I was only a young lad when I saw this scene. This happened 13 years ago and I remember this being a particularly frightening scene. Despite his wrongdoings, I really did feel sorry for Den.
Despite the circumstances of his leaving, I'll give Leslie Grantham credit for his final episodes. This is a brilliant bit of acting and writing, and a very good end for a very good character. When he comes in here, looking at Chrissie with pure rage, you feel it. It's very well done. Den was a master at discovering people's weaknesses and using them to his advantage. There were no levels he would not stoop to, no buttons he would not push, to get what he wanted. What I loved about Chrissie, however, was that for the first time in his life he met someone who was truly a match for him. Like Den had done countless times before (and beaten some smart, dangerous people like Phil, Dennis etc), Chrissie used his weakness against him... Sharon. She orchestrated a scenario where Sharon would turn from Den and disown him. The one thing he could not stand. And she crossed a line. The Den that comes back in the pub here is not the shrewd, calculating Den Watts we know. This is a broken, furious man who has nothing left to lose. I genuinely think he would have killed Chrissie here. Chrissie arguably didn't deserve to go down for his murder. I'm very excited to see what they do with her on her return.
Eastenders has two great eras: 1985-89 and 2001-06, those were the best years of the show, 1990-94 was okay, 1995-00 was a bit hit and miss the early Ronnie and Roxy era: 2007-11 is a close second but EE has been going downhill steadily since around 2012/13 for means it’s gotten worse since 2016 it’s beyond unwatchable
2001-2005 were good but 04 and 06 were dreadful. And I don't agree that it has being going all downhill since 2012. 2007[late in the year] - early 2011 were golden eras. Then in early 2011 the show was poor and stayed poor-average until late 2013 but around late 2013/early 2014 when Dominic Treadmill Collins was in it really took off-his era was excellent until mid-2016 when Sean O'Connor made a pure mess of the show. Since mid-2018 though the show has being pretty decent and I think 2019 has being brilliant.
EastEnders was fantastic during this era! The BBC have failed miserably at keeping the show going. So many great characters been killed off now, Pat Butcher, Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell.. recasting Sam back to Daniella Westbrook after Kim Medcalf literally made the character her own and popular. It's a complete mess. Tip; don't hire people like Sean O Connor to run the show next time.
i give up on ee in early 2018, it just had become so terrible around later 2016 and 17 was dreadful that it put me off the show. Never seen it as bad and watching it since 01. Not watched it now since around January.
what a complete waste of time uploading a clip that is 52 seconds long! its about time eastenders youtube starts to upload full episodes instead of just short clips.
If Zoe hadn't of hit him he would have actually killed Chrissie. He kept going to bash her head against the machine over and over. They should of told the police that even after Chrissie actually offed him and they'd of been let off....
Shane Folan I saw den from his returned missed the 80s, I think I found den one most entertaining characters of eastenders, his downfall was his offscreen scandal.
@@CB-xr1eg no she would not have being unconscious from this-it actually takes quite a large bit of force for 1 to become unconscious through head trauma-tv makes it look very easy when it isn't. I have seen people falling violently and bang their head forcefully on concrete and get back up. I myself was violently assaulted years ago in a bar and had my head smashed off the ground- got right back up again. I am not saying it is not dangerous but to become knocked out is quite hard to do and takes significant force. I have yet to see an actual person getting knocked out from a mild head trauma.
i no Chrissie has been sent down 2 life in prison 4 killing Den, Zoe left but if she comes back i think she can get arrested and sent down 4 18 months or more 4 whacking Den before Chrissie killed him and Sam came back last year and was sent down 4 18 months 4 Den's death but Sam didnt do anything if u look at that clip again
I Think Chrissie Deserves it She Want Sam Zoe Come To Vic What He Like and She Want Revenge For Den He Chasing Chrissie Grab Her Dragging Her Hitting Her Head Game Machine Zoe Was Defending Her She Grabbed The Door Dog Statue Wracked Him Out
eh den was a 6 foot plus grown man- what the hell could sam or any of them there have done as they were all women and both half his size and strength? In reality unless 1 of them stabbed him with a knife or something there was little they could have done cos he would have being too strong.

Eastenders was good back in the day.

Remember this episode back then classic EastEnders
This will be like the six storyline
Horrible decision to kill him off, unfortunately the show has been very rough on its original characters and this was the starting point.
Fully agree. Massive missed opportunity with Grant and Peggy coming back a few months later.
Well the actors scandal was the issue

Most accurate comment I’ve scene, couldn’t agree more!
Been crap ever since and just got worse anyone who watches it now or last few years says it’s any good is having a laugh !
Was born in 92 so didn't see the show before that but 01-06 were fantastic
Paul Coker's Death and Babe Leaving were amongst the last good moments
Den looks PISSED
Shady Deals He looked like Dennis did when he went for Den in the Queen Vic the year before.
0:29 - LOL!!!!!!
I heard that now Sharons back they are going to get Dirty Dens Skeleton to put out of the cupboard and say " alwight princess "
RIP Leslie
Has anyone got the missing scenes with Sharon from this episode?

Michael Moon, Derek Branning, Carl White. All good characters written off way too early.
derek branning was bloody awful

@@stevendada5814 not really he rubbish awell
Roxy mitchell was the only reason I watched eastenders in recent years. She was gorgeous. Its rubbish now.
This is better than the other one
Here after EE's 2023 Christmas special.
Vengeful women ending up feeling guilty after killing a man!
what a complete waste of time uploading a clip that is 52 seconds long!
its about time eastenders youtube starts to upload full episodes instead of just short clips.
It's been 11 years...you feeling any better yet mate ?
What's up with the shorty clips. Full episodes would be great!

Eastenders were insane killing of Dirty Den, huge mistake!!!!!!!!
It is always their downfall to kill off the best characters.
+Andrew Chapman you think they had learned their lesson after Tiff
Den's comeback was a failure, the only good part was his exit storyline
They got rid of him because the actor posted pictures of himself masterbating.
Shane Folan I saw den from his returned missed the 80s, I think I found den one most entertaining characters of eastenders, his downfall was his offscreen scandal.
look at Den from 0:27 to 0:29 it is so funny
R.I.P Leslie Grantham
That door stop hit him in the neck and he gets knocked out-impossible.

It was Zoe with the door stop
what i don't get is why didn't anyway just say, it was self defence? he was slamming her face against a slot machine lol!!!
Does anyone know where to find the missing clip here- with sharon confronting Den?
what was Sam saying when den attacks chrissie
Well, Pauline Fowler didn't like Den, so I'm sure she would have been proud of her dog-shaped doorstop for taking care of him.
Andrew Chapman Earlier in the episode, they had a heart-to-heart conversation and may have made the peace.
Oh shit, I forgot about that. But then this was 12 years ago.
I bet Chrissie was terrified when he run over to her like that
Don't worry; he'll be back! :P
Shelby what did you have breakfast today Tm chilln
Chrissie fixed den good and proper
Get Sam and Chrissie Back !
what did he do :?
i no Chrissie has been sent down 2 life in prison 4 killing Den, Zoe left but if she comes back i think she can get arrested and sent down 4 18 months or more 4 whacking Den before Chrissie killed him and Sam came back last year and was sent down 4 18 months 4 Den's death but Sam didnt do anything if u look at that clip again
why axe den
this was only 2005, you talking like it was 1975
no the story is long done, there is nothing else you could do with it.
I'm Dirty Den!
To be honest after Dirty Den and Johnny Allen got killed off on Eastenders the show just plummeted
Last decent character Eastenders had..
RIP Leslie Grantham
He wasn't acting, he was a nasty character through and through.
And the first. Den was the first character in Eastenders to have the first line.
That was a killer face from Den
The way how he rammed her face in that fruit machine tho ??
Den was an evil nasty piece of work but he did love his "Princess"😌❤️.
Shelby what are you doing today what did you doing today
Dirty Den flicked my bean and threw chrissie against a fruit machine NOW that would make him very meen
THEY KILLED HIM.....
I miss that Sam.
Shelby what day Watching today
That Zoe was well fit , wander how old she is now?
Lol
I Think Chrissie Deserves it She Want Sam Zoe Come To Vic What He Like and She Want Revenge For Den He Chasing Chrissie Grab Her Dragging Her Hitting Her Head Game Machine Zoe Was Defending Her She Grabbed The Door Dog Statue Wracked Him Out
the violence was ott
sam was useless....what a wimp....the other sam would not be afraid of a scrap to the death lol
eh den was a 6 foot plus grown man- what the hell could sam or any of them there have done as they were all women and both half his size and strength? In reality unless 1 of them stabbed him with a knife or something there was little they could have done cos he would have being too strong.
Aaaaahhhhh ffffiiiiigggghhhhttttt
@TheXenibear whoops i mean *anyone*
zoe hit den on the back yet he gets knocked out-would'nt happen
Sam was helpful 😂
I don't like dirty den. I hope that one day Kurt Angle beats up Dirty Den.
Kiranpal Singh his dead 😂.
Why would Kurt Angle beat him up? You must be 10.
@EEKalfie yes same here. its such a shame eastenders is such crap now.
