Thank you for addressing what people are saying that is not acceptable. How in the world do we out here in UA-cam land even begin to know what you two are going through and how in the world can someone look at you Leslie and say you are not being nice to Jason!!!! If these people would get off their high horses and listen they wouldn't say those things. I say ( If you people don't like how these videos go Don't watch) Love you two.
I never ever thought for one moment you were making fun of Jason. That is so not you from what I’ve gathered from the videos. I always got the impression that you just enjoy him and his personality. I know we do. I am a major empath so I’m very in tune to the hurt you feel with angry words from him even though you know it’s not meant to hurt you. Words just hurt darn it. Always thinking of you both. ❤🙏❤
I just don’t understand the negativity. I just don’t. The attacks people will make, 99% wouldn’t ever say to your face. You are both amazing.

People don't understand what it is like when you sleep with someone who has restless leg syndrome. My husband and I stopped sleeping in the same bed 30+ years ago. He had a severe snoring problem and I have restless leg syndrome and I change sleeping positions frequently. We were keeping each other awake. It was so bad; we finally chose to sleep in separate bedrooms. It has absolutely nothing to do with our relationship or how we feel about each other. Shame on the trolls who have no idea what they are talking about.

I am so sorry people have the audacity to criticize you, Leslie, for how you are taking care of Jason. I am always shocked at what people find offensive. It’s like they wake up & decide they have to go find things to offend them that day. It’s sad that so many people are just that miserable. Both of you are incredibly brave & absolutely some of the strongest people I have seen on UA-cam. This is your life, your story & I personally am so grateful for you both. I think your laughter is infectious, Leslie & you putting a smile on your face during the times I feel the pain cuts you like a knife, is you just being brave & strong. Both of my parents had dementia at the same time. As a caregiver, it seems the harder times overwhelm the good/funny times. So it is a joy to see how you are managing and can find the funny. Those are the memories to hold tight. Your faith will see you through much.
Thanks for all you do. My brother is in hospice for lewy body and I was diagnosed Thursday of dementia.
My mom had Alzheimer’s and unfortunately she knew how she was declining. Maybe many others don’t but my mom did and she was suffering greatly as she was so aware of what was happening to her. She would cry and say to me that she was slipping away. It was hard. I’m so happy for you Jason that this is not your experience. May you continue with your sense of humor and positivity. Take care😊❤
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I’m a caregiver for my husband with Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia. It’s a journey no one can fully comprehend unless they have walked it closely with a loved one. I think you two are amazing. I hope you can ignore the people who love to be offended and spread their negativity. ❤
As to the laughter, my husband and I chose to deal with my increasing disabilities with laughter. In addition to rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune illnesses, in my 60's, I developed atypical trigeminal neuralgia. It's one of the most painful disorders known. I couldn't eat, talk, feel a breeze across my cheek or brush my teeth without triggering pain that would last for hours or days. I was dealing with hyperthyroidism at the same time, and quickly lost weight, being described in medical offices as frail, a big source of trauma to me. I was on anti-epileptics which made me loopy. In school, I had been the nerdy girl studying physics and to suddenly not be able to finish sentences was humiliating. I'd been active and athletic, kayaking, jogging with my dogs, lifting weights, riding my Women's Trek on technical dirt trails. Now I needed a cane. I ultimately decided on a brain surgery and then a second one to deal with the TN on the opposite side. Both worked, but then RA and spinal damage took over. When I was at my pre-brain-surgeries worst, though, my husband would look up to find me twirling around a column in our house that I had grabbed for balance and rush to me, laughing all the time he was. After I'd accidentally thrown a can down that he'd had to dodge or dropped a canister of sugar, he'd use a mock rough voice, and say, "Get out of the kitchen, Linda, you're not helping." We laughed a lot, but it got him into trouble once in a Central Market. We were walking along and he looked back, noticing the look on my face. I was having trouble maneuvering through the crowd. Forgetting where he was, he said, "Grab on to my belt, Linda, and follow me!" Several women turned to glare at him. We really had a good laugh when we got to the car that time. People just don't understand that such humor can ease the feelings of the person who is seemingly being mocked. It can be saying, "Yes, you're humiliated and you want to cry, but we're together and we can choose to laugh about this." Now, I'm hoping as we deal with certain problems he's having that we can employ the same sense of humor, but he's not ready right now. He doesn't recognize what's happening. We've been married almost 54 years, and you stay attuned to what's working and what isn't.

Your humour comes from such a long wonderful marriage, my husband and I are like that after 38 yrs❤ Don't feel the need to respond or dwell on all the nasties, what small, insular lives they must lead. Try to silence or ban them. Life is hard enough without people who dine on lemons all day long😮. I just today discovered your channel. It is obvious that anyone making negative comments have never had to care for a person with any form a dementia. You are only human and have to deal with things however you can. I cared for my mom who had dementia and many days it was a nightmare. Thank you for sharing your story.

Thank you for sharing your experiences with Dementia! I have been a caregiver for the past 3 years to elderly people with Dementia. Your videos will help a lot more patients & their families deal with it with courage & wisdom. It is a very challenging journey but laughter, love, hope & faith will be of great help. It is always such a great day when I see your posts, so thank you. My Mom passed of Dementia on Dec. 18, 2022. She had been sick approximately 6-7 years and definitely as time went on things got harder. This is a very terrible disease and in particular for the younger patients. Bless you.

I know it must be hard to ignore those idiots that say such horrible negative stuff... but honestly don't give them "air" space. They are just not worth any time in your day, What you are both doing is amazing and educational to so many I looked after my mum for 10 years and I certainly understand your role Lesley as a Carer. You are doing an amazing job and your love and pain for Jason's journey is so very obvious., The love you have for each other is so wonderful and will make Jason's journey a little easier for him knowing the love of his life is 'there' for him .... for you Leslie it is a little different.... watching and seeing what "happens' throughout the day and over time is devastating for you, Please let the genuine caring vibes from all the people that respect you wrap you in a blanket of strength,. I'm really grateful you are doing these videos. My mum is currently being diagnosed in the UK there are long waiting lists for appointments im hopeing for diagnosis for a chance there maybe some drugs to help all this waiting is heartbreaking as she is getting worse. I love seeing you both laugh as you can still have special moments together despite his diagnosis. Jason speaks so well and I take comfort from your videos ignore the haters your doing great xx
It would be okay if we saw that something took 3 times. You know, I have depression and Asperger's Syndrome. You guys show me different strategies for how to cope that I can adjust to my situation. I get lost in projects, I'm easily frustrated, and I have to do-over. You guys help give me courage to accept my limitations, and start over when necessary.

MY HUSBAND SLEEPS ALOT AND IT IS TRUE WE AS THE CAREGIVERS SEE THINGS THAT NOBODY ELSE DOES,IT IS SO HARD TO SEE HIM FROM THIS ENERGETIC MAN TO THE MAN WHO IS SO CONFUSED AND I AM ALONE IN THIS WITH HIM EVERYDAY.HE WEARS A PATCH BUT WAS TOLD BY HIS NEUROLOGIST NOTHING MORE CAN BE DONE.
Cheryl I am in the same boat. Hard to watch as time goes on. Husband cannot drive or dress himself. I am alone as well. He was diagnosed 4 years ago. Prayers for you and him as well

Thanks so much for being open and honest. I think you two are adorable and perfect together and anyone can clearly and so easily see how great of a relationship the two of you have together. Jason your taking this like a boss! We have no choices in what we get dealt many times but how we handle it varies from each of us. Leslie off topic here but I love your fireplace decorations!! Looking at them I thought wow taht is excatly what I need because it can be up all year. I am a Christmas fanatic!
My step mother in law was 92 and had Dementia 2 yrs ago. Widowed, was active in golf, lunch at same place daily, active in business from her & late hubby, loved to garden, & shop. One day she told me she was " seeing angels dancing around her Christmas tree & her husband sat in loveseat looking at grandfather clock nightly. One night she saw him in bed fixing a light. It became obvious per her Dr. gave her news. Her nephew & wife lived near & did everything. She could not drive. Loosing that for her was hard. They took over bills. Called in 24 hr help as she fell broke hip, had surgery & much more. I am NOT TELLING you this to depress you. 24/7 home care costed a fortune. ( She had beautiful home paid for, investments, & extra medical Ins). Was not enough! They sold her car. She finally had to go to nursing home. Her $$ was gone. Her lawyer was in charge & sold home. Life Ins. covered her to be flown to where she was from. I pray for you both. Plan for a GO FUND ME ACCOUNT!!!! Spend EVERY MINUTE together you can. I was married to my High School sweetheart for 40 yrs. He had Hashimoto's Thyroidtitus & had inner mental problems, he took his life. We had our own business. One daughter with Epilepsy. Been 19 years that he is gone. She is 41, I have been with her through 5 brain surgeries & a stroke. Still no answers. We hold onto our FAITH & love for each other. Keep your Faith! You bringing things up to Jason that he is doing is not a bad thing at all, especially if he doesn't realize he's doing it and he asked that you do. We all bring up little things to our spouses that many times they don't realize they are doing. Should you not tell him something like his fly is down after he comes from the bathroom because it would embarrass him? Of course not. You tell him from love and not to embarrass him and that is the difference. You don't yell out things in public, but letting him know, whether discretely, or in private, is part of being a partner with someone. Most of us realize that you will do most of the talking as Jason is tired or can't get the words out like he wants. From what I have seen from the beginning is Jason has no problem letting you know when he has something to say. You two are a wonderful example of partners helping partners and don't let the naysayers tell you any different. Keep up the great work both of you and happy 4th of July!!

Just want to drop a little comment. Don't change a thing. You are so focused on Jason that I don't even think I know your name! I often heard Jason's name in that video, but not yours. I have to click away to find out if it's Lindsay. You look like a Lindsay to me. I think your love for him and your love for life is why people watch. In fact, your laughter is why people love you. You are so bubbly and effervescent with joy and happiness. It's rare to see a couple so in love and to meet two such charming people. I absolutely love your light-hearted laughter and Jason's sense of humor, and you can see he just absolutely adores you even when there is the pain of dementia in his eyes and face sometimes. Everyone should be so lucky to have a marriage like yours, and everyone should be so lucky to have a caregiver who is a nurse and a wife who is so in love with them as a caregiver. You two have everything. As for those who thought you were being unkind - they are projecting their own feelings onto you and Jason. It's not you. All most of us see is love. I am so glad you told your story. I am sending you healing prayers. (I am 48 and getting an MRI for my memory issues in a few weeks and seeing a neurologist. Watching this is educational as well as enjoyable.)

No one can understand how difficult health challenges can be in these type of situations. Humor is a requirement for us. Thank you for allowing us to travel this journey with you as we are sometimes on the same path and may not know it yet.

Love to you both!!! I just saw my Aunt who’s late stage 7 bed bound but I was so lucky last Saturday I got her in a Lucid time which has been a longggg time since I got that so I was so happy. But heartbreaking as she tears up to tell me to pray and she’s terrified of dying. Lost use of legs last April then last week myoclonic jerks. But I was so happy she the woman I modeled my life after was present just for a short time. I found a VHS tape from when she was a senior in high school graduating going to 2 proms and my Grandmother who at that time was a Mother. When I let her know about it and she wants to see it. Even remembered her boyfriend’s name from back then. My son put the dvd together cutting all out except her And her Mom my mom her older sister and in 1966 no sounds just the projection sounds that sound like a jack hammer so he put music tracks down that she loves so I’ll keep it on me in hopes of another lucid moment otherwise she won’t understand it. Keep up the great uploads share with us. They’re going to be so treasured by you down the road ♥️

Not like Leslie not to take decorations down. So I'm just as confused. But we love them so we'll watch it right?

MY HUSBAND ALSO HAS DIMENTIA WE HAVE BEEN MARRIED FOR 20 YEARS AND HE IS 14 YEARS OLDER THAN ME.
My partner passed last week. He had Young Alzheimer's or LBD. We believe It was LBD. It was a long battle for 23 years, he was 55. He was in the last stage when he passed.
