      @@ConfidenceGold Hey bro, I've been a self-development junkie for years now but I started watching Owen's content from November, attended the Virtual World Summit and in about 4 months I've learnt more about myself than I did in the last 5 years. And I finally started taking action and getting results.

      @isumitallup Рік тому +1

      @@ConfidenceGold Holy shit man, with Owen it's like every week I have a big aha moment.
      The biggest one I'd say is proof not promises. The problem with me was that before finding Owen I was just reading books and watching self development content and not taking any action which is why I was not getting any results.
      And basically I realised that I was just reading the books and watching the videos for entertainment, I guess it's called productive procrastination.
      So, by doing these things I felt like I was learning and making progress but in reality I wasn't.
      And so, what I understood was that I need to give my brain actual proof by implementing what's in the books or in the videos and then my brain will believe it and I'll reach that next paradigm.
      And that's exactly what I started doing, I actually started implementing the things that I already knew and immediately started getting results and started seeing things that Owen talks about being payed out in my own life.
      The 2nd most important thing I'd say is that you need a mentor or a coach.
      If you could do it alone, you already would have done it.
      I wasted 5 years to understand things, just thinking about the opportunity cost makes me mad.
      Opportunity cost is also a big one, I've pretty much doubled my productivity in the last 2-3 months, I found out that I had I'll defined boundaries and so I read a book on it, immediately implemented what I learnt, and got immediate results.
      Same thing with listening, I was terrible at listening to other, if anyone would con up to me and talk about their problems, I'd immediately tell them exactly what they should do to solve it but that's not what the other person wanted, they actually wanted validation and I didn't get that so I read a book on it because I had this feedback from multiple people that I don't listen and give advice too quickly, so I read a couple of chapters from a book on that, implemented it, and got immediate results.
      There are so many things that you can do, 7 Habits of Highly Effective People actually started landing on me after listening to Owen, I had read it twice before but now I just see opportunities so implement the 7 Habits all the time.
      So yeah these are pretty much the big things.
      How's your journey going?
      What are your key takeaways?

    • @ConfidenceGold
      @ConfidenceGold Рік тому

      @@isumitallup journey is fine. I've been doing letting go for about a year. My results is excellent if we compare it to me in the beginning of 2022. I was half-depressed half-fearful creature with no goals and even can't speak with women. Now I've healed all traumas and moving on to making money, living without parents and I've been with a girlfriend for half a year. So I watched Julien and read a ton of books he suggested. But honestly implemented only one. Its obviously letting go book. My relationship with the world and universe is good. I'm waking up in the good mood and easily can talk with people. So for me it's very good result. I'm moving towards abundance thinking and super powerful social skill to influence mass of people. That's probably it. Thanks for sharing your way, bro.

    You know im still homeless man, have been since 2019, i had a bunch of people, you can probably relate to this, who COULD NOT ACCEPT that i was making lasting effective changes to myself...that i was making a total commitment to changing. To the point that these vindictive people conspired against me, i was cherry picked and brutallyyyy pigeonholed, WHILE going through terrible health problems. I literally, like you, just took a faithleap man. Im on top of the mountain now, if other people cant accept redemption and spirituality, thats their issue. I know you can relate. Im in a lot of pain still, but my joy isnt circumstancia any longer. Im so beat down from circumstance and sleeping outside, my exhaustion comes off as apathy to a lot of people, both strangers and friends alike...

  • @QuixoticOdyssey
    @QuixoticOdyssey Рік тому

    I think what you're really trying to do is to take domesticated animals and make them wild again. Coming alive is more complicated then just putting us in the wild because we're humans, but I think it's the same thing in spirit. So the question is, how to ignite the catalyst inside people that undoes all the domesticating. This is what self-reliance, ralph waldo emerson's most famous essay, was all about. Also, I think one of the main reasons Jesus taught it is better to give than receive is because not having everything you need all the time is good for you. How do you permanently ingrain in people's minds that having life in you is more important than feeling safe and comfortable? How do you teach people to resist domestication? Those are the questions. I don't know the answers, but I'm sure whoever is able to do this for people will have their love and appreciation because it's true freedom.
    I believe one must build a monument to self-reliance in his mind. Human beings are powerfully influenced by one another, and if you worship something beautiful within yourself, you can teach others to do the same.

      @@OwenCookSelfHelp Interesting point, Owen. I can see how one might view both eastern philosophy and hardcore Christianity as pointing to the same spiritual truth. However, from a cultural perspective, there are some stark differences. For example, Buddhism has played a significant role in shaping Japanese culture, while Protestantism has had a profound impact on American culture. So, when we consider the materialistic aspects of these two belief systems, there are certainly notable distinctions between them.

    • @kylestephens9593
      @kylestephens9593 Рік тому +2

      @@ErickAsteriason we only need to consider these aspects in an academy situation or when we debate cultural development of nations/regions. for our purposes here it doesn't really matter and takes us further away from the point, which is realising that there are some universal truths in life, no matter what religious denomination you are (or non-religious at all) they still exist and we need to know them.

    • @ErickAsteriason
      @ErickAsteriason Рік тому

      @@kylestephens9593 I understand your point, Kyle, about there being universal truths in life that transcend religious beliefs. However, I don't think that invalidates the importance of understanding the cultural and individual impact that religion can have. For example, the influence of Buddhism on Japanese culture has undoubtedly had an impact on the personal development of individuals in Japan. If someone is interested in personal development, it's worth considering how different belief systems may impact their growth and understanding of those universal truths.
