@@nagyba It's listed as "indoor use only." I could not find any weather/water ratings. I assume if it's shielded from any harsh weather conditions then it might be fine.
Excellent review as always Shane. I was looking for something similar for the garage door and was thinking of the Aqara but this is a much better price point. Thanks again.
Great review Shane, much better looking than the previous for an interior door. I usually say ☹️when there’s no HomeKey support for a lock, but for an interior door I agree it seems like less a deal for some reason. Might get one for an “owner’s closet” door on a condo we rent out sometimes. That’s where we keep stuff we don’t want Airbnb type guests accessing.
I've had the Halomark product (predecessor to the Thorbolt) for about a year. It's a great product. Based on your review, I'm now considering upgrading to the Thorbolt in order to have the fingerprint scanner. Thanks for your great reviews Shane!
I have two of these locks. Outstanding lock. Completely reliable over 8 months. Always shows up in Apple Home. Fingerprint reader is excellent and works the first time 99% of the time. If it doesn't it's just a matter of repositioning your finger. When I installed 18.2 on my iPhone, Apple TVs, and Homepod Minis, Apple Home became completely unstable for a few days. It eventually stabilized on its own. I speculated that it might have something to do with Apple AI and a learning curve associated with it but who knows. Apple knows..... Maybe. I have about 250 devices on Apple Home so it was probably a steep learning curve.
I have this lock for my office at work. The fingerprint scanner is hit or miss sometimes, but with the dryer weather and me doing manual labor, my thumbprint is jacked up quite often. I also had difficulty adding another fingerprint. It kept failing, but eventually worked. I do like itoverall.
Thanks for sharing! FWIW I added a couple of my fingerprints and my wife's and we did not experience any issues adding fingerprints. Glad you got it to work though and happy with it overall.
Awesome video Shane! I think they nailed it on the price on this one very tempting, I would probably use it on the interior garage door for an extra sense of security
I had this in my cart on Amazon during Black Friday until I realized it was only for interior doors. Very annoying. I wish they'd make an exterior version of this.
Good question. We usually use Siri (iPhone or HomePod mini). You could also program a smart button. I found the easiest way if you want to do it manually at the door is to open the door, press the enter button to lock it immediately and close the door (since there is no physical button on the inside).
I knew sleep point sounded familiar, I have an air verse filter. This would have been nice when I put a locking door know on the lab. But then I had two 3yr olds, and 7 and 13 living in the house. And with the chemicals, 3d printers, solder and lead stuff, well so much that could go bad so I had to install something to make sure that room stayed locked.
Hmm, the door to the garage is interior? I mean my dog just chewed up my door knob going to the garage. Might be over kill with level both and this lock, then again I might be able to automate it so if one is unlocked, the other will also.
now when your power goes out you or your wife will be locked out or when your network goes out or when this device stops getting updates or hacked. make sure you got extra metal keys!

Already on my shopping list for the home office in the house we’re building. Thanks for the initial review.
hahaha,,, might be the greatest promo/ad for a smart home device. Thorbolt needs to hire you guys for a nationwide ad.. lol!
haha thanks man!
It’s the intro for me 😂😂😂😂
This would be great for an office or studio room

Great for a wine cellar! 🙂
Love mine!
Awesome, thanks for sharing Terry!
Just got the Aqara U100, I love it so much lol

Thanks Larry!
Great price for smart lock for interior garage door.
Great intro!! 🤣🤣
just bought one on amazon for my Gun room. Thanks

Ah would love one of these for each of my bedroom doors, and all for different reasons! (Mainly my office to stop kids coming in during filming!)
I love this video so much
Hey Shane….what options do you have to lock the interior door from inside the bedroom

Trying to find out the difference between the MD1 and MK1. Any idea?
HomeKit support

It’s sold out already? Link to Amazon says unavailable

Their previous version isn’t working consistently any more. The lock and unlock operation from app/home app are not working in sync with latch status.
It would be nice if people made a smart doorknob that didn’t look stupid.
Agree that thing looks ugly
Put it on the bathroom door where you can always have a “Ahhh, Yes!!” 😂
Strange no one ever reviews Level lock.
The skits were funny lol.
Bedroom & Officr
not for me its ugly
Dude said “Em Kay one”. MK is an abbreviation for Mark which means generation or iteration of a developing or evolving product.
I live in Cambodia now. I don’t even have a door.
Sadly it’s £190 ($239) in the uk!!

Damn she shut you down. Married life!
Haha yes, but I won her back in the end! 😂😜

It’s ugly
