This is what I know. If you are listening to a pastor and he’s telling you everything you want to hear and not stepping on your toes… run. Must go by the God’s word. There must be conviction. There must be repentance.
Andy forgot that God loves the sinner BUT He hates the sin. You cannot love your sin more than God meaning you don't want to sin. Someone going to Church as a homosexual is not there to feel good about his salvation, he has to know the same God who destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah is still against that sin and the Judgement is at hand when you continue in that sin.

If you read the Genesis story slowly and take in all the meaning, you will see the amount of care and precision God took in making the marriage union. When the so called pastor doesn't follow the word of God, then you should already have your answer. Jesus himself said my sheep know my voice, his voice is the word of God! If they follow someone who is not going by the very words, and voice of Jesus, the word of God. Then you should automatically know that that's not a Church, that's not a Pastor, and those are not Jesus's sheep. Just saying, Jesus also said if the world hates you, remember that it hated me first. Well when you see the world loving these churches, and movie and T.V. and Music stars loving it, then they can't be from or about Jesus. Jesus gave us his spirit to discern these things.

I honestly am totally turned off to John McArthur. I know he knows God’s word but I do not appreciate his videos of criticism of others. He should leave that to God to Judge. It seems that’s all he does anymore.

While some feelings are legitimate others are not. That's the problem with our modern culture, we have reduced love down to feelings. We have sayings like, "follow your heart" and "they fell in love". Your point about whether we would know if it is a sin or not if the bible didn't call it one seems to come from an evolutionary world view. As though God didn't create us and later we got a man made book called the bible that tells us what to do. Using that logic we could also argue that murder is not a sin because we see murder in nature ALL the time. Yes, we would still know homoseuality wrong because it goes against nature. In fact, if you stay true to the evolutionary point you must admit that homosexuals would have gone extinct millions of years ago because they wouldn't have reproduced. We instinctively know that homosexuality is wrong because we know about the natural order. But we know that the bible is the word of God and we must obey it. God created sex for married people only. End of story. Being attracted to the same sex does NOT make you "gay" ! It makes you a human with a temptation problem just like everyone else! When you act on those temptations, then you are committing homosexual sin. Being tempted is not a sin. Most men are attracted to women other than their wives, that does not make them adulterers. It makes me a human that is tempted but with the temptation there is a way of escape. Jesus Himself "was tempted in ALL ways as we are, yet without sin."

Heard a bible believing radio preacher tell of a pastor in a small, rural town that asked his advice on building Church membership what to do. The radio preacher asked how many members he currently had. The pastor’s response was that he was embarrassed to say it was something like 10 or so regulars each Sunday. The radio preacher told him ,” well you must be preaching the truth because your congregation would be much bigger if you went along with the new generation, feel goodism, of today’s culture immersed churches. That’s some hard truth right there.

Well isn’t that the Truth! Charles divorced and still behind the pulpit. Scripture disqualified him when he became divorced. I am divorced my wife left for another and I know me holding a position in church would be a stain and disqualification for me. And the nut fell close to the tree with Andy. He is catering to the masses for number sake while preaching social gospel issues as Andy encourages them all the way to hell.

@@DB-cx6cb The Bible clearly teaches that if a wife or husband walks away from their marriage for them to stay unmarried or reconcile to keep from sinning. I don't think Charles nor his wife ever remarried. But like in your case, when adultery is a factor, the sin falls on the one who committed the sin, not the one trying to do the right thing. Paul recommended (by permission not commandment) that the unmarried stay unmarried to dedicate their lives to God's will. People don't realize the lengths God will go to for His will to be done. For example, when Judah and his sons didn't follow God's will concerning Tamar, He killed Judah's son who disobeyed and allowed Tamar to trick Judah into fathering her child. A good friend of mine who had a great ministry going had his wife admit to adultery and left the marriage without letting him have a choice. He could have listened to people who didn't know God's word and quit like you did, but after a lot of prayer and study he realized God could still use him. Now he counsels married couples and has been able to help so many because he's experienced what a lot of those people have. When a person is dedicated to God's will for their life, you can guarantee Satan will use whatever means necessary to hinder and keep it from happening. He will use your loved ones, and it's on them, not you, if they allow themselves to be used by him. Don't let tradition, spiritual immaturity, or embarrassment keep you from serving Christ. Stick to the Bible and God's will. Let God be true and every man a liar.
I was an adulterer for a while and still going to church. You got to want to be delivered from your sin and recognize its destruction. If my church elders knew of my willful sin I’d wouldn’t be coming back most likely. We know that Jesus loves us unconditionally but hates our sin. I’m grateful for the grace that God gave me to get to this point in life. We can go to church every time the doors are open and look like that great person of God on the outside but God knows our true self. The sinner needs to learn Gods Will in each of there lives. My adulterous life was not in Gods plain.

As a woman in my late 60's, I listened to hundreds of his father's sermons, seeing this "sermon" makes my heart cry. Is there no one that can confront Andy, in love? Let's pray this is a temorary victory for the enemy.
His father did, and for long time they didn’t spoke to each other. Little by little they started a relationship, but no Bible involved. Dr. Stanley is not responsible for his son going astray.

My brother lived as a homosexual for years. My mother and I loved him, prayed for him and stood firm on the Bible. Mother told him over and over that God created him as a man, not as a homosexual. When his eyes were opened to the truth he saw that the devil had deceived him. He never married and never had children of his own. The devil robbed him of those blessings. He has a unique place now as he knows how lgbtq think. He knows that they are confused and literally blinded to the Truth.

It's important to use the Bible terms "sodomy" and "sodomite" when discussing this issue. Using the worlds invented terms for this behavior such as "gay" or "homosexual" normalizes this atrocious and sinful behavior. And the words we use are important, many of the people who are ok with gays adopting children wouldn't be as agreeable to allowing sodomites to do so.

He knows all these scriptures that condemn homosexuality but they are just something "intetesting to talk about" but refuses to actually speak them or talk about them except to dismissivly call them "clobber phrases" as if the bible condemns you to never know Christ if you ever did these things, which, of course, it doesn't. What Andy clearly doesn't want to discuss is that salvation requires repentance and you cant repent of a sin that you refuse to acknowledge is a sin. Clearly Andy does not acknowledge homosexuality as a sin when he talks about "gay christians" as if being gay is just as valid an idwntity as being christian. It is not any more than "serial killer christian" or "bank robber christian" would be. A christian is certainly capable of committing sin, but the difference is a christian acknowledges their sin and repents, a non christian does not repent but makes excuses and justifications or flat out refuses to acknowledge their sin as sin. That is exactly what Andy does with gay people and tries to shame people who call out the sin of homosexuality for the sin that it is. If you are an unrepentant gay person you should be ostracized in the church because the longer you are allowed to parade your sin without consequence and even be accepted as a brother or sister in Christ the more and worse sins will be allowed and tolerated in the church until all the real christians are gone and all thats left is apostate. This is how you get transgender "preachers" celebrating gay pride, child mutilation, abortion, and orgy affirming nuns from the pulpit.
Is it loving to embrace sin? Pastors are to council members living in sin and admonish the adulterer, drunk, wife beater, prostitute, etc. A Bible teaching pastor corrects his flock wanting eternal life for them not hell.

My personal experiences attended Andy sermon at North Point, the church welcome all. ' Come as you are' in hope that the Holy Spirite may do work in you and leave as a diferent you. I was a none believed or an atheist, but was transformed by his teaching, became a believer and born again during my 3 years 2015 to 2018. Both my wife and I volunteered help leading youth group. My overall experience with Andy was like a sponge, learning about amny biblical events, the teaching of God's words, Christ relationship and fellowships.
Their Faith is hoping not believing. The Bible is plain. You must TURN and REPENT, stop the sins of destruction, changed person, Reader of the Bible, not just trusting the speaker. Ask yourself why is the path to Heaven NARROW ?? If the pastor of a church teaches as Jesus did: "go and sin no more", there is a clear cut dividing line between those who want to do that and those who want to ignore it. Preaching is not about taking away or keeping ones church. Preaching is to bring people to Christ and then teaching them the clear word of God that tells us how to then live. It's the Word of God that is sharper than a two-edged sword clearly dividing the bone from the marrow.

What Stanley misses is that “gay people” don’t have to “hear us.” They have to hear the Good Shepherd who, when they hear His Voice, they will live! Seems Stanley doesn’t have much faith in the powerful word of Christ to bring a soul out of darkness through conviction of sin by the power of the Holy Spirit. Stanley is preaching religion, not Christianity.

He does, in fact, believe the Bible is God's Word. I haven't researched his conviction on homosexuality, but I suspect it is in line with scripture. And Andy is not lost. Again, watch the video.
I am called to owe no man nothing except to love him. Love means genuinely speaking the Gospel truth with gentleness but with boldness. Weakness is being so passive and lukewarm, in fear of offence, to win the praises of worldly, lost men, instead of winning their souls for the glory of God, that it accomplishes nothing except worthless self glory and being spewed out by the Lord as vomit. I write this because I too have been guilty of also being lukewarm. Stay awake church, be sober and remain vigilant. You have just witnessed, in this very hour, one piece of the Great Apostasy. We are not going to be popular, we are not going to win friends. But we just might, one day in the Kingdom of Heaven, with all hope, meet one more saved brother or sister in Christ, whose name was written in the Lambs Book of Life, before the foundation of the world was laid. 🙏
Stanley may "know" the relevant passages (which he calls "clobber passages") but by his lack of exegesis and application he shows he doesn't know anything. Much like Solomon with all his God-given wisdom. His failure to apply the wisdom made him as foolish as the worse of the godless kings.
All God wants is salvation for all. Staying in sin CANNOT bring us to Christ. This leads people to Hell. This is what Andy is doing. Praying for him and his congregation. Loving people is telling them the truth.
Unfortunately, there are a few so called "mega churches" in Atlanta that are in lock step with Andy Stanley and I am a member of one. Slowly but steadily this 10,000 plus Church that I attend is heading in that direction.
I understand why you and others criticize him but think for a second and listen carefully what he is saying. How in the world you are going to explain the gay community there is something wrong with their life style if you don’t even want them in your church.? Jesus was attracted by sinners. You and others who think like you look a lot like pharisees who put the law above the people. The first two commandments are paramount but Jesus enacted one which is above of it. At the end of the day who are you for condemning the gays and lesbians? Is not up to you. Even him with no sin didn’t condemned the adulterer . Be careful because your job is to be for one and other. That’s it. Jesus said and that settle it. Jesus example was attracting the sinners to him and then explain the scriptures not all the way around. Before you talk to a hungry person about God you have to feed them. No one with an empty stomach will listen to you.

We will never convince sinners, by our niceness, or by our “acceptance” of them, to come to Christ. Those who come to Christ are “drawn” to Jesus by God, the Father. They can only come if He “grants” them the grace to come. [Jn. 6:37-39, 44-45, 65].
I’m thankful that God didn’t answer the “cry of my heart” at ages 12, 13, and 14. I wanted cars I couldn’t drive and material items I couldn’t afford. It was called immaturity. I wanted the wrong things. Just because God says, “No” to a request, is no reason to not worship Him later in life.

@@SwiSwiKat You are missing a major point. Sex is NOT love. It's an expression of a feeling and the only way to reproduce. Feelings are also NOT love. While some feelings are legitimate others are not. That's the problem with our modern culture, we have reduced love down to feelings. We have sayings like, "follow your heart" and "they fell in love". Your point about whether we would know if it is a sin or not if the bible didn't call it one seems to come from an evolutionary world view. As though God didn't create us and later we got a man made book called the bible that tells us what to do. Using that logic we could also argue that murder is not a sin because we see murder in nature ALL the time. Yes, we would still know homoseuality wrong because it goes against nature. In fact, if you stay true to the evolutionary point you must admit that homosexuals would have gone extinct millions of years ago because they wouldn't have reproduced. We instinctively know that homosexuality is wrong because we know about the natural order.
But we know that the bible is the word of God and we must obey it. God created sex for married people only. End of story. Being attracted to the same sex does NOT make you "gay" ! It makes you a human with a temptation problem just like everyone else! When you act on those temptations, then you are committing homosexual sin. Being tempted is not a sin. Most men are attracted to women other than their wives, that does not make them adulterers. It makes me a human that is tempted but with the temptation there is a way of escape. Jesus Himself "was tempted in ALL ways as we are, yet without sin."

Heard a bible believing radio preacher tell of a pastor in a small, rural town that asked his advice on building Church membership what to do. The radio preacher asked how many members he currently had. The pastor’s response was that he was embarrassed to say it was something like 10 or so regulars each Sunday. The radio preacher told him ,” well you must be preaching the truth because your congregation would be much bigger if you went along with the new generation, feel goodism, of today’s culture immersed churches. That’s some hard truth right there.

@@DB-cx6cb The Bible clearly teaches that if a wife or husband walks away from their marriage for them to stay unmarried or reconcile to keep from sinning. I don't think Charles nor his wife ever remarried. But like in your case, when adultery is a factor, the sin falls on the one who committed the sin, not the one trying to do the right thing. Paul recommended (by permission not commandment) that the unmarried stay unmarried to dedicate their lives to God's will. People don't realize the lengths God will go to for His will to be done. For example, when Judah and his sons didn't follow God's will concerning Tamar, He killed Judah's son who disobeyed and allowed Tamar to trick Judah into fathering her child. A good friend of mine who had a great ministry going had his wife admit to adultery and left the marriage without letting him have a choice. He could have listened to people who didn't know God's word and quit like you did, but after a lot of prayer and study he realized God could still use him. Now he counsels married couples and has been able to help so many because he's experienced what a lot of those people have. When a person is dedicated to God's will for their life, you can guarantee Satan will use whatever means necessary to hinder and keep it from happening. He will use your loved ones, and it's on them, not you, if they allow themselves to be used by him. Don't let tradition, spiritual immaturity, or embarrassment keep you from serving Christ. Stick to the Bible and God's will. Let God be true and every man a liar.
I was an adulterer for a while and still going to church. You got to want to be delivered from your sin and recognize its destruction. If my church elders knew of my willful sin I’d wouldn’t be coming back most likely. We know that Jesus loves us unconditionally but hates our sin. I’m grateful for the grace that God gave me to get to this point in life. We can go to church every time the doors are open and look like that great person of God on the outside but God knows our true self. The sinner needs to learn Gods Will in each of there lives. My adulterous life was not in Gods plain.

My brother lived as a homosexual for years. My mother and I loved him, prayed for him and stood firm on the Bible. Mother told him over and over that God created him as a man, not as a homosexual. He knows all these scriptures that condemn homosexuality but they are just something "intetesting to talk about" but refuses to actually speak them or talk about them except to dismissivly call them "clobber phrases" as if the bible condemns you to never know Christ if you ever did these things, which, of course, it doesn't. What Andy clearly doesn't want to discuss is that salvation requires repentance and you cant repent of a sin that you refuse to acknowledge is a sin. Clearly Andy does not acknowledge homosexuality as a sin when he talks about "gay christians" as if being gay is just as valid an idwntity as being christian. It is not any more than "serial killer christian" or "bank robber christian" would be. A christian is certainly capable of committing sin, but the difference is a christian acknowledges their sin and repents, a non christian does not repent but makes excuses and justifications or flat out refuses to acknowledge their sin as sin. That is exactly what Andy does with gay people and tries to shame people who call out the sin of homosexuality for the sin that it is. If you are an unrepentant gay person you should be ostracized in the church because the longer you are allowed to parade your sin without consequence and even be accepted as a brother or sister in Christ the more and worse sins will be allowed and tolerated in the church until all the real christians are gone and all thats left is apostate. This is how you get transgender "preachers" celebrating gay pride, child mutilation, abortion, and orgy affirming nuns from the pulpit.

My personal experiences attended Andy sermon at North Point, the church welcome all. ' Come as you are' in hope that the Holy Spirite may do work in you and leave as a diferent you. I was a none believed or an atheist, but was transformed by his teaching, became a believer and born again during my 3 years 2015 to 2018.
Both my wife and I volunteered help leading youth group. My overall experience with Andy was like a sponge, learning about amny biblical events, the teaching of God's words, Christ relationship and fellowships.
Their Faith is hoping not believing. The Bible is plain. You must TURN and REPENT, stop the sins of destruction, changed person, Reader of the Bible, not just trusting the speaker. Ask yourself why is the path to Heaven NARROW ?? Too many have itching ears to here what they want 🥲

If the pastor of a church teaches as Jesus did: "go and sin no more", there is a clear cut dividing line between those who want to do that and those who want to ignore it. Preaching is not about taking away or keeping ones church. Preaching is to bring people to Christ and then teaching them the clear word of God that tells us how to then live. It's the Word of God that is sharper than a two-edged sword clearly dividing the bone from the marrow.
