      TH did it in 1999 before anyone had ever successfully landed one. Once that “barrier” is broken (i.e. someone landed it so it IS possible), it’s inevitable that others will land it too. As skating has progressed, so has equipment, facilities, etc. This makes it not just possible but probable that more and more guys will land it. Believe me, TH is pumped others have landed 900’s clean. He’ll always be known for landing it first. And let’s be clear - landing this on a regular vert ramp is way more difficult than on a mega ramp quarter. All props to Mitchie for stomping this one!

    This kid would later pull off the first ever 1260, and now teaches kids how to skate. If Andy Anderson is the successor to Rodney Mullen, Mitchie Brusco is definitely the successor to Tony Hawk

    Cleaner than Tony’s first 900. But to be fair, Tony dropped in, and Mitchie rolled in. Maybe that has something to do with it.

      the roll-in responsible for the 'initial boost' adds nothing. any vert skater able to pull a 9 is also able to build up the necessary speed and height after a regular drop-in.

      Nah the ramp doesn't help him at all if he's not gonna do it the first time as you can see he did it in the third one meaning the slight energy given by the ramp decreased with those 2 wasted jump

    he wasnt the first or the youngest, some 12 year old did it last year. Not to mention thats a megaramp, not a half pipe. If tony had grown up on a megaramp rather than the pipe, he would be famous for the 1800 not the 900

    Está genial este chico, sin duda, pero Tony Hawks es y será el mejor de la historia. No sólo el 900..toda su carrera, su historia, sus trucos, su valentía, constancia, gracias a él el Skate vive.
    Se podría decir que es el Tesla del Skate??

    Can anyone tell me?? The difference betwen Tony hawk 900 ramp vs this kids... I think Tony's ramp is shorter and he's not in a high position above the RAM.

    Burnquist had the best style out of the last generation of skateboarders, and was probably the most likable.
    Tony Hawk is an awesome dude, but I've always thought of Bob as being way cooler.

    They can "do" 900s, they just don't because the odds of landing them are quite little. Mitchie can do them with ease because he is smaller, and therefore can spin quicker. He doesn't have a huge variety of tricks like PLG or Lassek.
    It's not one trick which wins you the gold, it's a succession of many tricks which are difficult in their own right, but done back to back.

    yeah but it doesn't really count because when Tony did it, the gear was not that good, nor was the wooden ramp that wide/traversible. Tony did it under way harsher conditions and not these perfectly oiled little "everyone's a professional now" boards.

      You do realize tony hawk was the first to ever make it right? And at a way older age. On top of the when hawk was skating there was still precendents still being made at the time.
