  • I always say buy the dealer and take their tractor but with Bobcat I am going to make an exception. Here is what I find troubling about Bobcat Compact Tractors.
    I hope Bobcat Compact Tractors is successful. Competition is good for you and me as consumers

    Daedong is the largest heavy equipment company in the world. Revered for ultra high quality equipment worldwide. So, yes, the Bobcat Tractor is a good bet. Kioti/Bobcat, built by Daedong, are proven to be the most reliable tractors made. Reliability that surpasses both John Deere and Kubota.

    Bobcat is building a giant factory in North Carolina for their tractor line up. It’ll be all in country. 2025/26 I think they’ll be rolling them out.

    Great to listen to your video. Bobcat has started producing the CT20XX in North Carolina this month, it will be exactly like the one from Korea. Bobcat purchased the designs from Kioti at the start of this reentry into the tractor business. The US produced tractor will start shipping soon.

    In house I think is a great thing. They realized they have a great chance to capitalize on the compact tractor market and make those tractors with the bobcat quality we all expect. Their mowers are such high quality and can’t wait to see what they eventually do with their compact tractors. Buying Steiner and competing with ventrac is also a very smart move.

      That's really the key point. Once you have purchased one, parts support and serviceability are all you really care about. Even if they pull manufacturing in house which is their stated intention, that doesn't mean they can not also have a service agreement with Daedong for their older tractors. There is risk with Bobcat sure but also risk of Iseki leaving Massey or Yanmar leaving Deere.

      What redneck ed said. If KIOTI goes out of business that is the company that sales the tractor, hence no more support. If Bobcat stops selling tractors the company is still there for support and they are an equipment company that could still offer support. Unlike if Rural King got out of the tractor business.

    I would hope Doosan just tries to go the route of Agco or CNH and just goes with a common platform product so each one may be different but uses the same powertrain. With the tech today they could build 2 machines on the same line and they may only have 50% of the same parts or less . But Frames, Engines, Trans and axles are the same the specs and look and options are different.

      Don't be worried. I own a 1978 Dynahoe-190
      BUCYRUS-ERIE got out of the Construction equipment Manufacturer business in the mid 1980s. just stuck with mining. Now CAT owns them. I have investment stock with CAT. I can't get parts for my Dynahoe anymore. But you know what. I'v always found good equipment shops that have helped me. I can't even buy the Hydraulic filters for her anymore. There will always be someone who can help on your tractor. This guy is making this video because he is worried about his personal Tractor. I bought my Dynahoe in 2003 very long after the 80s, just take what people say on U-Tube with a grain of salt. Watch for something more than what is said here. Look at some of the FAKE commercials you get on U-Tube. Like the little plug in to your car ECU to save you gas. Just total BS.

    I have a 2021 CT4050. It is a nice tractor and have no serious complaints. Bobcat has had supply chain issues like every other manufacturer out there. Deere, Kubota and the others all source parts from around the globe. That is how the global economy works. I saw a story talking about a new Bobcat production facility in the south. Not sure if the future models will be different or not. It does not matter. I have a John Deere 1025R I purchased in 2020. The design of that tractor has undergone significant changes, and some parts/accessories are no longer made because of the design changes. Deere will support my 1025R to the extent possible. I believe Bobcat will do the same. I do not expect them to drop out of the compact tractor market again. Their competition with Kubota in the commercial equipment area will force them to stay in the tractor market to keep overall market share.

    Did Kubota make the L3301 obsolete with their new L3302?

    • @DKWalser
      @DKWalser Рік тому +1

      That's a horse of a different color. Or, if you prefer, you're comparing apples to oranges. Kubota made and stands behind their L3301 tractors. They will continue to make and supply replacement parts for the machines for a long time. In contrast, Bobcat does not make their current line of compact tractors. When their contract with Daedong ends, Bobcat owners will be at the mercy of Daedong for replacement parts. Even if Bobcat wants to, it won't be able to make parts for the tractors made by Daedong.
      Bobcat's contract may require Daedong to supply parts for a reasonable period after the contract ends. Daedong may choose to supply those parts for an even longer period. However, it is reasonable to wonder how much energy Daedong will expend on providing parts for their competitor's customers. Once Bobcat starts making their own tractors, what incentive would Daedong have to keep Bobcat customers happy? Kubota has an incentive to keep their current customers happy by supplying parts for orphaned tractors. Bobcat will have a similar incentive, but they will be dependent on Daedong to supply parts. Daedong will have no incentive to keep Bobcat customers happy (an unhappy Bobcat owner is a potential buyer of a new tractor from one of Daedong's brands).
      Would any of this keep me from buying a Bobcat? Probably not. But, if I were to buy a Bobcat I'd definitely take all of the above into account. If the price is close to the same, why take on this risk when a can just get a Kioti instead?
