"We have to make an effort to not be aware" . That is the realization that is needed.

It’s also interesting to see a person stuck in the frustration of the mind. Searching for this “something” that isn’t actually there and can’t be achieved. I understand and know this dance very well. It’s nice to see Rupert patiently show us the error of this way.

Great! Thought A upset thought B and Though C to D and so on But when we realize that we are not part of this monkey alphabet but the empty book in which all letters appears and disappear happiness and peace arise spontaneously even in the presence of all these thoughts Thank you again Rupert for leading me to this wonderful understanding

You are always aware of being aware. Awareness needs to be aware of itself in order to be aware at all.

This is amazing "Awareness is never upset, Only thoughts can be upset by thoughts!" yes of course...just never heard those words... All the little bits in it...everyone of them is such a gem. Feeling it in the emptiness...then the best part is her little "ok", at the very end. Made tears arise.

When we simply look, isn't it obvious that everything experienced at this moment exists because of the conscious-awareness of it? We are the conscious-aware-knowing; we are the loving light that gives birth, space, sustenance and existence to all life and universe.
Thank you beloved Rupert for your clear pointing and sharing. For two decades I was strongly attracted to non-duality, yet totally flummoxed -- until you (the other teachers no doubt put cracks in the egg; but you dropped it on the floor.)
Funny how -- at first -- one can not see or know conscious-awareness like an object (later it is seen as everything), because it is too close, too intimate. It is clearly our authentic being. When it is realized it is so obvious. So damn obvious.
    Thank you Rupert.

That was so crystal clear. I love how he gives her a practice that anyone can do, anyone. Wonderful. I've been listening to Rupert for several months now and find his videos to be generally a step above many of the other nonduality teachers out there today, cutting through the BS. Not much humor or animation, sadly, but great pointers. Thank you, Rupert!!!

In the end she (her mind) needed something to do, so Rupert provided what he’d call a compassionate concession. Instead of any old thing though, he provided which is probably the closest pointers he could’ve done under the circumstances.

For Predrag Ivanović: what you write is right, yet you use your mind ( intellect) a lot to argue or prove your point. Intellectual argues, but a sage (one who trully knows through experience) announces. Let each bud open in its own season, we cannot force it. Topli pozdrav.

    WONDERFUL AND HELPFUL Q&A.🙏❤️
I totally get your questions and feelings.
I was feeling the same way. The 3rd year things seemed to be much clearer.
    1. Listen to the thoughts, they are passing.
    2. Focus on your goal, judge less, and less....
    3. Do the right thing from love. Feel NO GUILT for mistakes, just make them right
(Somethings can be redone, otherwise no need to go back, just do not repeat)
    4. Listen and respond only from your true Source, Focus inwardly not external
    confusion.
    5. As Rupert said, you will realize who awareness is whether the thoughts diminish or not.
    6. Forgive yourself and others constantly
Nothing is more important than GOD.
    7. Take your time. There's no going back. You shall succeed.
    God bless❤️🙏

+Tenzin Thinley no, i think she didn't- she only knows the 'correct answer'. What she got for a very short moment was that judging her thoughts and dissatisfaction with not getting her desire fulfilled was just another thought. All Rupert's attempts passed by her- she heard what was said but could not go beyond it. She is still very much understanding all this from the point of view of 'a receptor' reporting everything- from her thoughts to her openness and her awareness to HER. i experienced the same frustration of having the 'correct' answers and yet feeling that i am false as i keep wallowing in the lie. This because i was still perceiving things as outer and inner where the inner wants to get something from the outer, not allowing the body-mind be perceived as part of what is perceived, indistinguishable [part] of the now/being.

I experience many people dipping their toes in non duality who sound like this woman. And I don't mean that in a judgemental way. I get the sense that understanding isn't what they need. No amount of understanding will help because ultimately they do understand. The issue isn't understanding it's that the "overlooking" as Rupert calls it is meeting a need. And simply taking away the overlooking without showing them how the need will be met in a different way isn't going to work. It's like somebody wearing a life jacket in water. You know the person can actually swim and get to the shore easily but they are bobbing around in the life jacket saying the want to get out the water. If I just take the life jacket but they don't know they can swim they are going to panic and drown. I need first to show them they can swim before I try to take the life jacket away. Not a great analogy but it kind of works. Ultimately with "understanding" we are trying to take away the thing they are holding on to to stay afloat and expecting them to know they can stay afloat by themselves. But they don't feel that. They feel they will drown. Understanding won't change the feeling. Even Rupert says it's 10%belief and 90% feeling. I suspect there is too much emphasis on understanding and very little exploration of the feeling that is accompanying it.

    • @MatthewPepper-v9e
      @MatthewPepper-v9e Місяць тому

Another way to approach this is to use Rupert question, "who is bothered by that?" . Ask ourselves that question when somebody has these objections. Who is bothered that they don't get it? Our efforts to convince them that awareness is always present belies our fear that it actually isnt. If we are truly anchored in the knowing that awareness is always present then we don't need to argue with the thoughts that say it isn't. And because we don't try to convince the other and change the 10% they will have an opportunity to feel that we are not making their seeming ignorance real. They will feel it. The 90%. Awareness doesn't need to convince people that it is always present.
