Bajaj has launched the Dominar 250 in India. The Bajaj Dominar 250 is a quarterlitre version of the Dominar 400. Price of the Bajaj Dominar 250 in India is Rs 1.60 lakh (ex-showroom Pune). The bikes have begun reaching dealerships and bookings for the Bajaj Dominar 250 have already begun.
Powering the Bajaj Dominar 250 is the same 248cc single-cylinder motor that is found in the Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250 as well as the KTM 250 Duke. However, the engine on the Dominar 250 gets Bajaj’s trademarked DTS-i tech. Unlike the triple spark setup on the Dominar 400, the Bajaj Dominar 250 only gets a twin spark setup. The engine tune makes 27PS and 23.5Nm. It is a slightly lower tune to suit the power cruiser.
The Dominar 250 gets the same perimeter frame as the Dominar 400. The USD fork is a slimmer 37mm unit while the rear swingarm is a conventional box-type unit instead of an aluminium one like the Dominar 400. The Bajaj Dominar 250 also runs on skinnier cross-ply MRF Nylogrip Zapper tyres.

I always appreciated the D400 but never saw myself actually buying it....but D250 makes more sense to own then any other 250cc bike.

@@delorean9257 nope…i had to move to another country so havent ridden a motorcycle in years….but the D250 also feels like a let down due to its weight…I did ride the D400 for a short ride a couple of years ago and damn that felt heavy at lower speeds.
@@debasishgamango5849 I think it's more about the technique rather than the weight. Even a 100cc splendor feels heavy to a newbie. Im 5.5 feet, 56kg and im handling my Domi with ease . Yes it did feel heavy on the first day but after that , it doesn't bother . And the stability comfort and handling at any speed is god level .
@@delorean9257 yes weight should not be a factor actually as there are tons of bikes much heavier than Dominar. I was speaking from a personal point of view. I like lighter bikes because they are mostly agile even in lower speeds. The Dominar felt front heavy when taking u turns and in slow moving traffic. But it’s a breeze in highway speeds. I am more of a sedate rider even while touring.

Good power cruiser. Best fit for people who love weekends touring and city daily commute. The weight will be a blessing when you ride on the highways. It's planted like rock and the grund from behind will make you madly adore the massive machine.

Power to weight ratio is abysmal on dominar 250. Much better to go for dominar 400 or Husky 251!

if the 250 looked similar to the 390 people (390 owners) would be pissed !
btw i just booked my 2020 ktm390 and it should be delivered in a few weeks, if the 250 and 390 looked the same with the same tech i would be furious too !
@@suvrosarkar4419They both share the same body type even Duke 200 also gets same body design now from side or back no-one can easily differentiate (quick look) the only difference in headlight and console on the other hand Dominar 250 also have thin tyres, Box swing and no diamond cut alloy wheels.
When we consider paint scheme Dominar 250 also comes in different colour.
Duke 390 doesn't launched with quick shifter they recently added in BS6 update before that people were still interested in Duke 390.
You are getting more features in Duke 390 than Duke 250 because ktm Charging decent amount for that.
People should buy bike for their own satisfaction not for show off.

Now after 6 months BAJAJ launched DOMINAR 150 and after that DOMINAR 100 with GEAR SHIFT INDICATOR with platina comfortec Shocker and in 2021 Dominar 80cc gearless scooter and in 2022 DOMINAR electric only for kids👍

Lets weigh the pros :
Slipper clutch
Dual channel ABS
All LED headlight
Full digital instrument console
+50cc extra
And that's it. Is it worth the 40k extra 🤔 ?
Also spend 30k more, you get the d400 🤔, I feel the price to be on the higher side (now don't compare it with other 250 in the class and exclude the fz25 )

You are true, even I don't see any sense in buying 250. Spend 30k and go for 400 if you are into crusing.
I'm really disappointed in weight. D400 is too heavy for me, hence I took NS200. Now I thought of upgrading to D250. But the weight is dragging me down. So no for this.

One thing is specifically great about bajaj... they offer leg gaurd with bike .... bullet wale toh royal chutiyap bechte h... har chiz alag se lo.... kuch din baad tyre bhi alag se lene padenge...
Dominar 400 also doesnt get aluminium swingarm as per my memory. It has steel pressed gull wing type swingarm.
D250 has box type made of steel.

Have some homework before doing so called "walk around".. Atleast tell people what DTSi do. Also, Dominar UG 400 doesn't have aluminum swingarm. It has machine stamped Steel swingarm.

too much compromise to save 30k
D400 is better VFM bike
But u get more tech,wider tyre,beter swing arm, bigger brakes, bigger 43mm front suspension( D250 gets 37mm), machine cut alloy & 400cc with 40bhp for 30k extra money

1. USD Forks but no gear position Indicator..🤨
2. Should have 140 section tyres at the back
3. Bajaj should have updated 400 with a colour TFT Display & added Connectivity.

Now we need a reshoot of the 250cc bikes comparison. The last on was excellent, but will the baby Dominar be a game changer? And most important part, how does the high weight and lower power+smaller breaks translate in real world performance.
I have been waiting for this bike for a couple of months now and your review and comparisons will help in making a purchase decision.
Many of the videos skip this point... The 250 has 37 mm forks... Whereas the 400 has 43 mm... And this makes a lot of difference in performance as well as the demeaning looks!

It isn't that bad I have seen a couple of them cruising no problem..... We all think HP matters but the torque is really important and power cruising is very much possible and it looks the part has the weight so you can do then highways some justice and have fun along the way

They should have put this engine on the rs platform for an rs 250
Dominar 250 is like hybrid child of Pulsar Ns 200, ktm 250 and dominar 400.
Chasis, tyres, brakes taken from Ns 200, engine taken from ktm 250 and exhaust, usd, lights, turn indicators body panels carried from dominar 400.
Now u get dominar 250. 180kg for 27ps is too more.
One thing I can't get from Bajaj platina h gear gets gear position feature but you can't get it whole pulsar series now not dominar 250
D250 don't have gear indication??

Dominar 250 bcoz it more powerful and it has some advantages in touring & fz25 is not bad it's a value for money motorcycle Duke is about quality so you have to pay that premium

i too liked the bike but the weight is sort a con for me even though RE motorbikes are heavier than this and highway stability will be good as it will stay grounded because of the weight

I want bajaj to replace this engine in RS or NS model or on a completely a new platform. The major advantage will be weight reduction and cost reduction. I personally felt the NS is ergonomically better than d400 for most of the riders.Also the addition of USD forks can be avoided to save some more money. Since they offering 130section tyres , it appears skinny behind the dominar. The price gap doesn't fit perfect between the ns and d400
