    This is not just in the Bible, in Islam using interest is not allowed either. This is because interest makes the poor, poorer and the rich, richer. So it is kinda evil.

      Because Dave is a Christian, and reads the Hebrew scriptures through the lens of Christianity, he does NOT properly understand the concept of "lending" mandated in the Torah.

      @@Peter-tr7gg I've tried responding three times, but it seems my comments - with links to a few articles - were deleted. Essentially Mr. Ramsey is incorrect about the concepts of "lending" money as delineated in the Hebrew scriptures as demonstrated by his analogy of 'borrowing a cup of sugar'. If an Israelite in biblical times borrowed money, they were expected to repay. It far more detailed than that of course.

    The Hebrew and Greek for borrow is not give. It is to lend. Lol. Read Deuteronomy. The point is lending. You should lend without expecting or demanding a return- but someone who borrows ought to pay back. The year of release would erase the debt.

    So I have a very fancy truck, ( don’t worry Dave it’s paid for I have zero debt not even my farm and rental house) and my neighbor has asked many times to borrow it. We do nice neighborly things I watch their dogs when they go on vaca and they check up on my animals when I’m out of town. But the guy’s truck has been in the shop for months and he’s putting more miles on my truck than I do. I love my neighbors but I’m not comfortable with this. I worry about liability if he were to be in a wreak. What would you advise. PS he fills the tank back up, but sometimes leaves mud on the mats. He’s a super nice helpful person so I feel bad saying no.

    • @regul8or71
      @regul8or71 Рік тому

      You could always politely mention that in the past you’ve noticed him returning the car dirtier, muddier than it was previously, and if he be sure to clean up any messes that he might make, that would be appreciated. Also, at the end of the day, you could simply tell him that, due to liability concerns, he have decided that you’re not going to lend your vehicle to people anymore.

And even if he doesn't bring it back , it's okay because if we love someone properly we have to forgive and forget not matter the circumstances.
