I love how the ESFJ talks as though she's instructing preschoolers how to do arts and crafts. The passive aggressive tone just makes the video. Also, it's not surprising that she relates everything back to a party theme. "If you're not gifting, our friendship is drifting."

I had them memorized by 2000 population (California, Texas, New York, Florida, Illinois .....Vermont, DC, Wyoming) once, but haven't kept up with more recent censuses and the memory from back then is fuzzy.

As an INTJ who has been forced to be present for some parties by my ESTJ mother, we're either helpful so we don't have to socialise (but the loud environment and lots of people drain us pretty quickly) or vibing introvertly at the kids table. Though that is if we're genuinely forced to stay and cannot escape. My mum's 50th birthday party went on until about 3 am and I left with my ISFJ grandma around 9 pm after four hours of waiting for it to be over with earplugs in because I don't have a car and grandma was driving. My ideal image of a "party" is a quiet discussion of various sociopolitically-philosophical-environmental-literary topics at the library - if I somehow am sure that there won't be people making wild claims having done zero research and getting personally offended by constructive feedback. I would actually be more than happy to attend this kind of a party with once a week to once a month frequency. Still would probably be stressed out as hell about the first few.
PS: When I was a child, I kid you not, the most blissful parts of visiting any friends of my parents who had children was finding their room in terrible mess and being allowed to clean it up. It was amazing, I once spent half a birthday party of some girl reorganising the furniture in her dollhouse. My Se is miserably weak but the Si, inherited along with some OCD from my grandma, is thriving. Thanks for listening to my TED talk.

@@Vistlivia Yeah, I suppose you won't. I get being clever is most likely not on her OWN list of values and she probably finds clever people boring herself. But if she's ESFJ, she's most likely capable to get that other people might find it fascinating and valuable like you do. So asking you to come would most likely be a way to lure you yes, but in order to please others who would be interested in having you here cause your presence would be valued by them. ESFJs are people pleasers. But yeah, maybe she would personally prefer you could be different but still recognizes your value for other kinds of people. For this reason, maybe you see her intentions as more fake than they actually are. I mean, why else would she want you to be here other than because you're valuable for others and because you're still her child ?
Maybe you should try to ask her, just in case. And if you find clever people fascinating, that means other people might find it fascinating too anyway. No matter the answer, I'm sure she wants you to be here no matter what because you're still her child and she loves you, no matter if you both have very different personal interests.
