My dad had Parkinson's and my mother had Lewy Body Dementia. It's not an easy thing for any of you. It affects the whole family.
@@ACharmingAbode My Dad had Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinsons Disease and the 2 together were extremely tiring on my Mother. I stepped up to help her but it physically and mentally just about wore us down as my Dad went through sundown syndrome very bad. God bless you on this journey! 🙏🙏🙏

Don’t know how this came to my feed. I am a nurse, I have a 66 year old brother a few months ago I determined that this is what he has, Lewis body Dementia. I subscribed immediately..you are an amazing person, you all are so so sweet. Thanks to your husband for being a Soldier…he is an amazing man. I love your home. My son who has ADHD stuck spaghetti sauce in the fridge the other day, just not focusing...
When I was around 16 my parents had some friends over. I was refilling their coffee and put the pot back in the fridge LOL. it happens to the best of us.

Tender video. I loved when he was holding the dog so tenderly and so lovingly. It is good he cooks. Keeps his mind active and clearly he makes good food. He is always smiling and he has a funny sense of humor. I feel you both are doing well handling this as best you can. It's good to see. I love your candles.

Oh, sweet Leslie! I am so sorry that there are those that would not see all the benefits to this video! The info you share and the education that it offers is so important; you need not apologize. My favorite parts are the memories you are recording of Jason's sweet spirit (cuddling the pooch, returning your hugs and laughter) - you need never to regret sharing with those of us who love you both. The rest can talk to the wind ... they don't realize how blessed they are to not be living with health issues.

Jason, you were far more active than I’d anticipated you’d be with chores that are part of everyone’s day, all very relatable, though I cannot claim to produce meals as consistently well received as yours!
At the end of the day, Jason, when you were stretched out in your recliner, you seemed to be in that zone you mentioned in an earlier video where you don’t want to talk. Thank you for sharing that moment. Again, you are so generous with your time. It is more appreciated than you can know.

It took a lot of courage to share this day. Jason did well, but it's obvious that he is struggling. I love the laughter and working together and doggie companionship. You are a precious caregiver, Leslie. Thank you for sharing the commitment it takes to care for a loved one. My mom has MS and is starting to struggle with dementia. I see the same loving care in my dad that you give to Jason. Heroes!!

A Charming Abode , I was curious if the videos will continue through the entirety of his illness ? I think this can be a very informational series . Its scary I can imagine but the help that this provides is priceless . A virtual in of the good , bad and the ugly of this devastating disease. As you have experienced the new things that slowly appear or sadly disappear with Jason can be very scary and heart breaking and for others to see that all these things are a possibility down the road with their loved one , can maybe help them prepare a bit and not being as blindsided on top of all the other natural emotions . Its a heavy load for the both of you and I think what you and Jason are doing is a gift . Stick with it and never let the hateful ppl be a hindrance to putting new video's up , in fear of what others might say/think should never stop you from spreading awareness to this bit** of a disease . People that may have something shitty to say well just understand you never know when this tragic situation may happen to you or someone you love . Thank you A Charming Abode and of course Jason for being brave , open and vulnerable.
Went thru this with my Mom for 16 years, so sorry this happened to him. It’s very tough on the caregiver. Sending love and prayers 💕
Don't ever feel nervous about sharing something so sacred to you. This hugged at my heartstrings, and brought some tears to my eyes. It also brought out chuckles, and a true feeling of admiration and respect. Jason is a warrior with a huge heart and amazing sense of humor. You, Leslie are an angel. Your love and caring of Jason is what we should all exhibit to those we are closest to. You are both blessed with the love of each other. Thank you for sharing this. I'm sorry people feel the need to be so mean. Any dementia journey is immensely difficult but I would expect one earlier in life is all the more difficult. At 40 I was caring for my mother in law who has dementia and that was difficult enough, but I can't imagine how difficult I'd find it to deal with this if it was my husband struggling instead. You guys are in my thoughts x

I just love seeing how much you both love each other and how much you support him. My mom had Alzheimers (RIP Mommy), you have to be a tough cookie. Hang in there.

Thank you so much for sharing. I have been searching what may be going on with my husband and this has been a great help. One strange behavior has been occasional dry heaves for no reason so when I saw your husband's "gagging" episode, it sent an actual chill down my spine. I'm not sure what the future holds for us, but I pray we meet it with the same positive attitudes, love and humor that you have.

One year before retirement, he was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia, no doubt from his exposure to fuel as he was a pilot. Thankfully, he is in remission after a bone marrow transplant. So many of us have been touched by this disease and I was fortunate to have a wonderful *mentor* take me under their wing and share their journey with me as I dealt with my own. It made a world of difference and I didn’t feel so alone. Thank you for being so open and honest. You will never know how many you are helping in their own journeys. I don't know much about the disease except that it's what Robin Williams suffered, and I adored him most of my life. What I read about it confused me a lot, and it was heartbreaking. Though I didn't know him personally, I love his comedy. You guys opening up about Jason having this and how you live with it is a massive education. You are so brave for sharing this, and I appreciate the glimpse into how you live with this. I do not have this-I have other health problems- but the grace with which you went through the day somehow gave me a feeling of hope. Thank you for that.

I’m a retired med nurse/caregiver for our veterans in an Alzheimer’s/Dementia unit. I retired early due to MS diagnosis but I loved my job tremendously. The loving, caring, relationship you share is wonderful. Those laughs, hugs, smiles, struggles, etc., etc., are real and your love for each other is precious.
