I just tried running the text files through DECtalk, and I have to say... I've never seen a better demonstration of just how insane and important mixing/producing is when it comes to making music. Like, you can see the individual bits that go into the Moonbase Alpha parts, but they're all pre-processing.
I aint too fond of the vocaloid space around the internet BUT I know like 5 of them, still, the moonbase alpha speech synthesis is unbeatable as for DRIP and style.
John Madden is just his stage name. That beautiful voice belongs to the great Stephen Hawking, he lent his voice synth to humanity and the public domain, so it was used in Moonbase, to the delight of all.

The voice in use is "Paul", which is the default voice of the DECTalk speech synthesis system created by Dennis Klatt and formerly sold by Digital Equipment Corporation (AKA DEC). The system is also known as MITTalk and KlattTalk. Hawking's chosen voice is close to "Paul", but modeled off of Klatt's own patterns. Klatt is not on the black book.
Im so glad people are still making moonbase covers, this combination genuinely goes hard and its one of those pieces of gold that really deserves way more recognition!

Even though he was one of the first successful and widespread text-to-speech digital voices, we never grew tired of the understated elocution and cadence of his doopy lil' robot enunciation. Even in the face of modern AI voices he holds up. Theres no uncanny valley, "is this a real human or an unsettling mockery of one", Sam is abundantly clear about what he is and can do. So hats off to Mr Sam. I expect we will always have him in some small part of our electronics. I'd definitely give a robot Sam's voice over an Alexa any day.
