I am an engineer, so I love the math and the detail keep it up. I need to go back and watch the video again, because one thing I was interested in was the "breakpoint" if you will, of when Defense Reduction vs Weaken occurs. So, when I should be more worried about one vs the other if I have to make a choice.
Weaken is just a flat 25% boost. It does the opposite to strengthen. So they should be considered as independent issues to some extent (as Weaken will always just increase final damage by 25% linearly).
@@HHGamingNetwork Thank you. And I get that. But sometimes I have to choose which one to bring to a party. So my question was aimed at guiding that decision. If I have a choice, which one should I bring-which I assume changes over time as you fight progressively harder champions.
@@stevennagy3905 i might have miss understod your question but my answer would be if your fighting targets whit high defence defence down is bether if you fight targets whit low defence weaken will do more for you, this is ofcourse a generalisasion,
To me this is definitely in the Top 3 of most important videos I've watched for the game. I was unaware that transfer effects happened BEFORE C.DMG multiplication, for example.
Really like these informative mechanics videos! So much of raid is under the hood and not explained or is explained poorly. Going to link this to our clan's discord to get people the chance to make better choices.
Thanks for the video! Did not know the exact mitigation calculations only a general sense of things like ally protect taking raw damage, which makes it such a powerful mitigation skill. Regarding other mechanics though, like transfer effects calculating crit damage based on the Ally Protect champ's multiplier was news to me, so thanks very much for that. All in all, very informative and educational. Hope to see more!
new for me was the order in which stages dmg is calculated especially with the blessings, so thank you for the breakdown. it was short and sweet and will help me in the future.
Cruelty works surprisingly good in Clan Boss! Right after blessings were introduced i've got a drop of 6 star soul for Bonekeeper. After looking at damage mitigation graph i worked out that using her in unm cb (only use besides faction wars i can see for her), with Cruelty, would give under 5% damage increase, so i didn't thought it's worth to build her at all. That's pretty much the number you are giving in this video. But soon after my clanmate said, that with 3 star Cruelty he started doing about 10% more damage in clan boss. So i started using her in unm cb, and right away got about 18% damage increase! That is comparing Helicath, who was doing pretty similar numbers in different runs, before and after using Cruelty (i checked his numbers in couple of runs). Also overall damage went significantly up, so for whatever reason it's not 5%, but close to 20%. No idea why, but that's the way it works...
Wow! You are WAY above my head! LOL, I just want to play the game and have fun doing it. Granted I dont always have fun. Hum, could it be because I am overlooking the details?? LOL Thanks for the info and just so you know, I did learn a bit in spite of myself.
when your champion who is under a decrease defense is buffed with increase defense, does their defense value return to its default value ? super video as always ! love these breakdown videos
Saph, just a quick request on how much of cdmg, atk, and other stats are needed to down the waves in dungeons. This is in relation with Seer and other top-end wave nukers.
Hey! Best way is to use GPU Optimiser and Go Damage mode and setup the battle tab for your target (seer even has a number of buffs field) When you use the skills tab it'll show you the calculated damage for any champ
I love this maths videos. Just an extra doubt, if you have to consider Dutchess or Strengthen where does it goes in the ecuation? Before the damage mitigation or after all the damage mitigation is done you take the 20% off?
Not sure if i got that right. When you say transfer damage reduction is multiplicative... does that mean for example a guardian set does less in total when i have Norog in the same team? I've built him in guardian because i thought... he's the guy i want to bring in when i can't reduce damage with buffs and then the set will help even further. Which i guess is still true... but i might reconsider my choice.
Theres actually a whole level of additional complexity. If you check the channel there is a video where I go into detail with Ally Protection. Its basically Team order specific when it comes to transferring damage and it has a relationship with damage reduction multiplication effects like duchess passive.
love if you did a video on speed! does a champion with 200 speed get 2 turns for every turn a 100 speed champion gets... + breakpoints.... 200-290 speed wasted but 291 speed = 3 turns??? 30% speed buff applied that turn or the next turn? 30% turn meter push affected by speed? does a 150 speed nuker with 200% crit damage do more damage to say.... hard doom tower waves vs a 250 speed champion with 150% crit damage...
i have a ruel in savage and cruel paired with mithrala for DT hard wave clear, still havent had a problem clearing it.. Have yumeko and kymar as resets on the waves
does cruelty stack? meaning, if i am running a dungeon with 5 champs all having 1 star cruelty, is the DEF being decreased to 25% or is it just decreasing to 5% because all of the champs I use are only 1 star awakening and cant go past that? Only reason i ask is because I was running multiple champs in cruelty at 1 star awakening and on each hit the cruelty blessing would appear and a "decrease def" would also appear, but after 5 total hits from the allotment of champions it would no longer proc this. To me, it looks like the cruelty doesnt stack but cant seem to find a consistent answer anywhere
Palarium put out a post on discord that HH did a video on yesterday (I think?). In effect the total values don't stack, once the max level for a particular soul lvl has been reached, that champs cruelty will no longer decrease defense further.
How this topic would look like from another person: 1) 2 min channel logo with loud music 2) 10 minutes of stories about what he pulled yesterday. 3) Back to the topic of the video! "Idk man, the more defense you have- the better, that's how I feel. Like, Subscribe, See ya!"
Well there is alot of value in pushing to around 3200 with def buff (early game) or 4400 (late game). I put a progression state to make the numbers realistic. No value after 4400 with Def buff imo
thanks for the effort but the equations listed are incomplete as far as i can tell. there 5 '(' and 4 ')', and therefore not in balance. Besides that you have redundant parenthesis enclosing single values making even more difficult to read as you chosen to display the equations in a format suited for the computer but not the human eye. i guess this is how it should be for the combined one: 0,85*(1-2,718^(-2*(def-(def*0.6)-((def-(def*0.6))*ignoreVal))/3000)) or the slightly more human readable one only suited for human eyes 0,85*(1-2,718^(-2*(def-0,6*def-((def-0,6*def)*ignoreVal))/3000))
Hmm. This seems different from my experience, unless I'm misunderstanding. Toragi had 80k HP and 1500 def and would get killed so quick vs Kaiden who has 40k HP and 4k def. I reduced Toragi to 65k HP and 2500 def and he has much better survival
Theres a balance = depends heavily on whether its being debuffed or not and who you're facing (was it strong vs weak affinity etc). The EHP Calculation in the Optimiser is a good way to see which champion build is tankier.
That damage transfer section, explaining the calculation of crit damage... damn... so valuable to know that. Thank you!!!
yeah, that explains the super low damage that the ally protect champ takes when built this way... now i gotta check my Ursuga! lol

❤ amazing job well done. Going to watch this a few times so that information sinks in. Thank you.

Yep 1 counter-acts the other
Great content as always
You rock my man great video as all alway...thanks
Great video!
Wonderful review.

After the calc
Its part of the final Damage Multiplication Reduction effect
Thanks

Aol 😅😮

Will Gnuts A3 stack multiply with cruelty or does one override the other?
Is it possible to get the spreadsheet ?
Do Guardian sets stack, as in multiple champs wearing Guardian sets and mitigating dmg for entire team?
Great vids, love the math behind the madness
They do but its team order :) So The highest guardian takes 10% of 100% then the next guardian takes 10% of the remaining 90% etc
love if you did a video on speed!
does a champion with 200 speed get 2 turns for every turn a 100 speed champion gets...
Ruel in PvE is a monster.
I love these "nerd videos". I'm an audio/music person so I see things in numbers as it is.
Wow quite counterintuitive I expected ignore damage would benefit less from Savage. Never used it on my arena Inquisitor

I'll be releasing a video today to clarify this!

3) Back to the topic of the video! "Idk man, the more defense you have- the better, that's how I feel. Like, Subscribe, See ya!"
huh that why my toragi get one shotted if the enemy does an aoe
looks like there's no need to have more than 2,5K defense for CB team, when you have a permanent defense buff
Well there is alot of value in pushing to around 3200 with def buff (early game) or 4400 (late game). I put a progression state to make the numbers realistic.
No value after 4400 with Def buff imo

i guess this is how it should be for the combined one:
0,85*(1-2,718^(-2*(def-(def*0.6)-((def-(def*0.6))*ignoreVal))/3000))
or the slightly more human readable one only suited for human eyes
0,85*(1-2,718^(-2*(def-0,6*def-((def-0,6*def)*ignoreVal))/3000))

holy fuck 5 minutes and I fell asleep, talk about dry and monotone, and WAY TO MUCH DETAIL.
Understand :) its not for everyone! Appreciate you watching for the 5 minutes tho!
