Even years later I think of this character from time to time. Just such a cool concept and perfect execution. I hope some way some how he makes a return in a future movie.
There’s the Furiosa movie coming out soon so he may make a brief appearance as a younger version of himself, sadly though I doubt we’ll see him doing anything like this
@tengoodquestions Do you not understand the definition of concept? He's not super deep. Just a cool idea. Dude who just wants to rock out on the top of a moving vehicle with a guitar that can blast flames out of it. It's a cool concept.
@@scottgallagher6546 For real, he wasn't pulling on a whammy bar when the flames where coming out 🤨 ( But... This IS the Internet & they'll say any ol bullshit for views)
So fun fact, that truck with all the speakers didn’t work. When the director saw the truck, he wanted to hear it play music but was so bummed that the crew immediately got to work on making it work. Another fact, the doof warrior and his flame thrower was meant to boost moral and his flame thrower was meant to indicate specific signals to all those behind or around him.
Yeah and add to that the weight of the rigging and structure supporting the weight of the guitar and it's amazing he was even able to hold it up at all.
No, iOta's stunt double Ben Smith Peterson married that girl. Her name is Riley Keough. She's Lisa Marie Presley's daughter. Conan was not very clear in that interview.
George Miller asked his wife Margaret Sixel to edit the film- despite her having no previous experience in Editing or even in Filmmaking. She went on to win an Academy Award for Best Editing....
No prior editing or filmmaking experience?! Margaret Sixel is a proffessional film editor that edited six movies before Fury Road. The only thing she didn't have experience with before were action films...
Credit for being only a handful of people observant enough to catch that. If you look at a high def still of the guitar you will see there is no whammy bar at all, only an empty hole. LOL
The fact he controlled the flamethrower with the whammy bar and not some pyro dude on set with a remote control makes that scene 10x more badass than I originally thought…
There were so many madly creative moments in Mad Max and I do meen all of the movies and this one was my favourite, someone’s wild thoughts racing through every scene 🎬 totally love the creator ♥️♥️🤐
It'd be cool if someone made like a UA-cam video or a short movie showing how he became a flaming guitar man ...if done right it would be very entertaining
They fired the flames from a controller behind the camera. They say so in the making. Its just the character, and depicted as if hes the one controlling it with the trem bar, but it was someone offscreen timing it properly.
I remember when I first saw this in theaters couple guys I worked with also watched this with me and man the first time seeing that particular vehicle one of them said he'd wanted to rock with the guitar. I said I'd be fine with being one of the drummers, but the last said he would have been satisfied driving the sexy beast of a machine. Had to give that one props because it got a few heads turned on that one.
Random Trivia: The very first MAD MAX movie was a MASSIVE success. On a budge of around $350thousand-to-$400,00thousand, it would go one to make $100million worldwide (and that's in 1979 dollars).
I'm not saying that the guitar maybe wasn't heavy but there's NO WAY you can quickly fling 60kg around like that as a weapon as Tom Hardy does to the warboy. Still one of the best movies ever.
This was the all-time greatest character to view in 3-D at the cinemas…. He had zero lines, but he will live in my head rent-free forever.
But a totally stupid movie compared to the original!
Dude he probably is my top 5 favorite movie characters of all time!!! I'm glad I'm not alone on this.
Immortan Joe- played by Hugh Keys-Byrne (Toecutter in the original _Mad Max_ film) is the best character in the movie- tho...

The dialog in this video is stolen word-for-word straight off IMDB's website, on the Mad Max: Fury Road Trivia page.

When this scene started with the drums banging then camera panned to Doof warrior starts shooting flame. That was the most badass scene in any movie.
