It should be interesting to note that Kim Medcalf is the only one in this scene who has never appeared in Doctor Who. Leslie Grantham: "Resurrection of the Daleks" (1984) Letitia Dean: "Dimensions in Time" (1993 charity crossover with EastEnders) Tracy-Ann Oberman: "Army of Ghosts"/"Doomsday" (2006) Michelle Ryan: "Planet of the Dead" (2009 Easter special)
It's his one liners I liked. When ali said to den in the cafe den I got problems .den replied you think you got problems. I have got problems that will make your toes curl. Lol
I think the reason why Den loved Sharon more than anybody (even more than his biological children Dennis and Vicky) was because she was raised in a time when he was on top of the world in owning the pub, being popular and "king". And think he wanted to get that back.
Eastenders isn’t that deep. It’s strange considering you follow the characters every week every year but they have less depth than normal shorter shows/stories
@aryastark772 I don't think Den loved Sharon as much because of that, but he was definitely stuck in the past by the end of his run and wanted to relive his prime days back in the 80's which was made clear a number of times. Dennis called him out on it after Den tried to come on to Zoe. He got jealous of Vicki's boyfriend Tommy because he was a younger version of him. Plus, he kicks Alfie and his family on the street because he desperately wants the pub back so much to relive the old days with Sharon.
The funny thing about Den is that he always kept his cool even when his opponents were ranting and raving at him and he knew how to cut them down with a dismissive remark. He was a master of psychological warfare, getting inside your head and messing you up from within instead of physically.
Liked the fact that while these three women were against Den, Den was actually warning Zoe and Sam about Chrissie. Look how manipulative she got after killing him. Making Zoe believe she killed Den and framed Sam for the murder when Zoe left. Chrissie was a brilliant vixen of Walford. Out of the three I liked Sam.
True. When they killed Den and no one knew where he was, Pauline said he'd meet his female match one day. He had in Chrissie. She did love him and kept coming back but she'd had enough. And he hated Dennis as Dennis could be with Sharon because no blood and they weren't raised together but he couldn't be because he raised her as his daughter and people would be more disgusted and accuse him
i wish they hadn't turned den into a complete asshole the way they did just to make his commeupance more satisfying. i mean the way he's portrayed in the 2000's is miles away from the sort of character he was in the 80's
If you listen closely, you can hear the taxi pulling away outside at 1:42. I think it’s safe to assume that Sharon walked in at around 1:58, just when Den confesses to anything.
Yep last time I watched den was great good storylines after he went it turned crap last time I watch it was when den was murdered. Don't watch others as well coronation farm or emmerdale street.
@@David-uq2uk Yeah me too, after Dirty Den got killed off in the 20th Anniversary Episode, I completely stopped watching EastEnders. Now I don't really watch EastEnders nowadays, I only see the important clips from UA-cam. I watched the first episode of EastEnders (19th February 1985) to the 23rd February 1989. 14 years later, Den returned and I started watching the soap again, until he got killed off for good.
He came into the local shop I was working in around 2006-2007 and I served him. After the webcam scandal had broken out. Burwash, East Sussex. He came up to the counter and asked for "20 Pall Mall please, mate". I was 16/17 at the time and recognised him but wasn't sure from where as I don't really watch TV, until my colleague went "That was Dirty Den!"
Weird man ruined his relationships with his wives angie and chrissie and his children Dennis and vicky, he told Sharon he cared about her more and his actions showed it. Sharon was blinkered and didn't care he hurt people until chrissie was released and she said she understood. He treated Sharon like his wife, it was disgusting. Chrissie at first understood zoe was manipulated to sleep with zoe then threw her and sam under the bus
The only thing is that Den Watts was a way better person than Wilmott Brown. When the Dagmar owner raped his employee Kathy Beale, Den sought out to the Firm to make Wilmott Brown pay. Den was a much respectable figure than Wilmott Brown was in the East End Community. That's what made him popular. He didn't throw his weight around, (like those Mitchells) he used physiological ways to beat people & also wasn't a git like Wilmott Brown.
fucking hell the second sam is some much hotter than the original. why they'd bring the first Sam back and have everyone pretend like she was hot stuff
The best era for eastenders 2003 - 2006
"There's not one single person round here who I give a toss about.......Princess!" At 2:46 he knows he's lost her.

@@darrensmith8730 Yep, she sure did.
Wish Kim Metcalf came back as Sam Mitchell... much more believable than Daniella Westbrooke. And a lot prettier too.

Den was actually hilarious 😂,
He was evil but he did love Sharon😌.

The End of Dirty Den and Classic EastEnders.

So I got Zoe pregnant!! me an old man!! They'll make me a national hero!!😆🤣😅
😂😂😂😂😂😂
I laughed my head of
“The only way you’ll get me out of the vic is in a pine box”
Chrissie - Hold my statue
😂😂😂😂
Proper arrogance from Den. Heart of stone 😂😂😂
These storylines were so good. This Sam was better too.
And fitter than the original one Danielle Westbrook
I read Leslie Graham's history and if he can be an actor after all that, then that gives me hope I can too, wow.
2:27-2:34 best quote from this show 😂

I always thought Kim Medcalf was better as Sam Mitchell than Danniella Westbrook and better looking too.
Adam Gordon they didn’t need to bring Danniella back.

Sam, Chrissie and Zoe were three of the most beautiful women in EastEnders apart from Kat and I really miss Den, he was GORGEOUS!!🙂😍
@BEDDOEDv yeah i agree he was one of the best in this. They never should of killed him off.
My guess is that Sharon must've walked in at around 02:13.
