Fantastic work! I would really like to see your set up of your swiveled carving table, maybe, you could share that with us sometime.

I just might do that. It is a Spencer Franklin Hydra clamp. I have two, one is mechanical the other is hydraulic. I found them on eBay. You can still get new ones but they are expensive. In my opinion they are the best on the market by far.

You are the first person to leave a comment regarding A S M R. I have a play list on my channel with 8 more. This is the only one that is getting views. If you watch any of the others please let me know what you think. I watch more A S M R than anything else. Thanks for the feedback.

@@ianswindell I watched all of them too! Probably the least thing I like about it is when you're using the machine to cut the outline of the wood. You don't have to take them out of the video, I just really prefer the sound of you chiseling and shaving the wood. Finally, I think you really have a nice voice and your accent accentuates it! You can definitely use that if you're pursuing the ASMR path so investing in a good boom mic/lapel (for voice over narration/better pick up of the sound of wood carving) will help your video gain a lot of ASMR enthusiasts! Hope you upload longer carving videos as I play them while I'm working. Cheers!

@@amielamoresportfolio9994 The A S M R videos have only carving in them. They are actually a byproduct from my carving videos, using all the footage from recording with the quiet bits cut out. I try now to get in as close as possible for the sound but as you say a good microphone would be worth looking into. Appreciate the feedback.

My goodness, your chisels must be razor sharp constantly. How many times do you sharpen them when carving this hard oak? And these 'round' ones look so hard to get sharpened...
Nice job altogether, loved watching it!

I get a bit fanatical about sharpening. You are right about the curved ones, the tighter the curve the harder they are to sharpen. Glad you enjoyed it.

I have just started wood carving and i cannot get my chisels anywhere near this sharp. Could you post a tutorial on getting gauges rasor sharp? Your stuff is beautiful!

Thank you. I will try and do a video on sharpening when I get chance. Sharpening is not difficult it's regrinding the edge while keeping it straight. The edge should be sharpened and polished on both sides. Don't give up you will get there in the end.

Thanks very much. It’s part of a fire surround with 9 carved panels.

Like something I would see at Highclere Castle?
I've seen plenty of linen fold panels at the castle

Thanks John. Just googled Highclere Castle, very impressive. You’ve probably seen more of this country than I have.

That really came out well! How long did it actually take? I don’t think people appreciate the effort it takes to make things by hand. They are spoiled by CNC machines and laser etchers.

It probably took about 3 or 4 days as it takes a while to get one side looking right, the other side is done in half the time. This is because I’m working from photos. Appreciate the feedback.
