Thank you for this awesome video Saph. I found this video after I made an ignorant comment on Chosen's video about his Bolster Sets that he crafted. I assumed that using HP% substat charms were a double edged sword and possibly screwing him out of better pieces and someone commented that I misunderstood how they worked. I found your video and now I have the correct understanding of it. In that case the HP% Substat charms CANNOT hurt you from getting HP% as a primary stat. They can only help, but it helps significantly more for Rare and Epic gear rather than Legendary gear. Amazing explanations and detail! Thank you again.
This was definitely informative but I still feel a bit overwhelmed about it. Great to know that the materials stick around. Haven't seen one of those clanVclan tournaments yet but if I do I'll definitely try crafting some things. Thanks for the information! Well played.
As an end game player, this is the best channel for me actually learning something new and this video definitely did that. I will say that my unpopular opinion is that Dark Fae is a hundred times worse than Bommal. I've got multiple solution to auto Bommal and I still have to manual Dark Fae so I can't farm those mats.
I have found that farming DT bosses for Untouchable and Lethal gear has been significantly more effective in terms of getting better gear than farming dungeons for Immunity and Savage, and I genuinely wondered if it was just me, so all this is incredibly interesting to me .
And here was me thinking everyone knew about the fixed 50% on the first substat thing! It's why I always use Type charms with Substat charms to try and get the piece away from the slot where the substat I want could end up in the mainstat.
If the charmed substat is supposed to be taken out of the pool after the #1 substat slot, it's not coded properly. I just did some forging as a test and the charmed substat CAN and DID show up below the #1 slot for me.
i can confirm. i used a Crit DMG charm and one of the items was a rare Weapon with Crit Rate followed by Crit DMG. every other item either had Crit DMG as the first roll, or not at all.
VEry helpful video thank you . Im close to unlocking doomtower. I got 50 corehammer. You tell us to wait, but this is where i get confused. Can i use them for anything else than swift parry? If not i could miss out on a 6 star perfect stat piece, i can just switch around until i get complete sets
Hi Saph love this type of information. I have only just come across your contributions because of when you covered a couple of times for HH. You may have answered the following before. Is it possible to download your spreadsheets from anywhere?
4 sets.. you should go for weapon, helm, shield. Because most of the time it's much easier to fight a really good off piece that you need to fill glove-chest-boots.. with a 2 set. That said. You still need to find at least one hopefully good glov-chest-bootie to complete the set.
Don't know if it's a bug, but I forged a bunch of Guardian today for CVC while using speed charms and the speed substat was sometimes not in the first slot.
Heyy love the in depth content!!...very refreshing and fascinating!!...Still a question that I haven't seen alot of video's on about the forge is for every set what is the best substat to use for each doom tower set and at each level the player is in the game...E.g Guardian set for early to mid game maybe hp% substat is better but speed would be better at late game...would love to hear an expert opinion on it.
magisteel efficiency question. having maxed great hall, i often sit with magisteel maxed and don't use all my arena tokens in gold V. seems inefficient. speculation on most efficient use upper bound: 39 arena battles per day x ~5 magisteel per battle x 2 wks = 2730 magisteel. so forge pass aside, i should run magisteel down to 10,000-2730 = 7270 during CvC. does this make sense? any other comments on magisteel efficienty?
That is the efficient strategy. Unless you have a huge backlog of materials saved though, I find my magisteel still capping since I am winning 95-99% of my fights in recent months after the classic changes.
I always save defense %, attack %, hp % boots, with speed substat, so if I use a speed substat charm on boots I have a chance to make it a primary stat on the boots?
Substat charms dont affect the primary stat = it jsut means if piece rolls with Speed then charm you used (speed) is consumed but gives you zero benefits as you can no longer roll speed sub stat
can't you use substat charms to negate undesirable substats? for instance i use a ATK charm and if it fails the first roll, i then know for certain none of the rolls will be attack. seems like it can be used as a way to remove undesirable stats if you fail the first roll.
I think your math on the chance for a substat without a charm is off, as a stat can only appear once. So on a lego piece the chance for cRate is 1/10 + 1/9 + 1/8 + 1/7, or am I forgetting something?
How do people have thousands of forge charms and still have bunch of gears from forge? Is there a place other than dt, cintrano, and events where i cam get charms?
I think the sub-stat math would even be changed depending on the “type” charm used relative to the “sub-stat” charm. In other words, because the sub-stat charm becomes irrelevant if the RNG places that stat as the primary, the sub-stat charms are best used when the particular sub-stat is not a possible primary stat of the “type” charm being used. For example: if you’re using a crit rate charm, usIng a type charm that is not a glove will increase your chances of getting a crit rate substat as opposed to no type charm at all.
I think it's fine for the charm to apply after the mainstat is decided, and to only apply a boost to the first substat, they were far more transparent with how all that works and I knew all rules but the last since the forge dropped. I think the final rule is the only one which devalues the intuitive value of a substat charm to an unfair degree, the other substat rolls should still be able to clutch. It's unfair to call it shady when that info has been available the whole time, we just didn't read it properly, especially when the forge brought so much value.
Hi, i think the deifference between the unboosted and boostes sub stat is even worse, because you have 10% chance at the first roll, and 11 at the second(because 2 stats from 11 is already used) and 12,5% at the third rolls(already used 3 of the 11 stat) and 14,28 at the 4th so summarized this with boosted the chances is cca 48% from the 4 sperarate rolling and 50% with boosted and rolling it at the first so the difference is only a little bit more than 2%
Ok Clarify this for me: If you use a Substat Charm, does that lower the chances of that Substat being rolled as a Primary Stat? IE: If I use Speed Substat Charm and Boots Charm, does that mean I'll have less chance of getting Speed Primary Stat on Boots? What i'm hoping is if I use a Accuracy Charm with Chest Piece Charm, I'll have less chance of getting Accuracy Primary too
FASTER SILVER FARM: Summon everything then use filter - just new and sell all 3-4 stars then go through and cleanse flat stats and bad substats then start your rolling!
I don't think it's that big a deal that they have those extra rules on Substat charms. They need those rules in to make it so that a substat charm gives you a clean 50% chance of getting a piece with that substat. Otherwise it would always be much higher than 50%. It's a bit egregious to call Plarium 'shady' for this. It's just their way of making substat charms have the desired effect without changing the coding of how substat rolls are generated too much.
It is a bit shady in the sense that it doesnt clearly state those additional rules on the face of it. For me it should boost the chance on any of the substats.
@@HHGamingNetwork I politely disagree :) The charm description is "50% chance" and these rules make it a 50% chance. If it was a 50% chance for each substat it would be more than a 50% chance overall. It would be two, three or four 50% chances!
Plus where else would they put all those rules? They can't have all that information clogging up the main interface of the forge.. It's not 'hidden' it's just not on the front.
I dont think your odds of getting a 6s artifact are ever as high as 50% - I think this is an example of plairum playing funny with the math and advertising. Using rarity charms - seems like more like a tick better than 25% chance to get 6s - perhaps its actually 70/30 5/6s using rarity charms. Definitely not 50/50.
I can only read what the code tells me and this is the resulting probabilities. To be fair every other scenario in which they use these types of odds systems always end up being correct.

Man, I am really enjoying your videos. Love all the data you bring!

Thank you for putting out great content! Super thankful to have you producing Raid content along HH. Keep it up!~
Thanks! Appreciate it and glad its helpful!
Always love your way to breaking down the math for everyone, keep the good work going :)

You need your own channel, man. Top notch.
god this channel is a wealth of information - nobody has this information! not even plarium sometimes!!

Nope its just the power of rank/rarity paired with getting the same set. Forge is great for getting specific sets.
And here was me thinking everyone knew about the fixed 50% on the first substat thing! It's why I always use Type charms with Substat charms to try and get the piece away from the slot where the substat I want could end up in the mainstat.
Can you discuss about artifacts that we can forge? For example, which forge artifacts are good for mid or end game.
Keep up the great work. I built me a team with the new sheild set and it is nasty my hep takes a hit from trunda and survived

Very interesting, great job as usual Saph

Starting to like these vids more than HH's 😉
DUDE THIS IS AWESOME ! THX ALOT

like #100 on the video - i am feeling like a king right now. thanks for the insight. learned something new
When will the link activate for url champs waiting

Im convinced that type charms does the oposite.. I NEVER get the type I select. So if I want a weapon I pick another type charm for more chance. xD
can't you use substat charms to negate undesirable substats? for instance i use a ATK charm and if it fails the first roll, i then know for certain none of the rolls will be attack. seems like it can be used as a way to remove undesirable stats if you fail the first roll.
according to the math, that is not a good way to negate substats because there's a higher chance to get the stat when using charms.

That logic seems to be very sound mate! 👍

Crafting 3-4 star gear is useful for completing clan quests. Just roll them without charms and make some silver from the sale

This would work better with a dark mode for your Excel spreadsheet.
love it :) thanks :)

superb
FASTER SILVER FARM: Summon everything then use filter - just new and sell all 3-4 stars then go through and cleanse flat stats and bad substats then start your rolling!
So basically, Substat charms basically suck
Basically :P
Substat charms are completely useless . If anything , they seem like they are working AGAINST me when I use them .
I don't think it's that big a deal that they have those extra rules on Substat charms. They need those rules in to make it so that a substat charm gives you a clean 50% chance of getting a piece with that substat. Otherwise it would always be much higher than 50%.

wrong. your wrong.
i use substat charms and getting the substat also in slot 2,3,4 on the substats. so its not true.
I just tested out, and got the same outcome as you claim
