing the catcher and 1st/3rd base coach lmao
Yes sir, that was the reason why he was so hyped.
Josue Rodriguez lol😁
2018 OHTANI
HR28(Prediction)🤔
My god is he massive man, he gonna be a superstar! happy for him! ganbatte!
looks like they gave him the classic silent treatment
No they didn't what the heck are you talking about
Yes they did Thee. It's a classic little "prank" if you will, where someone new to the team gets a home run, comes back to the dugout, and all the other players pretend like nothing happened.
They break character after 10-20 seconds usually, as you see in this video.
It's a fun little thing to do to new teammates, and is pretty normal.
Dude where in the video did you see that?!!
0:55 Notice how the entire dugout is up and looking away from him for a good few seconds when he comes in, as if they "didn't notice" lmao, that's where it is
Goodness you guys are an all you can eat buffet for the trolls. Stop feedin' em!
The kid is only 23.
27 now. Wow
The dugout ghosting him was hilarious
In 2021, he will finally be able to finish the full season in good health for the first time. First of all, I'm most happy with it.
I was at this game 😀 it was my daughter’s first game as well.
5 years later on track for 2nd mvp
Yes! A great start for Ohtani! Glad to have him!
From a Filipino die-hard Angels fan
I am crying. 翔平、Nice HR.
His major league history just began
This aged so well haha. Unanimous MVP if he finishes the season healthy this year!
@@kibskibs498 and it keeps aging better
And better
This was awesome. For all the injury scare and the magnifying glass he was under in the off-season, it must have felt so awesome to belt a near 400 foot homerun. You could see the weight lifted off his shoulder and his teammates were so happy for him. Remember, this kid is making like the league minimum rather than holding out and playing in a few years for a ton more money. All the risk is his but he just wants to play ball!
wait...this is the cutest thing ever lol
Best Silent Treatment Ever!!
This kid is gonna be special
you were right
This guy is a freak of nature. Throws 100, has a devastating curve ball and can hit the long ball. Once he gets more AB's and starts, he will be setting records in the coming years. This Jays fan is so ridiculously jealous we didn't get him...
markwest1987 yea I wish we got him ....
His first start was average at best. I always thought he would be okay at one a good at the other. Run now kinda hard to tell, still just average performances in both hitting and pitching. Because yes, there are other people hitting home runs believe it or not...
Give him more time! He’s 23 and JUST moved to the USA. He will be a stud. Mark my words.
I am so agree with u...I wanna know why other people doesnt care the word "adjustment "which we know it happens in every angle of our life...
LOL great argument. Be sure to not quit your day job at KFC because you have no hope anywhere else. Thanks for commenting!
And he's the home run leader in 2023!!! wow
I just got home from the Angels games and I recorded couple of videos of Ohtani.
One of him hitting a single and the last out of the game when Ohtani was interviewed at the end of the game.
I regret not having my cell phone ready when he hit the home run. It was his first at bat, and did not think much of it, but Ohtani hit a three run home run and it was so awesome to witness it.
What a fake person you are . 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
@@meltednostrilsbornwithoutn781 What do you mean?
@@josecarranza7555 oh please I saw all your racist posts telling Ohtani to go back to Korea .
@@meltednostrilsbornwithoutn781 Where?
Magic. And Trout telling him to take the curtain call. Too cool.
Favorite moment of baseball so far this season!
I have never seen silent treatment!!
I think it is a good habit.
Ohotani has a magic power!!
I want to share my mind with many baseball fans in America!!
Not only hitter not only pitcher... his great challenge is really worth. Great Challenger should be always well respected.
He is cool
He is so cute😍😍😍
Mannn his translator is one lucky guy, gets to travel with Ohtani, and the team. Chill with them. That so cool
They need to simply let this kid play. Magnificent talent. In his first game on the mound he caused more swing and misses, 18, than in any game pitched by Verlander last year. Yes, there is a reason all 30 teams wanted him.
The beginning of a legend
So many great players come from Japan! Ohtani, Ichiro, and so many more!
He’s going to be the GREATEST player to ever live 🐐🐐🐐
He's now in 2021 & 2022 and he will continue to show the world how many more histories he can make for MLB and baseball!
貴方は正しかった。
It was my first time to see the silent treatment! So proud of him from Japan!! Go Ohtani!
That silent treatment 😂
when he was still human.
he is so cool and cute!
Aged especially well with his 6HR this week
Already at 100 home runs! Can't wait for 200!
I was at this game. Amazing experience
Shohei's swing is so smooth.
Rookie of the Year, Cy Young Award, Silver Slugger Award and MVP! !
Yu Kagari mans hit 1 homerun chill lol
Lets go!!!!
Yu Kagari let's wait a bit. But he's off to a pretty good start.
I'm japanese but That's overrated .
The meth is strong on this post! 😂😂😂
日本ハムからいなくなった時寂しかったけどやっぱりMLB似合ってる。さすが大谷だね。北海道からでも感動した!So sad to see when he left Nippon Ham Fighters, but he is doing great in MLB. Cheering from Hokkaido!
The legend has started
2021 MVP😭
kid may become a star in next few years :)
Kids a star today at least :)
Already is
Andy Pagakis no he WILL

松井と同じで本拠地開幕初打席ホームランもスター性溢れまくり
I’m a stros fan, but good for him. He’s going to change the game.
Yes, he did! There's an Ohtani rule applying only for the present only-one real two-way player Shohei in both AL and NL of MLB.
This dude going to be something special. From a red sox fan can't wait to c more from this guy.
As Shohei's fan, I am sorry for Red Sox fans who had just experienced two starting pitching games (in Fenway Park & a few days ago this year 2022) from Shohei that won against Red Sox by pitching and with homer. Although Red Sox played against Angels, I appreciate the Red Sox players have been kind to Shohei when he came to various bases greeting and talking to all players and judges(even the Red Sox broadcasting commentators had been praising Shohei a lot even after Shohei won the games and I am still very thankful for their appreciation to Shohei's excellent performance). They all enjoy talking to Shohei so much that some would come by and say hi to Shohei even in distance sometimes. They all enjoy talking to Shohei so much that smiles keep growing when Shohei comes by(except last pitching game while Shohei was so intense and locked on).
最初アレって心配になって仲間に抱きつく大谷かわいい
30 Years from now & looking back - WoW vintage Shohei amazing. !
Okay baseball community: Let's make this reach 1,000,000 views to show the baseball world the epicness of Mr. Shohei Ohtani! We can do it!! ⚾⚾⚾
It's 1.2million views now in 2022, one year after Shohei got his 2021 ALMVP and more than two dozens of other awards including 13 major ones. Although Shohei performed even better this season especially pitching and got nominated for ALMVP in a consecutive year, Shohei is unlikely to get it because Angels couldn't go postseason and unfair evaluating system for Two-way Player and biases for his better elite pitching (15wins, 2.33ERA, 1.01whip, 219K) but less HR than previous season(46HR in 2021& 34HR). Shohei is ranked about 4th in MLB and I hope that he can be selected to be a CY candidate. Even though Shohei might not get any award this 2022 season, Shohei had made many, many new MLB historical records which were not counted for winning awards. Shohei has already become a legend with all the long lists of Historical New Records he made for world baseball and MLB! Yet Shohei is still going to grow better and continue to make more great baseball histories as he did in Japan Professional and MLB! Shohei is the GOAT🐐!
If everyone smiled like this kid does...the world would be a better place.
true. hes just a 6'4 japanese kid living his dream.
such a pure guy. had no clue about the silent treatment lol
and today we are watching him making his own history
3 years later we got non baseball fans who know who he is now.
3 years later, Shohei Ohtani became 2021 ALMVP and got the special commissioner awards as well as two dozens awards including 11 major awards from baseball and general sports world. And Shohei was also the most being searched pitcher in the whole united states. Ohtani also became the face of baseball both in MLB and internationally.
They really fixed his batting stance and stride in Anaheim. Look at his spring and japan at bats, he had this HUUUGE leg kick and now he has the Altuve / Bryce Harper toe tap... Also a more compact swing.. Bless the angel's hitting coach..
That's awesome 😀
If he continues to hit homeruns and has an era at about a 3.0-4.0 max he can be a fucking dangerous addition to that team for a long while.
Just wait til you see him in 2021!
This guy is a real beast. He can win 15G as an SP but also hit 15HR. My friend said it is impossible in MLB. But look. He won the first game with 6K and made a Three-run HR. But his salary is ridiculously low. This is the reason why big teams are sending scouts to Asian league.
Smh could’ve been a grand slam without that wild pitch
Truly talented
I really hope this guy excels beyond his hype, especially as a 2 way player. It'll be really good for baseball.
he already does buddy
Your hopes were answered haha
Bro still going crazy
I'm not even an Angels fan but I'm happy for this guy. I hope he has an amazing career.
Welcome to the Bigs Shohei Ohtani
