Personally as a bass player I think The Blue Bangers bass line is better, mostly due to there books usually holding more awkward and technical patterns, but still having high velocity runs, ooey ooeys and hand to hands, but BD Bass is still hella fire! Honestly they both are tied!
@@jimmyj956 They nailed it when it counted! I watched them rehearse and saw the show in Denver in July, and the amount of progress they made from that point until Finals was incredible.
@Cassandra Garcia I don't think you know how judging works. Obviously every judge has a bias but if the judges were biased towards BD they why would have vanguard beat them in percussion the last three years. BD beat vanguard at finals in percussion (not overall because vanguard beat them the two night prior) because they were cleaner. That's that. You can hate BD all you want but it wasn't bias that won it. It was their piss clean finals run
@Cassandra Garcia You literally know nothing about how DCI works...BD had a better rep that SCV on Finals. SCV was more consistent. It wasn't a shut out by SCV. It was pretty close.
@Cassandra Garcia Does that mean they can't be good as well? SCV killed it too but BD did beat them at finals with a perfect 10 in performance so they were definitely "something else"
@Cassandra Garcia wow you are so closed minded. Can't except that there is more than one drumline in existence. What happens if I say that cadets were underated this year? What about that crowns drums were the best they have ever been?
@Cassandra Garcia and SCV got 2nd and BD got 1st why? Cause the show was cleaner overall SCV has always had amazing percussion and they win in the percussion caption very consistently but BD Is a cleaner band all around. Im personality a Bluecoats fan but BD deserved that 1st
Cassandra Garcia It’s not always about how easy a book is. It’s about execution to the book and the level it’s at. You could have the best performers but sound like crap or have the worst performers and sound like gods. Frankly doesn’t matter cuz I’m just here for clean beats
Man. There is always that one troll on BD videos... Great job for BD this year. I was rooting harder since my boy Cam Halls was on this line! The show was amazing.
Deciding between them and vanguard for high percussion must’ve been the hardest decision ever. Both were so clean and precise while also evoking such emotion with their playing. I couldn’t have chosen one over the other
EpicMem The trophy goes to the highest score averaged out over all three nights. BD won finals night (even achieved a perfect 10 in execution) but SCV had a higher average and therefore won the title.
They did get the top score on finals night. But SCV killed them for prelims. They were very clean on finals night. Scott even talked about quitting early.
that might just be the best bass drum line I have ever heard at any level. snares and tenors have always been great, but I this was an amazing surprise
Won drums Finals night. I really don't like the captions going to the average of nights during finals week. It should go to whoever scores the highest on the only night that matters - Finals.
@Cassandra Garcia News Flash: Look at everyone's technique in the Blue Devils... see that? All the same. Now take a look at SCV where they sacrifice technique. Almost everyone in the line is different. BD does not sacrifice technique for sound quality and they're scoring highest on finals day. It takes A LOT to clean technique and beats, whereas SCV only really cleans their beats.
Sam Greenberg kind of! I was recording and everyone was looking off in the distance. I didn’t realize what they were looking at until it was too late - by the time I swung the camera around they were just hitting the release of the roll and started walking back.
@@joeyscotch2765 Each of the sections were showing off some of their section features. While the basses and snares were playing, the quads walked off (presumably for a quick sectional). Then the basses and snares stopped playing and looked at the quads, who were holding a spock roll about 200 feet away and slowly marching towards the ensemble. I think this emulated a part of the show where the quads are way off on side 2 of the field, holding a spock roll by themselves.
Moreover if we see their rehearsal in public, how do they learn their play and coordinated movement s, there seems that there are no video s about that
