I'm glad you changed out the coffee table. I kept thinking "hmm., leaving that might be a mistake..." I think you could go with a round one later if you wanted. The basket one was probably inexpensive, so if someday you fall in love with something else, it's not a big deal to change out. That is a GORGEOUS room.
I've been obsessed with painting my window frames black for years but I was in an apartment but now that I'm finally in a place where I can paint and decorate again (oh, how I missed having a place that was my own!) I remember thinking, "oh, the first thing I'm doing is painting the windows black and they're gonna look so elegant.." but, these are not that kind of window at all. This place was built in 96 (by some people that really didn't give a damn but that's another story) & these windows are the double hung type (I think that's what its called) with one vinyl grid in between two pieces of glass to give the appearance of window panes. The only good thing is how easy it is to clean them as they tilt in but I would love to at least pull the grid out for just a solid glass window but it's they don't come out. What i love about the black paint with your windows is the way they look with the vertical opening ... almost like French doors. It's a great look and so chic. It's got a European look to me (like I would know) and it was absolutely the right decision. I just love all you've done. That was a tough call with the sideboard because you made the other one but you made it work. I was surprised at red rug as there is so much brown in the floor and sofa and console already. It works well but I couldn't explain why. I'll have to look at the vid again where you show a similar design that inspired you.

I love it. Just a little advice.. about the coffee table, I think the reason why it's not feeling perfect is because there is to much rectangle shapes. I'm thinking like a soft triangle shape with round edges, like u had it one of ur past videos, I think it would make a huge difference. That is why Drew has a flourishing channel and viewers of all ages. I’m 60 and love him. He has worked hard to get his sponsors
I think this is the best room yet. I love how you incorporated your highs and lows and frustrations so we see its not always easy. I really love everything, so well put together the entire room is my favorite.
I think it would be easier for most of us if a high-end furniture company was willing to donate whatever furniture we wanted to make it happen. I love Drew, this room is beautiful, and his taste is exquisite, which is what ultimately brought everything together, but this definitely felt like his most privileged/inaccessible video yet. Like this is the first time I watched a Lone Fox video and thought “Welp, I definitely can’t make this happen.”

This looks great! However, I would love to see you do either a digital or sketched version of how you would have made it work with the furniture you already had. Most of us at home trying to do room makeovers don’t have the option of just replacing every single piece of furniture in a room. So, if you were stuck with your old couch, your old coffee table, and the media console you made, what would you have done?
@@merrinatrix there's also couch covers that you can buy that are made to fit over ikea/article couches, would have been more cost effective to do that rather than buy a whole new couch
This is amazing! Quick tip when you're hanging curtain rings 12:55. Hang one ring on the OUTSIDE of the support so it sits next to the finial which is the screw in part at the end. This makes your curtains look like there is more fabric to cover the rods, makes the overall look more finished, and best of all when you're closing the curtains they never pull away from the sides so you never have to go back and futz with them. You can dramatically sweep your curtains closed - voila! - and the ends will stay in place. It's fantastic. Also I'm going to go paint all my window frames black now thank you. Between you and McKenna I'm convinced!
What landlord would ever ask Drew to reverse any of the changes he made? We’ve done a lot of changes to our apartment inspired by Drew and our landlords are tickled at the work we’ve done! Haha!
LOOOOVE the black window trim!!! I loved it when MaCenna and I love that you got inspo from her! I feel like a round coffee table would be so perfect in the space and enhance the cozy vibes of that amazing sectional, but the basket is super cute too and functional. And the top of that bookcase would be the perfect spot for a beautiful trailing plant. Heart eyes at everything!
I love how you painted the windows black, makes such a difference. I just purchased a 150+ year old stone cottage in France (about 2.5 hours south of Paris) and I have a large collection of antiques. I'm planning on moving in around the first of the year and wanted to find ways to add pops of modern to go with the rustic wooden beams, stone, antiques, etc. Painting the windows will make such a difference in the space, so thank you so much for the idea. I can't wait to try it out. Also....I just found your channel this morning and have literally just watched six videos back-to-back. Love your style.
Drew, when you hang curtains with rings allow one ring closest to the finial to rest on the outside of the bracket. It will prevent the outside edge of the curtain from being pulled to the center when you pull your curtains closed. The curtain bracket will stop it from moving.
I really liked the makeover, it looks so inviting and warm in the living room. I still can't believe how good the black windows look. I wish though, you would've/could've done a version of the makeover with the couch and tv stand you already had. Like make it work. It's much more relatable to change out a couple pieces then being gifted all new furniture.
Agree about pooling curtains looking great. But if the fabric is not washable those bottoms are going to get pretty dirty fast...then what? I bought linen look curtains from Target that are not washable so made the sensible choice not to hang them long. Sometimes function is more important than form.
@@seagal-1 usually when they say not washable they mean washing machine. You can hand wash them and be as gentle as possible and use dye free soaps and stuff (and cold water to help not set stains) then let them air dry if you really want the look. Also, unless you have pets or live in a super dusty area, if you vacuum your house every week your curtains shouldn't be getting that dirty.
okay, I was low-key nervous when he said he wasn't digging the vibe from the console he built (and that brought him so much joy) and I was so happy to see it in its new home in the dining room, where it fits in like it always knew that's where its home was... #sogood. Great job Drew.
Same !!!!! My favorite was the dining room because I just love Chantilly lace White and the navy blue it just it's so me but this room I think is my favorite I literally want to replicate it into a house when I have my own house one day this is so beautiful oh my gosh Drew do it again and again and again in different rooms oh my gosh I'm going crazy this is just this makes me so happy
Wow! Just WOW! That black trim with the crisp white walls and curtains is simply stunning. I really appreciate that you went with the more muted tone rug, makes it look so cosy and inviting. Great choice to bring in more black. I think you are simply adorable, and so talented! I love watching you, you’re sweet, goofy nature always makes me giggle. THAT DANCE!! Teeheehee🤗! You seriously need your own main stream DIY show!
This is EXACTLY what I want to learn to do. I don't want something too trendy with all the farmhouse/shabby chic stuff that will look outdated by the time I can afford to pull together a room. I love the timelessness of the classy earthy eclectic with a bit of vintage and good artsy vibe. I don't even know what to call it. But THAT'S the kind of style I want to achieve. It looks like a lifetime of collecting art and great pieces but still current. I'm going to keep watching and hope I can pull it off!
Love the room truly, but I just can’t feel the coffee table. I think something, maybe Scandinavian?, or a vintage trunk? And maybe something in the lower half of the fireplace. Something painted on or mural? Live with it all and you will figure it out. Beautiful room.
Deborah Streb I agree about the coffee table, I think a round coffee table would be nice since everything else is square or rectangle except the accessories.
I’m English but I’ve lived in Spain for over twenty years. In England most rooms are placed with the fireplace as the focal point. In Spain my fires are wood burners so I’ve continued to place the furniture with the fire as the focal point. I love your make over and as always you do an amazing job and it looks right for the room. Love the black frames and the layout looks so cosy. You have a magical touch. Well done once again. 😘xx
That’s great that you got your Article items within a week bc you’re an influencer. I, however, have been waiting for an ottoman I purchased back in June. The arrival date has been pushed back three times. Going on 4 MONTHS without the item I already paid for.
Sometimes I can’t help but feel so envious of influencers receiving these furniture pieces for free because i’m currently living with a very broken couch and i’ve been saving for almost 1.5 years to replace it.
I'm over the fully article furnished videos. I'm not even finishing this video because of it tbh. Just so unrelatable. article is NOT affordable and to hear they don't even have good CS?? Fuck it. Give me literally any other brand at this point.
I love how you roll with the punches with figuring out what works and what doesn’t! I get so discouraged when I buy something and I just feel like it doesn’t work and don’t quite know how to fix it. I enjoy hearing your thoughts on how to solve certain issues!
Oh my gosh, your new place is STUNNING! so much character with those gorgeous push out windows, the fireplace and ceiling, the beautiful view out the window with mature trees and the wrought iron fencing. 😍😍 We live in a builder grade sort of home and while it's perfect for us, I crave adding character like this to it!! Would love to see a video on easy ways to add craftsman character to builder grade/basic homes!
It looks amazing!! Would be fun to see some books or logs inside the fireplace! And I think you could get away with some crazy sculptural vintage or stone coffee table, too!!
Yes, personally... I thought an irregular ovalish shaped coffee table with a white marble style table top would be nice there. I feel the space is too boxy.
I had a big rectangular coffee table. It was awkward to walk round and took up a lot of room. After living with it for a year, I swapped it out for 2 round tables (1 fits under the other) Best decision I've made. Looks so good, everyone loves it, no banging legs against the corners and still enough surface space on the tables. 😁
I recon it is so good that....you should check with him or her the land lord before you go,back to the original.... they may like what you’ve done and want it to stay!
@@sandygraetz5166 It's not up to the landlord (one word not two) whether or not this apt stays as is once he moves out. it's up to what the next tenant wants. who knows if the black frame industrial vibe will be in 2 years from now? just like the popcorn ceilings were removed when he moved in - - the landlord would've been just fine leaving the ceilings as is. property owners don't wanna spend any extra montee if they don't have to.
I loved that you didn’t totally know what you were doing and hearing your thought process as you figured it out! It looks beautiful, thanks for sharing!!
I know you'll get your Netflix show soon Drew! I was hoping Studio McGee would get one and they did which I'm so excited for. But there's such a gap in the market for what you do - stunning interior design on a budget with houses that most of us actually live in (rather than the beautiful but completely aspiration McGee projects). This makeover is just stunning - you keep outdoing yourself with every makeover video. Will you be doing anymore virtual makeovers? My living room/ diner is 50% done but I'm stuck on how to make it cosy/ fill the walls. Would love some tips.
While I absolutely understand trading furniture etc. for the exposure/advertising it brings to the company, it does make it difficult if someone wants to create a similar style but cannot afford such a high end purchase. Perhaps for at least a few areas of the room you could give diy options for a similar look. Couch slipcovers for example. Just a thought.
“My friend James.” Absolutely love that! So humble and talented! I literally started binging this channel bc I saw Drew in some of James Charles’ videos and couldn’t figure out what Drew did for a living and then I saw his face in a thumbnail and knew I had to subscribe!
I love that couch!! I think maybe a round ottoman coffee table to break up some of the sharp edges in your living would work a little better than that rattan one.
Love the windows! I’d really like to see a video about styling personal photos of family etc. Sometimes it can look cheesy/ garish so some advice on this would be awesome 👏🏼 love you Drew!
I love adding personal touches of family photos. There are so many cute frame options at Target, World Market, CB2 etc. I think if you select an appropriate frame, it's not cheesy at all! You can also reprint all the photos in black and white for a fun vintage element!
I'M SO EXCITED, I LIKED BEFORE WATCHING IT CAUSE I KNOW IT'S GONNA BE LITTTTTT. That intro thooo, it's soooo cute and beautiful. Fall is the best season for Lone Fox.
It does look great but my opinion would be to add another curtain in the middle of the large window and add 3 dark brown items to your beige book case.
OBSESSED!!! I am completely obsessed with Drew's vision when it comes to home interior decorating. I have been waiting for several episodes to pile up just so I can binge on all things Lone Fox in his new digs. This living room is EH-VER-EE-THING!!! (I would love to know what his landlord thinks.) I also LOVE the website!! It's so clean, well thought out, and easy to tool around in. I am not a DIY'er. I get such anxiety even thinking about painting or making a mistake. I just live vicariously thru Drew and watch the final amazing results. I am so glad he is using his gift to make the world just a little bit better.
Okay.... painting the window trim was a game changer!! I’m moving into my first apartment in January and I got super lucky bc the landlord is so nice and I’m hoping he’ll let me paint!! Landlords can be so unnecessarily stubborn, like hello, I’m doing YOU a favor!!!
Honey I've been waiting on my article sofa for months. Supposed to be here mid october. I got the Nirvana in cognac. Yay. I'm also painting my wall of bookcases black and the walls white. I'm excited. Article didnt care at all that I was redoing my living room. I paid big. 🙄🤣🤣🤣🤣 And now I'm too broke to do much more for my room. Now I see why stuff is so expensive. All the youtubers getting "gifted" $3000 pieces. Good for you, though. I dont have the balls to start a channel. It's crazy how similar my taste is to yours. Like, out of everyone I watch.....I get the most from you.
Me too, I'm waiting on my couch for 2 months lol they are fast to deliver to UA-camrs so they can get on the videos obviously. And I'm also broke here. My living room is basically done with creative wall painting and plants, then the sofa when it arrives.
Its a lot cheaper for them to gift LoneFox a £3000 sofa than to pay for traditional adverts, so dont worry - your room will look lovely and not be any more expensive than it should!
stunning as always drew! but i think the living room has so many corner elements to it, almost everything is rectangle and square. maybe a roundish coffee table?
Let's appreciate that he didn't use the full name James Charles and Mr. Kate to push this "I am popular" message, he just low key brought up that he got some stuff from them, I love that.
When you have too many furniture pieces in one area that are the same shape, things can feel off and feel too bulky which is what I believe you were experiencing with the zara coffee table. To create contrast and break up the harshness of the rectangular couch/rug/chair, consider using a round coffee table next time and or layer on an organic shaped rug such as faux animal skin😉
A fantastic makeover. The black accents lift it completely. However it’s all well and good getting freebies but your followers aren’t so lucky. A completely back to basics room makeover is more realistic which helps when you use your magic touches
I hear you, but Drew has it like that! 🤣 That's a perk of being a popular influencer, so don't hate. Without buying expensive furniture (or getting it free!), his designs are also meant to inspire.
I wasn’t being hateful and I fully agree that he’s outstanding , there’s no doubt about that, my point is that I’d rather see his amazing talent used without freebies.
I'd say a lot of these vibes could be found thrifting (or where I am even in free stuff) too! I always see thrifting as the cheaper way to get expensive, but the cost is in time! You gotta be patient for that perfect piece to pop up 🙏
Coffee table did not seem too small for the room. I love how you just take a can of black spray paint to everything and elevate it!
I think you should have a Netflix series-decorating real people homes on a budget and with thrift items-I actually can’t wait to watch it 😁❤️
Think a UA-cam mini series wis good too!
This would be amazing!!
I agree
That would be epic!

Haha!
Liking a video before watching bc you know you’re gonna love it 😂
EVERYTIME 😍
Add a trailing plant on the tall cane cabinet! I feel like that would help distract from the light wood as well
Yes this!! 🪴🌿
yeah not loving that cane cabinet in that space at all.
I like how you show the trial and error part! Makes me feel better when I come to styling my space 😅👍
I absolutely love it!!! 🥺 it feels so cozy and homey, it’s perfect for the season coming too!
Drew looks stunning. Only one thing I would ad to it. A glass sheet on the coffee table. 😍😍😍
Drew, when you hang curtains with rings allow one ring closest to the finial to rest on the outside of the bracket. It will prevent the outside edge of the curtain from being pulled to the center when you pull your curtains closed. The curtain bracket will stop it from moving.
Thanks for the tip.
That’s so funny, I do the same.
Yes 👍
Good advice! Never thought of that, thanks for sharing.
The curtains actually being longer and dragging on the ground kind of make it look more luxurious. :3 like a luxurious industrial look!
Absolutely agree, I always keep my curtains dragging on the floor.
It’s a design thing, I love it
Agree about pooling curtains looking great.
"The living room is done, the living room is done! Let me reveal it to you in 3,2,1! LOL!!!!!!!! Love, love...LOOOOVE!!!!!!
Actual favorite part hahahaha!!!!
okay, I was low-key nervous when he said he wasn't digging the vibe from the console he built (and that brought him so much joy) and I was so happy to see it in its new home in the dining room, where it fits in like it always knew that's where its home was... #sogood. Great job Drew.
I’d love to see drew doing a kids room! Would be interesting to see how his aesthetic translates to a children’s space!
I want to do a kids room so bad!
Yes please! I'm moving hopefully this month. Need ideas for my son's room.
This room is just bananas! So so good, honestly, prob fav room yet!
:) THANK YOU
Hey! I'm 61 years old, swf, just sayn I love your energy, personally and your makeover videos. I enjoy your channel so much!! Keep it up :)
I absolutely love it!!! 🥺 it feels so cozy and homey, it’s perfect for the season coming too!
The living room looks like the pieces were acquired over time. A very sophisticated look!
I believe you can! Woot woot!
This so inspired me to paint my window trim black!
Love it!!
Sameeeee!!
same x3
Love the room truly, but I just can’t feel the coffee table. I think something, maybe Scandinavian?, or a vintage trunk? And maybe something in the lower half of the fireplace. Something painted on or mural? Live with it all and you will figure it out. Beautiful room.
Deborah Streb I agree about the coffee table, I think a round coffee table would be nice since everything else is square or rectangle except the accessories.
I'm feeling glass top table to keep the area more open and airy..
Eppy VonPeppy Agreed! The coffee table looks too bulky.
Same here, the coffee table isn't vibing for me, loved everything else though.
@@eppyvonpeppy5213 that was my first thought. A glass top coffee table would look better
This is absolutely stunning!!!!! the black window trim and Chantilly lace walls.....Perfection!!!!
Okay but imagine brass fixtures on that old black window frame. That would look so chic.
I imagine a chunky cement, but modest in size, oval coffee table. Or maybe slate black top?
I agree, he should add a rounded coffee table.
I am OBSESSED with all the black and warm tones together 😍
Yay. I literally kept refreshing my phone to see if it had been uploaded. Omg it’s here!!!!
❤❤❤
OH.MY.GOD. It looks a-mazing!!!!
Coño Mimi xD jajaja tu por aquí xD
Me encanta!!! ;)
@@MyshelafromTanelorn jajajaja holiii
I don't think so... He makes it looks like a very small room beside that he lost a lot of the view of the windows and the fireplace
I love that he's not afraid to mix styles and make pieces he likes work! Design is subjective!
😘xx
In California since it's so hot, fireplaces are mostly for decorations. TV as a focal point is more important than fireplace
That's a damn shame!
@@CatNevery Yeah & those who receive tons of free clothes while the rest of us save up for a few good pieces a year :/
Cla Lyrics or makeup, skincare and hair products etc.
I'm over the fully article furnished videos. I'm not even finishing this video because of it tbh. Just so unrelatable. article is NOT affordable and to hear they don't even have good CS?? Fuck it. Give me literally any other brand at this point.
The windows frames and trims being painted 100% made the room. What a lovely feature 🥰
ahh i’m blaming you for all of the makeovers i constantly do throughout quarantine.
It all looks so beautiful Drew. The black window trim makes the whole room pop. Loving it!
I love how you roll with the punches with figuring out what works and what doesn’t! I get so discouraged when I buy something and I just feel like it doesn’t work and don’t quite know how to fix it. I enjoy hearing your thoughts on how to solve certain issues!
Thank you so much!
So glad you decided to keep the sideboard- it looks AMAZING!!! 😍😍😍
Yay! Thank you!
I woul'd love a round coffee table in this space, maybe even a white one. Other than that, the living room turned out sooo good!
me too
Yes, personally... I thought an irregular ovalish shaped coffee table with a white marble style table top would be nice there. I feel the space is too boxy.
I thought a black metal legs table with glass or marble top would be perfect.
I thought what he did was fine 😊👍👍
Stunning! I was so relieved when you decided to switch out the coffee table. I’ve been working to de-brown my living room this week too!
Fabulous job bravo 👏!!
Love all the natural elements so earthy and homey 🥰
Love the funiture and black Windows. I'm not in love with te table. Everything is square a more rounded table would have been my choice.
B MelloW I think painting the table such flat black colour was a mistake. It looks so artificial.
yess or an organic shaped table
I agree.. I'd change the coffee table for sure (maybe with something with a glass top) and probably the carpet too. Love the tv that seems a picture.
Mary Young nice!
I feel like your landlord should be paying you to live there
💯
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I recon it is so good that....you should check with him or her the land lord before you go,back to the original.... they may like what you’ve done and want it to stay!
Sandy Graetz totally agree! This is quite the upgrade from what it was before.
I'm in complete awe of the final reveal every single time (and a little jealous since im stuck in a dorm room atm...)
We need that dance to be in every room decor you do. Pls. I’m serious.
The arch in this room gets me every time 🥰❤️❤️❤️
I know you'll get your Netflix show soon Drew! Would love some tips.
i had no idea they got a show on netflix! that's amazing!!!
Imagine just being given thousands and thousands of dollars of beautiful furniture I could never
It's kind of payment for the promotion he is providing them. They don't just give stuff away and expect nothing in return.
Drew, I would literally let you do my house blindfolded, I have that much confidence in your talent
@@lonefox thank you, Drew! Keep being your awesome self. With love from the UK 🇬🇧
I'M SO EXCITED, I LIKED BEFORE WATCHING IT CAUSE I KNOW IT'S GONNA BE LITTTTTT.
That intro thooo, it's soooo cute and beautiful. Fall is the best season for Lone Fox.
Aw thank you so much!!!!
Everything about the room is amazing but I especially love how you painted the window trim black!
This is beautiful. I’m curious to see what it would look like with the back inside wall of the fireplace painted in a flat black.
You’re just KILLING IT!!! Want the whole living of room thanks 🤩
Okay.... painting the window trim was a game changer!! I’m moving into my first apartment in January and I got super lucky bc the landlord is so nice and I’m hoping he’ll let me paint!! Landlords can be so unnecessarily stubborn, like hello, I’m doing YOU a favor!!!
I’ve been excited for this all week!
It is soooo beautiful! I would put a customized glass over the coffee table.... Love the mirror over the fireplace 💕
LOVE LOVE LOVE the black trim on the windows, it makes the space pop!!!!!
Looks great, the couch looks soooo comfy.
Great makeover.
It’s gorgeous, sumptuous, warm and cosy. Best makeover I’ve seen this year. It makes me want to introduce black into my lounge room. 💖💖
Let's appreciate that he didn't use the full name James Charles and Mr. Kate to push this "I am popular" message, he just low key brought up that he got some stuff from them, I love that.
Absolutely love the final product!
I agree with your choice to use the curtain rings. And it's great to have the fabric to "break" a little on the floor!
How do you not have a million subs🤯 like I feel this content is so good I should be paying for it! HGTV who? 🙌🏼
"Reveal the living room in... 3... 2... 1.." ADVERTISEMENT I literally lol'd! looks sooooo good, im super jealous, #GOOOAAALLLS 🤍🤍🤍
You are a genius! Seriously you have a gift for style and design, and always an upbeat and positive outlook. Thank you for brightening my day.
A fantastic makeover. The black accents lift it completely. However it’s all well and good getting freebies but your followers aren’t so lucky. A completely back to basics room makeover is more realistic which helps when you use your magic touches
I agree with you there. He’s throwing out some very expensive brands.
@@Mslat3pI know you weren't being hateful, sweetie! That's just a figure of speech. Sorry if it came off offensive. It's all love! 😊
I'd say a lot of these vibes could be found thrifting (or where I am even in free stuff) too! I always see thrifting as the cheaper way to get expensive, but the cost is in time! You gotta be patient for that perfect piece to pop up 🙏
