thank you, this is beautiful. this is a problem of mine. when I am alone I am at peace and calm and I can go back to that part of me easily but when I am surrounded by people I loss touch again with my true self and become unconscious. so I have to keep practicing quieting my mind and being at peace always until it becomes my all-day natural state (which it already is my natural state) I just have to let it out on the surface, let it come through, and it's the one facing my everyday life. means being aware an conscious or being spirit like or making my higher self present in every situation. nobody can teach one these things .. my journey into mindfulness has been some weird form of reverse engineering .. but i'm there now, content with my mindset and place in the metaverse .. 10 years ago i was a different person, lost in space ... now i am completely centred, amazing how a mind can evolve with a little persistence.
oddly, the first step toward mindfulness in my case was a course of Beta blockers, which made me realize i had been incapable of thinking clearly for over 20 years due to heightening levels of anxiety which eventually became nightmarish .. solved surprisingly immediately by the meds .. i don't even really need them now as i have developed a coping mechanism, but they gave me the space in my head to become mindful .. mindfulness is the willful control of all emotions and mental processes .. my mind will do what i want it to do .. my body will go where i want it to go etc .. hopefully .. as a mortal i am generally kinda melancholy but, like the ancient geeks, give me a couple of drinks and i can heartily laugh at the absurdity of the universe ... oh BTW, i'm a behaviorist too

If the name I is given when awareness forgets itself then awareness doesn't know that the name I refers to itself because that is the very thing that forgets by becoming apparently ignorant or limited, the only thing that it does not forget is itself without any limitation, but when it comes to apparent limitations by which it forgets itself, it cannot apparently have any knowledge of itself. So this model is inconsistent.
@Bardo teachings: Props. Exactly the right question to ask (!) "I am" is NOT the only dimension of our True Nature. And an entirely different type of Inquiry and Realization is necessary to approach the other dimensions . . . in their own terms (and not, as Spira does, as derivative of "I am"). The most that Spira seems to be willing to concede about that in these videos . . . is that Tantra is an equally legitimate path to Advaita. That's good . . . but he way underestimates the possibilities of Tantra. Your answer lies there, in my opinion . . .
When the I'm is no longer separate from it's presence in the subject/object relationship, the I am sinks into it's own presence. Initially the experience of this presence is felt as peace from a dual perspective of subject/object with the I'am. However, once the I'am surrenders into it's own presence it becomes non-dual, and this is Bliss. Bliss is the true quality of your nature. It is peace when peace becomes known by being it instead of experiencing it. Most people don't get to this stage and stop at the peaceful experience of presence.
