Mix the obsessions of Cyrus with the parenting of Ghetsis and you got yourself a Lusamine
Facts
What parenting?
@@Swagsire_ In Pokemon Black and White, it is heavily implied Ghetsis was abusive towards N.
@@TimBurtonPrincess I… know
It was just a joke to say how bad it was
@@Swagsire_ Sorry, my bad....got confused!
Apparently, the manga was even darker. In the manga, Faba was actually behind everything, as he was the one who pushed Mohn into the wormhole because he was lusting after Lusamine and wanted her for himself. When she continued to reject his advances, he further pushed her into insanity and tried to destroy her family purely out of spite.
ok thats it. I will never like faba again he is already an arse in the anime and reading this, I will never want to like faba again
Now that's just straight FUCKED UP 0-0
@@senakuma9985 fortunately, he’s hunted down by the main character’s Meowth out of revenge and then dragged off into ultra space in the end by a swarm of Nihilego, which inject neurotoxins into him.
@@hamishstewart5324 thats sounds like a fkn hell. A SWARM OF THOSE THINGS?! JESUS FKN CHRIST THE HORROR
Jeez that's dark. Like I get him lusting over lusamine(who doesn't?) but "killing" her husband and driving her insane?
Pokemon manga do be hitting different
Fun Fact: Lusimines husband isn’t actually dead, he’s actually the island guy form the poke pelego islands, there are cut sense in ultra sun/moon that confirm this.
Also the book. There’s a book (in both games iirc) in one of the secret basement lab rooms that basically confirms it. Being that it mentions a researcher by the same name who used to study ultra wormholes and was lost into one.
You see, his wife didn't like him flicking her bean, so he went to an island for the sole purpose of flicking beans.
@@MDLuffy1234YT 😭💀💀
oh
That's actually, really sad
As creepy as Lusamine herself is, I think the Ultra Beast that has been at the center of the story for most of the game is even creepier; Nihilego. After reading Pokedex entries on this thing and getting an understanding of what it's about, Nihilego... legitimately terrifies me. It's known to latch onto humans and Pokemon, then inject them with a special neurotoxin that deactivates inhibitions and puts them in a state of heightened excitement in order to bring out latent potential in the host, which normally takes the form of them becoming more violent. While searching for her husband, Lusamine found Nihilego in Ultra Space, and it did its thing to Lusamine which is what caused her to go insane. Her obsession shifted from finding her husband to Nihilego itself, and explains part of her controlling behavior to her children. When Lillie and Nihilego were first revealed, a lot of us were convinced that Lillie was Nihilego in disguise, but the truth ended up being more tragic; Lusamine forces Lillie to dress up in a way that resembles Nihilego because that's what's important to her now. Her caring for injured or endangered Pokemon also shifted to eternal preservation via freezing, and overall a woman in a position of authority became a deranged lunatic obsessed with otherworldly forces, which really does make for a really dangerous antagonist.
All this because of a jellyfish made of glass. And it's not even supposed to be the most dangerous of the Ultra Beasts.
Ima guess naganadel, being the only ultra beast species which evolves (apparently buzzwole and pheremosa do a similar thing but they’re the same Pokemon rather than evolutions of each other), is the most powerful one?
@@that_dwayneee I don't actually consider Naganadel all that dangerous compared to the other beasts. In fact, canonically that family is a popular species of Pokemon in whatever world it hales from. If I had to judge them based on what the lore says about them, Guzzlord is easily the most dangerous. It eats absolutely everything in sight and has an insatiable apetite. Look at what it did in its home world; that thing will bring about the apocalypse if nobody catches it here.
!!
I don’t know but whenever people start drinking juice with that 18+ sticker plastered on it they start acting like Nihilego has latched onto them but don’t worry it wears of quickly
Isn't the colors of nihilego and lusamine same as necrozma
Definitely one of my favorite stories in the series. The one time where the main goal isn’t to stop a regional takeover or global destruction but rather trying to help heal or bring closure to a broken family. Such a shame Ultra had to butcher it just to shove Necrozma in there.
Let's just forget ultra....
@@ericwalker2434 meh, ultra games are one of the best
@@GigaChadThe69th the slight difficulty increase and the space/water surfing were the only good parts imo
It is cool, but the protag feels shoehorned in
@@ericwalker2434 ultra gameplay (excluding ultra necrozma) with the story of sun and moon is my dream game.
Behind a kirby rpg of course
Sun and Moon was the peak for villains/antagonists. They bait n switch they did with team skull being a "decoy" evil team, and having Lusamine and the Aether Foundation being the true evil really worked. its kinda shocking how 3D and vivid they make the lusamine/lilly/gladion dynamic.
I feel like the game lusamine and the anime lusamine are entierly different people.
In th games, she's incredibly psychotic. however, she is seen as very sweet and loving in the anime, regretting not being able to spend much time with here children. the difference between these characters make me think that there is no way they had the same story
I think the anime chose to deviate from Lusamine's game counterpart because the Sun and Moon anime was skewed more towards younger viewers. The writers probably thought giving one of its main characters an abusive parent who has frozen Pokemon bodies on display would be too upsetting for its demographic, so they altered her character to be a flawed but still loving parent at the cost of Lusamine losing her villainous edge.
Even in terms of games, vanilla Sun & Moon Lusamine and Ultra Lusamine are two very different characters.
@@cassie6146 I wouldn’t really say it was skewed towards younger viewers but I think they just didn’t wanna go through with that storyline in the anime
@@primarinegaming6761 Especially with how overwhelmingly lighthearted the SM Anime was.
Even despite the sad stuff like Stoutland's death & Mallow seeing her dead mother again, I think those were sad, but not fucked up like game Lusamine would've been like.
@@cassie6146 The anime vaporized Lysandre on screen while he was screaming in fear. I think the viewers that can handle that could handle game Lusamine.
To all the people wondering why Lusamine didn't fight you in her Ultra Beast form... Lusamine was obsessed with Nihilego.
*Do you really think she would want to risk hurting Nihilego at that point?*
Yes, and No
No because she wouldn't want Nihilego to get hurt
But Yes because she would probably do it to prove a point; that Nihilego is superior and that she'll show you why
The pokedex says that this Pokémon controls people so she was controlled by niggahalolego but I guess she wanted to battle you in a Pokémon battle
@@xxmansoorxx2000 Bruh
It's like Chobin in Pokemon XD with Robo Groudon...
@@xxmansoorxx2000 thing is, that Nihilego is owned by her and she is in a symbiotic fusion with it. Nihilego feeds on negative emotions while giving positive emotions while slowly killing the victim with venom, so she took out the venom killing part and just use Nihilego for the fake emotion swapping. But she's in control of it since she technically is Nihilego 's trainer.
I also like the fact the Nihilego resembles Lillie as if she saw Nihilego as her daughter instead of Lillie.
This literally happened in the anime are you from the future.
@@team_rocket2313 Nope but this isn't the first time I predicted the future.
Wow
@ArmanAditya Basu I am proud of that.
That's because Lusamine forced Lillie to dress as a Nihilego. And Lusamine herself dresses as a Pheromosa.
It always sucked that you didn't get to battle lusamine directly after she fused.
Seriously, such a let down it was just an ordinary Pokémon battle. Fused Lusamine should have used the same mechanics as a totem battle, with herself as the "totem", and calling out her team as the 2v1 adds.
With the sorta of like ACTUAL battle with pokemon in Legends Arceus with like balms and stuff I really hope one day we can battle her like that, she'd honestly could be a hard yet terrifying boss
Eternamax Eternatus seems to have been an attempt to make uyp for this.
@@EmeralBookwise fused lusamine = fusamine

@@skyiloh7460 Bill back from gen 1.
I wonder if the characters from the ReBURST manga would qualify since they're a different continuity and all.
@@BJGvideos Probably, but I exclude them because they’re not from the main series, makes them kinda a cheating choice to me.
@@BergmitetheBlueandPointy0712 would ashs greninja count for this considering the whole ash greninja thing?
I always thought that by the end of Sun and Moon that she was put into a coma from neurotoxins that were injected into her body from fusing with Nihlego and that she might never wake up again. Ultra Sun and Moon redeemed her by not only keeping her alive but also allowing her to forgive her children and recognize that they grew up throughout their journey with you.
In base SM, Lillie talks about how Lusamine was coming to understand that what she did was wrong, so she's since woken up.
so you're basically saying she's dead
@@levelmakertoiletpaperediti1778 They seem to be saying that even though that's very explicitly NOT what happens.
@@BJGvideos yes,but technically it is death
Lillie goes on a quest in S/M to find a cure for Lusamine. So there's hope.
You forgot to say that her obsessions came from her intoxication from nihilego’s toxins! She must have encountered a nihilego when trying to find her husband in an experiment- getting away from the encounter- but still effected by it’s toxin. By the end of the climax the toxin seemingly wore off so… that’s that. I LOVE LUSAMINE so I’m happy to see a video abt her ((: !
You know, while she did get away with nearly destroying Alola... only her daughter and a 10 year old know... and there is little proof...
And while she froze those Pokemon... Pokemon are much more receptive to feelings than humans, so they'd probably forgive her once unfrozen....
damn, lusamine casted snowgrave on these poor pokemon-
Aha
I-
Lusamine used a move she didn't know 💀
@@zukamimotu..2071 LSIGKRNFNR
I've seen her called "the human Froslass."
"When it finds humans or Pokémon it likes, it freezes them and takes them to its chilly den, where they become decorations."
I've said in the past that Lusamine's story is cosmic horror and honestly, I stand by that. Even if USUM did kneecap the story by having her just get spit back out a while later no harm done, she still experienced classic Lovecraftian madness and did horrible things to see "her lovely Beast" again.
But I also don't think her kids should have been so quick to forgive and forget so... what do I know
1. Nihilego infused with Lusamine would have been a epic battle
2. It's interesting that she was evil in Ultra Sun and Moon as well but we never got to see her ultra beast form in that game due to Necrozma. Guess Necrozma was a big factor to make her afraid.
Lusamine talked about how we put Pokémon in boxes when no other villain attempts to cover that side of the Pokémon World. Not even Team Plasma. Now that's pretty disturbing.
Me seeing her chair has dot in the anime: REGI CHAIR
Introducing the 7th Legendary Titan: Regisit!
I think that all of what you said is what makes Ultra Sun more scary. Spoilers:
In Ultra Sun, for the most part the story is the same and Lusamine is just as threatening, however in the final scene where you’re about to head into Ultra Space to chase her, a portal opens up and she and Guzma falls out. Lusamine then shouts at her kid to run as Necrozma appears behind them, giving us a clear idea that what we are facing is beyond even Lusamine’s capabilities. It’s wild man.
Idk taking one of the darkest villains we've had, weakening her motives and taking away her charisma, and then having her get beaten up off screen just to gas up a generic monster kinda sounds like bad writing to me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
As much as I love Alola, I honestly think Sun and Moon did a better job with Lusamine's story than USUM. but that was a really cooll and tense scene
@@cleverdragon2744 yeah I have to agree, you can’t just introduce the idea of fucking fusion and then take it away immediately
I really think that if you want to play usum, you should play sun and moon first, or just play sum.
In this one, I seen a much more different Lusamine...one who still cared for her children a little more
But not like in the anime, of course
Lusamine in Anime: Helps protagonist, and cool
Lusamine in Games: Super Obsessed in ultra beast and becomes a villain
This generation was THIS close to perfection, it was this close to embrace the lovecraftian side of pokemon, but of course game freak was too greedy to give us a complete experience (no, you dont need bloodshed if you can make a good story)
Man it’s sad that instead of fighting her in US/UM you just fight ultra necrozma.
Better song theme, but dude ultra lusamine was so cool.
Makes you wonder what would happen if the jellyfish hat was worn by the other ultra beasts.
Buff mosquito would be a intense fusion
We definitely need a video about Koko using Jungle Healing on Dada Zarude
Sun and Moon's story is by far my favorite in the Pokemon series. Lusamine is also the best villain in the series for sure
Fun fact for pokemon fan
She is the first pokemon female main antagonist

Lusamine is Pokemon's waifu version of the Aliens guy from Ancient Aliens
Waifu? That hag? Ha! Simp!
Unpopular opinion: Sun and Moon is my second favourite generation
You know what? Yes. It has good story, the totem battles were interesting and new, I really liked a lot of Alolan Pokemon. Both regional forms and z moves were good ideas.
Sun and moon did a lot right.
Same, behind only gen 4
@Ik Not sure how it was lazy. I'm more talking about the bizarre rewriting they did to weaken Lusamine as a character and as a villain.
Gen 5/7 are my favorites, and gen 4/3 is near
sun and moon has so many good written characters. and the psycho lusamine actually gave me chills
Anime Lusamine be hittin' different - everything really, it's too good
The OST in the basement from the Aether Foundation was so well made, it perfectly reflected the horror of the experiments which have taken place in their laboratories. Could be straight out of a horror game or film.
Aether foundation has one of the coolest themes in ever, kind of like an alien theme in a way
Very good video. I love when people go in depth with the villains. They're usually the best part of the story.
It's at least nice to see that the anime wrapped up this story arc, as Mohn was finally found in Journeys.
Lusamine's story and the arcs of everyone in the family are why Sun and Moon have my favorite story in the series. Lillie's theme still makes me cry, as does her scene with Lusamine at the very end.
I wouldn't worry about the frozen Pokémon. I believe they represent our Pokémon frozen in time when we haven't played the game in a while.
I heard a theory that Volo from legends Arceus is her ancestor

I remember first seeing this I was playing with my cousin and he was struggling. I was terrified of the character and the battle.
I hope that if there’s going to be a switch remake that we get to fight lusamine/nihilego, sun and moon, for me at least, has the best story of the ones I’ve played (which is most of them), I love the region, the Pokémon, and the mechanics, I really hope we get a new and improved version
Lusamine is the creepiest and craziest Pokémon villain to exist. I mean Ghetsis tries to kill you, but Lusamine freezes Pokémon for her own personal collection and she gets corrupted by a parasitic life form that creates strong neurotoxin.
Lusamine goes down a chaotic spiral of doing anything to get what she wants. Creepiest, but definitely not as evil as Ghetsis, even if he is more mentally sound.
@@yharim180 makes me wonder if Ghetsis beats ganondorf (OoT) because, despite planning world takeover, ganondorf did seem to actually have a moral code. He didn’t kill Young Link at first when he easily could have, and just played fair until his castle got blown to pieces. Then there’s the child murdering lettuce haired visually impaired psychopath that attempts to murder a child just so they don’t stop kyurem from blasting the world with ice.
Well I don't know how Lusamine acts in the Manga, but Manga Ghetsis beat the shit out of N. Hang the gym leaders in a cross in front of the Pokémon league and more. He didn't try to hesitate to murder the shit out of you either which I think is pretty dark. Also his plan of murder was to 'freeze' you but it was frozen shards and I'm definitely sure it's not gonna freeze you lol
Part of the reason I like Lusamine so much is that she looks like she leapt right out of Mega Man Star Force.
Crazy how far childrens games can go to only get a E-10

Oh right.

This form of Nehilego is the coolest thing ever.
Well... maybe not ever but it's awesome.
I really do think usum is one of the best 3D pokemon games. Not the best pokemon game but I feel like they really tried with this game. It's tragic that the beginning really threw people off cause of how hand holdy it all was but it's truly a good game. There was a ton of cool in that game
USUM is the one that gimps her story and tone downs her abuse
What are you even talking about? USUM is vastly inferior to SM. Lusamine is less sinister, Necrozma comes out of nowhere, and Lillie and Gladion are basically sidelined for the Necrozma fight to even happen. Nihilego was so much more compelling and fresh, as it infected Lusamine and made her obsess over it for years. Necrozma just waited for a wormhole to open and then got lucky by absorbing the newly-evolved box legendary.
USUM was mid. SM was legendary. USUM took all of the heart and depth out of the story.
fun fact: in Pokemon Sun there is no music in Ultra Space even though there is in moon

In the anime lusamine isnt the villain.
Now im confused
Personally Pokemon didn't get bad until SWSH, people still rag on these games for some reason but I think they're amazing. With possiblely one of the best stories we've ever gotten (yes I think its better than BW but to each their own), fluid gameplay, and the last appearance of something resembling a difficulty setting (my biggest gripe with the newer games), everything just comes together for a bloody perfect game!
Both Alola games are very good except for dialogues.
All Pokémon games good sword and shield let's go bad only
i have to say the DP remakes are proving to be amazing so far(and yes the glitches in fact ADD to their awesomeness), just proof that Gamefreak should outsource/collab more
@@Akario3 the glitches really add to the game i agree especially if you have some nostalgia for the DS games like me
SwSh are far superior to Ultra, which was a hollow imitation of base SM
Ok going back and seeing this makes me think about that one Pokemon Manga that involved people fusing with the pokemon basically being them in battles which I guess makes it a nice reference to it even if its not crystals giving this form its still super cool to see it happen
New Pokémon game “the tragedy of lusamine”
It's not like death is a rare concept in Pokemon. We've got museums full of bones, dead bone mommy ghost (killed by team Rocket, probably straight up SHOT), human spirits trapped in masks, magikarp sushi,
a god of death who kills everything around it, a superweapon built out of revenge for the killing of a man's Pokemon, which used said god of death by sucking the life energy out of nearly the entire country to fire its extinction blast and end a brutal world war... fuck, X and Y were BRUTAL
I personally get a Darth Vader/Venom vibe with Lusamine's character. In fact, I think she has a similar arc like those other characters mentioned. Lillie I think is like if Leia went to face Darth Vader in Return of the Jedi while Luke is either dead or elsewhere. Gladion I think could be Luke. Or maybe the roles can be switched. Lillie is Luke and Gladion is Leia. It's essentially the "I am your father" moment but switched to a mother and daughter dynamic. I think Giovanni in Ultra sun and moon can be like emperor palpitatine even if Lusamine's character is different in that story.
I still find Ghetsis to be creepier because to my recollection he is the first Pokemon villain (and I think still the only) that actually tries to kill you. He straight up tries to impale you with ice in Black 2 and White 2.
Lusamine tries to kill Lillie in her Mother Beast form when you beat her
if you look closely every panel on the wall is a frozen pokemon
Did Lusamine ever reunite with her husband? Did her husband ever regain his memories?
yes on pokemon journeys
still mad that wasnt a actual boss battle
I both cannot believe and sort of expected that the most replayed section of the video is *that*
The thing I find so interesting is that Lusamine’s broken mental state could have been also influenced by Niheligo’s toxin
I'm so mad we don't get to save the frozen pokemon, but at least we got to save the third silvally in a sense when they distributed it over mystery gift
It doesn't haunt my dreams since she just tossed a pokeball.

I think there's a character that actually says they would wait until the frozen pokemon would wake up or that they would look after them until they recover so they're probably okay
In the words of a wise friend during our joint playthrough of the game when it came out.
"The doujins write themselves"
I really need to turn off autoplay
honestly for me the dark lusamine was really cool and the nihilego parts were cute
naturally due to the fact that jellyfish are my favorite animals
Lusmine's pants being white at the front and black at the back was peak character design
While I got into Pokemon during Gen 6 I never actually played my first game until Gen 7 with Sun & Moon. I played Sun and my brother played Moon, it was both of our first Pokemon games ever and WOW did that scene blow me away. My 13 year old (probably) brain was blown. Lusamine was a great and, for me, unexpected villain and Nihilego was the creepiest thing to crawl out of that game.
I actually disliked the Ultra Beasts at first on design alone, eventually they grew on me though and now they're some of my favorite Pokemon just due to their lore and how freakish they look and act.
Lusamines worst crime was trying to bring back Gen 1 permanent freeze
you should make a video about pokemon mystery dungeons unseen force that kicks you out of the dungeon
I think that the darker squares in lusamine’s laboratory are cells for other frozen Pokémon
Pokémon sun and moon was the first Pokémon I got to play(officially by myself) and I absolutely loved it, I thought the story and characters were awesome and the fight against lusimine was absolutely insane, still after playing other Pokémon games it remains my favorite
No in Pikachu valley you see the pokemon in the story just hanging out
Base game not ultra
That’s the ultra games which are an alternate universe
She always reminds me of Chobin and Robo Groudon from Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, you don't actually battle them, they're just the Trainer and the Enhancement boosts the Pokémon they comically throw out.
While in the anime universe, Lusamine acts like childish mother.
They didn't did justice to her character in anime 😭
But infact it's even better
and then there's just the anime where she's just embarrassing, funny, gets fused with nihelego once, and then falls asleep
Pretty sure there was a line for an Ather foundation member in post game that does mention the frozen Pokemon in the post game.
I really wish the ultra games didn't backtrack Lusamine's character from super evil to just misunderstood mom...i love her character but the villain nerfing is kinda as annoying as not being able to fight her fused form!
then again considering the alternative that scarlet and violet shown in what'd happen if you let the villain go full insane without being stopped....

if we ever get gen7 remakes in the future we should fight her instead of her pokemon
Remember , no bro never, too traumatized
I honestly can't wait for gen 7 remakes, hopefully by then Gamefreak will make better games. Gen 7 was probably my favorite, but it definitely needs streamlining, even the ultra versions.

Still reeling from the cocktease of a monstrous human pokemon fusion of a final boss that we never actually get to battle. Players have been messing with that idea in rumors and rom hacks since probably Gen I. Closest we ever got were the studio enemies in BW2
