Evaluated both and went ahead and booked a black Speed 400. Reasons: 1. That city tractability was unbelievably good compared to anything else in its class. The acceleration felt almost EV-like in the city, which is huge praise if you want to close gaps quickly in traffic. Guerrilla is up there too, but the Triumph was better for me. 2. Suspension- I hear what Rishaad is saying, and agree- but dialling preload up a couple of clicks on the rear helps settle it a bit more. Both sets of suspension are good, can't really go wrong with either. 3. Fuel tank and range- Triumph's marginally better mileage and larger tank helps during touring. 4. Looks- gotta say, I was quite smitten with the Guerrilla. Relegated this to a secondary requirement since both look quite nice in their own way. 5. Costs- Triumph was cheaper to buy, running costs in terms of spares, simplicity of the bike itself, tyre size availability etc seemed better. I agree, most reviewers don't say a negative word on RE at all. And Rishad def comes across as partial to them. Let's be fair quality isn't up to the mark, not practical when it rains, more practical tank and better fuel eff, and this bullshit "emotional character" ambiguous description or the "feel" which is based on the individual and really is fluff, even the sound description.
@@shanejacob9070 If RE's design and quality is that bad these days why do you think it sells in such large numbers in Western markets as well? Do you seriously believe all those who bought the bike overseas were just emotional RE fanboys? These aren't commuter bikes meant to take you from point A to point B at minimum expense, but motorcycles of "character" and "feel" that are integral parts of riding experience for an enthusiast.

I moved to a Duke 250 from a Dominar 400, and having driven it, my respect Rishad's acute observations has grown even more, right down to how the right side feels more heat on the Duke 250 (cooling fan is on the left side, but took me 3 months to figure out why, but Rishad picked that up in the review rides) . Great review like always man
Sir, with due respect when the bike doesn't start on 1st self start, kindly switch off the engine button then switch on it, pump will circulate oil again (Instructions are in manual). Then try to start. You are trying continuously (self start).
A very good video. You covered many points that others skip, and you don't get bogged down with theatrical over acting. Information and insight. Excellent.
People with shorter legs will have a problem with the guerrilla. The shin hitting the footpeg and that is not a good feeling . This issue is present in the interceptor too
I knew the winner before even I saw thumbnail. if these autocar guys gives a comparision review and if a royal field is in that comparison then there is no need to fully watch the video because result will be the royal Enfield turning out to be the winner. These fools if given chance may even say guerilla is better than Triumph scrambler 1200... Yeah I know we should love our country India is great and everything but shouldn't always white-wash indian products especially royal enfields .... reviews need to be unbiased ,it has to be honest because at the end trust of consumers i.e viewers are important and as fellow Indians we should be truthful to each other. And it is not a shame to praise foreign products if they are deserving to be praised. Actually newer royal enfields are completely inspired from triumph. It's sad and also funny when some fools say triumph thruxton copied continental GT ,when continental gt and interceptor are completely inspired from triumph Bonnevilles .. India is my country and I love India...
These days opinion doesn't matter. If reviewers think some bikes are better than others, they are entitled to have that opinion. Like u r. Don't judge people just because u have other opinion.
Is engine vibration a far less important aspect than the look and feel of the bike 😅😢…. And the major problem is the chassis failure…. Whatever clarifications RE provides the new chassis is not build like a Gun… for me I would say these two aspects are the main things I would check my boxes on a highway ride… And when it comes to city ride Triumph is the far more better tractable bike and better responsive bike…. Even after all these aspects RE was picked for just the feel …. So I’m starting to doubt is Feel of the bike far greater than the overall package?
For most people, look and feel matters the most. This is where RE excels. Just Look at their every bike, they're all about how they make people feel. It's a long game RE has been playing. moreover, in the digital age, this craze has been multiplied not just for the Bikes, but for all the materialistic things in the world people I want to possess in their life.
Yes but after buying a thing just for looks wouldnt the comfort go and is it a better trade off…. Also RE is best for their worst after sales maintenance by their showrooms…. So basically a not so good engine with a lot of vibrations and coupled with a bad after sales maintenance from the dealerships all these negatives can be blown away just for the look and feel ….. I mean the priorities of things have changed I think ….. because 2.5 to 2.75 lakhs for this motorcycle considering these flaws is not a cheap money when the bike hits onroad…. After all looks are just looks it’s has nothing to do with how it performs… RE is surviving on mere look delivering sun standard products to customers …. No offense but it’s time to tell RE to rectify their flaws and not just keep repeating them… because it’s money at stake
I did my first test ride for both the bikes , im a regular city commuter with occasional long rides in my calendar and i must say re changed my mind . I thought i would buy the triumph but man the street presence and the handling was too fgoodnto ignore . I am 5'4 and I decided to go with re
Evaluated both bikes and bought the speed 400. Primarily since the RE engines gets heated like anything and thermal mgmt is not great.. my entire leg was getting the heat. Triumph also gets heated but the thermal mgmt ensur s that the heat is limited to the feet area and not the full leg. Also, the refinement in speed 400 is unbeatable

Speed 400 has traction control - Guerrilla 450 has chunky tires Speed 400 has USD Forks - Guerrilla 450 has feel good Forks You guys definitely know how to mislead !!
There is no misleading. The conventional forks are from showa. And they work better in corners and higher speeds than the usd forks on speed 400. He said that clearly. He was in fact taking a subtle sarcasm on people who were cribbing about the conventional forks and immediately saying speed 400 will be better just because of USD forks. Well, it's not.
Royal Enfield is the OG 👑! Remember that brands like Triumph or Honda are giving you a motorcycle at a lower price only because of RE. When people were buying expensive foreign brand motorcycles, RE gave us very low priced bikes at excellent quality. Now all the competitors are coming down with lower prices. Kudos to RE!
With every motorcycle now RE has one competitor, my 650 is always a special bike since last 5 years and such a refined twin stands out the crowd with its twin exhaust, mind you those b2b traffic jams at 12 PM hot summer will definitely tire since with all these higher capacity engines which are not meant for city commutes
Thanks for a good comparison. Two points that you missed. Firstly the Triumph has a much better turning cycle, which combine with its lower weight make manoeuvrability much better at low speed, town work, where moving around obstacles is important. Secondly, the Triumph also has a stand alone rear light/brake light compared with the Guerrilla where those functions are built in to the rear indicators. Both bikes seem to have flimsy indicators, and seemingly, as you mentioned, prone to condensation/leakage. I think that the Triumph 400 Speed builds on the styling of the bigger Speed Twins, whereas the Guerrilla is a departure from the heritage of Royal Enfield, for better or for worse. I suspect we will see more Classic Versions, for both marks at this size in the future, to cater for the older person returning to motorbikes or downsizing to smaller Mid-Range Classics, which offer less weight, but not a huge drop in performance and with increased fuel economy. Thanks again.
RE has its design elements but I think tank design is the main issue for many riders. RE flat tank gives a slender look but gives the same feeling of splendor. Whereas Speed 400 has a beefier tank that gives a totally different feeling. RE looks more like a flat tracker than a roadster.
wonder what the cost for Guerrilla tyres would cost since the GT650 & intercepter tyres were over Rupee :15,000(pirelli) when it was launched.. Triumph A set cost from 7,000-24,000 (with & without offer) options from : Ceat, MRF,TVS eurogrip, pirelli, metzler, Michelin, Apollo, timsun each having 2 versions
RE offers soul... What others cant offer... So whatever u and people like u say about RE... U will see RE everywhere in the street, in every 1 out of 2 persons bucket list in india.. Despite lacking so called modern feautres😂
Nice comparison. I bought the Speed 400 after a test drive of 1 hour. Took the blue one because the red you can order but there is no delivery date. Blue in stock, black one month wait, red ...? This is in France Europe, don't know for other areas.
I Think after sales service, service intervals, service cost, reliability are also some major factors that buyers consider while buying a bike. So do include these points in ur next review and comparison videos along side engine specs and ride quality.
what one does better than the other isn't particularly done bad by the other. so if you had one, you wouldn't miss the other. it all comes down to brand preference, tbh, although that 11ltr tank on the RE Guerilla would be more prone to give anxiety much more often for those who keep checking their fuel gauges regularly. but then, 2 ltrs more on the triumph too isn't any significant advantage and that exactly is the point - it will most likely come down to brand preference for most.
In all fairness headlights of Triumph is much better than Guerilla.... My friend owns triumph and the other friend works in RE... Tested Guerilla in the night... Light is kinda poor... And the Guerilla vibrates don't kno if it's test ride bikes... Triumph is the overall winner here ... I'm 6 foot... So either is no good for me ... But anyone under 5'8... Triumph is simply the best
@@ashwinkumar2294Same name and same height lol. Bro what about the Scrambler 400? Wouldn't that suit us better? Talking completely from a height perspective of course. It has better structure for us tall people imo. What do you think?
Gureila 450 is Something like an wild animals with so much strength in it. The power is something amazing can make you reach the sky, awesome road presence... I fell in love with this.... But our roads are not something / bike rides are not such safe while you travel on such kind of beast.. If not that safe why do we need this for commute ? This is something Excellent in Engineering perspective, if you are trying it in circuits to feel the thrill with proper accessories excellent..
Was there a need for the Front-120, Rear-160 section tire on the Guerrilla? I have an XPulse whose Rear is120, RE could have reduced the tire width a bit for better fuel efficiency. Also instead of 160 they could have gone with a 150 rear since there are more options once the tire wears out.
I want to see RE Guerrilla 450 vs Triumph Scrambler 400 because Guerrilla is like a mini version of Himalayan so it should be compared with something similar that would be scrambler 400
9:44 Triumph can hold one or two gears higher than the Guerrilla?? Given that the RE 450 boasts greater torque at lower rpm, wouldn't it be expected to perform better in this situation?
The Triumph looks better in my opinion and I hate the digital Speedo on the Gurrilla, what were RE thinking ? the analogue speedo on the triumph looks so much better, tft displays on bikes make them look ugly and cheap while I'd prefer a pure analogue clock on the Triumph without the digital screen which I think would have been better if they kept separate without shoving it into the analogue clock but it's still far nicer to have an analogue clock that just looks good. In fact, the main reason I wouldn't buy the Guerrilla is due to the tft display but the triumph looks the best overall in my opinion but the main reason to get the triumph for me is the lovely looking analogue clock, a bike just doesn't look the same with analogue screen.
As an automotive expert guerilla ticks everything for a roadster. Suspension does better job and gem of engine sherpa 450 I am using it wonder it's launch of Himalayan. Breaks are class apart. Rest all features in both bikes are either modifiable or good and irrelevant for puree.
Enfield should have rethought the smaller seat. It looks very small considering if you’re travelling with a pillion, it will be cramped in both Enfield and triumph….
Guerrilla 450 top model cost almost same as Triumph Scrambler 400, so between these which is more city friendly bike ? Both are from different segment but still can we compare these as the pricing is similar.
Hello.. I,m little bit confused of buying Gorella 450 or trumph speed..... actually in speed 400 all is good but top speed is low, limiter hits very quick... X400 is far smooth than naya RE, though if road presence is criteria RE is better, x400 is sleek like a rx100 was and fit finish RE can’t match
Exactly, no competition.
Has Autocar ever given a verdict against a Royal Enfield? According to Rishad all their motorycles seem to be the best thing since sliced bread.
RE is being ridden not just in India these days, and even the reviews from Western markets seem favourable enough.
@@vineethg6259 It has legendary status
I agree, most reviewers don't say a negative word on RE at all. And Rishad def comes across as partial to them. Let's be fair quality isn't up to the mark, not practical when it rains, more practical tank and better fuel eff, and this bullshit "emotional character" ambiguous description or the "feel" which is based on the individual and really is fluff, even the sound description.
He isn't. Go look at his other reviews. This is the rare time he liked RE
We all know how good the speed 400 sounds and how good of a character it has.
Spain trip was really something.
Should've added similary priced Honda CB300R to the comparison aswell.
Yes!! I know it's just 300cc 35hp but the weight is around 150ish kg which makes it just as fast as these two if not more.
Ah nope, it can be as quick as these two, but not fast
It makes 30hp not 35, it's more of a rival to Duke 250 not these 400s
cb300r has been discontinued by honda
Watching Rishaad compare these two is quite appealing!
How this guy sticks to being accurate and not opposing to either of the two is just too good.
Triumph more refined engine and linear throttle response
Tripumh is best today i test drive of speed 400 it's mind blowing performance smoothie engine also i test drive of gurila noise engine unrefined etc speed is best💯

Thanks for mentioning about the distance between the seat and the footpegs ,many journalists miss this important point especially for taller riders
A very good video. You covered many points that others skip, and you don't get bogged down with theatrical over acting. Information and insight. Excellent.
People with shorter legs will have a problem with the guerrilla. The shin hitting the footpeg and that is not a good feeling . This issue is present in the interceptor too
Seriously bro!!!! Royal Enfield always wins on your comparisons 😂

Felt like RE commercial
It is RE commercial
Of course for Triumph fan boys
I think the fit and finish of the Triumph is better. No reviews can change that.
Watch Motorinc review of guerrilla. It's the most unbiased review I've seen of that bike.
6:33 For a roadster, that's more than enough. More then some of the wannabe Adventures !
Guerilla ❤
All i can see is practicality on triumph. Small tank, but higher capacity. Uglier back but best mud covering...

Perfect review ! The soft suspension on speed 400 is not as good as GRR450 on our roads , the looks of GRR better , performance is better ! For taller people speed looks puny , The only advantage of Speed 400 is fit and finish

In my country, the Guerilla would require a special motorcycle license. The Speed (less than 400CC) is ok with the regular motorcycle license.
Rishad is the best out of the three here.
Speed 400 has traction control - Guerrilla 450 has chunky tires
Speed 400 has USD Forks - Guerrilla 450 has feel good Forks
You guys definitely know how to mislead !!
@@AamirKhan-mg7buexactly many people don’t know that USD is just more stable in leans overall conventional forks do the job better
Yess..you are right
With every motorcycle now RE has one competitor, my 650 is always a special bike since last 5 years and such a refined twin stands out the crowd with its twin exhaust, mind you those b2b traffic jams at 12 PM hot summer will definitely tire since with all these higher capacity engines which are not meant for city commutes
Thank you for your impressions 🙌🏽
RE has its design elements but I think tank design is the main issue for many riders. RE flat tank gives a slender look but gives the same feeling of splendor. Whereas Speed 400 has a beefier tank that gives a totally different feeling.
RE looks more like a flat tracker than a roadster.
How else would you keep the screen on without mounting it on the handle bar? Should we put it in the pocket with screen on ?
Look forward to a Guerrilla 450 Long Term review sometime. Thanks

The gap between the headlight is for adjusting the light throw
How do either of the headlights perform? Nobody seems to be taking about them.

Guerrilla is a "roadster", not a scrambler. So the right comparison would be with Speed 400. I guess RE would come out with a Scrambler 450 later.
Don't go by the name ... The larger suspension travel makes it a scrambler @@vineethg6259
RE put the fat tyres just to make the bike appear big and more appealing to those who appreciate it. But lacks practicality.
Ideally speaking, these two bikes are going to impact Harley's x440 market here in India.
Irrespective of whether triumph is better than RE or not.
I want to see RE Guerrilla 450 vs Triumph Scrambler 400 because Guerrilla is like a mini version of Himalayan so it should be compared with something similar that would be scrambler 400
For a moment I thought this has been uploaded from RE youtube channel. 😂
Much needed video
Nice video. According to you, which is THE most fun to ride bike in the city? Best handling
Enjoyed that review. The Triumph is the better looking bike than the Royal Enfield by far, that's subjective, of course.
The video I have been waiting for
As an automotive expert guerilla ticks everything for a roadster.
Speed 400 service interval is 16000 kms vs 5000 km recommended for RE. I would pick Triumph over RE here...
Guerrilla 450 top model cost almost same as Triumph Scrambler 400, so between these which is more city friendly bike ? Both are from different segment but still can we compare these as the pricing is similar.
