I’m a survivor of Kawasaki disease. I was helicoptered out of Northern California(eureka) to Oakland Ca(where I live now) and was treated at Children’s hospital of Oakland. The doctors couldn’t figure out what I had, they thought maybe hepatitis but I tested negative for everything, including Kawasaki. I was so close to death(heart failure from the inflammation) they told my mom to stay close cause I would most likely pass during the night. A doctor that was not on my case noticed I was from asian decent(last name Wong) and begged for my doctors to start treating me for Kawasaki bc he was sure I had it. Even though I had tested negative he said let’s give it a shot... the next day I had already made a full recovery. Whatever antibodies or treatment they gave me made me feel miraculously better overnight. I was begging my mom to go get food from the cafeteria and to be pushed in the wheel chair. I was admitted to CHO for around 2 months maybe 3. They kept me there to monitor me and make sure I made a full recovery. I remember the nurses being so nice, letting me watch Barney on the roll a way tv. I got a doll and medical tape to take home. I remember all of my family visiting me because they all thought I was going to die. As a child I had no clue what was going on. As an adult I’m so thankful to the doctor that helped me, and saved my life! Now I have a 5 year old, I am beyond blessed.

I got this when I was 4, I spent 3 months in hospital as they couldn't diagnose me. I almost didn't make it, luckily a nurse/Dr came from London and diagnosed me with kawasaki disease. I was one of the first in Wales to be treated with it.

I had this disease too. Luckily my mom was able to notice my symptoms very quickly and took me to my doctor and he quickly diagnosed me. I was able to quickly recover and I was told I saw a heart specialist for a year after I was cured. I only have one memory of that time and it was me laying in my hospital bed holding a brown teddy bear. Now that I’ve grown up and seen my family experience more health scares, I’m very thankful for my mom and my doctors.❤

My boyfriend had Kawasaki disease when he was seven for about 2 months. But ever since then he's had terrible heart problems and he's been tested for years, but never been properly diagnosed (since they don't know what he has exactly). He'll have random heart pain's that get worse each time they happen and the left part of his back becomes numb. If anyone else has had this please let me know.

I want to thank you for this video and the other videos who have posted about this disease! Your videos were the only videos that truly heloed us. We recently went to the emergency with all of these symptoms with our baby. I've never heard of this disease and Drs don't really explain stuff well. While the Drs in the ER where trying to figure things out and thinking if indeed it was Kawasaki disease, this videos was a true blessing to us. Thank you for taking your time to put this videos together so parents like us who are scare out of our pants in the hospital with our children, have some kind of understanding. Knowing is the first key to our fears, the unknown, and everything that comes with scary diagnosis. God bless you. And Thank you again..

"I experienced Kawasaki disease at the age of 2 in 1996, a time when the means to promptly identify this condition were not as developed. Fortunately, I survived. Kawasaki disease is an acute febrile illness primarily affecting children, characterized by inflammation of blood vessels (vasculitis) and potential impact on various organ systems, notably the coronary arteries. Symptoms encompass fever, rash, swelling of the hands and feet, redness of the eyes, and swollen lymph nodes."
"I am currently 28 years old and generally in good health. However, I have experienced episodes of high fever accompanied by a rash that bears similarities to the rash associated with Kawasaki disease. These occurrences typically last for about one week, resolving on their own. Despite being an overall healthy individual, the recurrent nature of these symptoms raises concerns. I am seeking professional medical advice to understand and address this pattern."
