Garage Majal wreaks of super coolness. This blue-light special just adds to the mystique of your cool collection. What a model! Alfa Romero lives on in miniaturized perpetuity through the crafty model-building skills of your own hands. Thanks, Dale, for sharing this on UA-cam! -from Tom Pilling
These 1/8th scale were around, back in the day but in my wasted youth I could only look when I saw the price. You could tell when a new kit was at Franciscan Hobbies as the O.F.'s would gather round and the car guru would open the box as he was that "guy" with the budgets. Something about that size that gets one hooked. Well Done You. Greg and Jeanne.
I used to have an Airfix 1/12th scale 1930s Bentley, which I never finished and got lost in a house move, which I thought was detailed until I saw your Pocher collection! Wow.
Very cool. I'm working on the Rolls Royce Phantom II K72 model currently, and am going to be getting the 1935 Mercedes 500K K74 model. Looking forward to that one.
Can you tell me,if possible, how many hours in average, will it take to build this Alfa?I don't have any experience in assembling these kits but have some skill and a lot of courage to do it.Thank you
When you bought these models in the 1970s did you think you would still have them in 2018? We're you planning on building all of them or did you purposely leave a few in their original packaging?
I bought an Alfa Romeo Monza on Ebay for 500.00 but am wondering if it is a copy. It seems cheaper in construction from what I remember. For one, the one I just bought has no leather seats. It is a red plastic seat that is molded together with the section of the car body that the seat would be bolted to. I had one when I was a kid in the 70's and from what I remember it had leather seats. Can anyone fill me in on if there were some cheaper models of Alfa Monza that came into production?
JD Gorton hi. The spider has leather seats. The monza has the plastic seats. And the monza is open on the under side so you can see the back and bottom of the plastic seat just a bit bast the floor boards. Not great. The spider is cast in cream and dark blue. Better kit.
However that monza is still a great kit. I’m one of the ones I’ve dealt with all the trouble of building leather seats for it! A lot more trouble than it was worth I think. And my favorite version of painted the seats to look leather and they really look better. I also built a small extension on the floor boards under the seat to hide the underside as I really like looking at the bottom side of a car
Indeed! Rather interesting double overhead cam gear driven. Low mounted supercharger with some fairly elaborate cooling in the manifold as I’m sure the big blower generated a lot of heat!
Rather than complete all the Alphas ,You have several in different stages of completion. How about just building a 1/8 Alpha factory? A start to finish assembly area>
ian narita That was the great post Civil War sell off at Kmart! So many people were walking around with the Confederate money that they decided to open up Kmart for that boy did they make a killing!
Hi Ian. Listen again carefully to the video. Dale said he got these models at Kmart sell-outs in the 1970s. TOY MAN TELEVISION'S Dale and his wife Karyn both left you comical comments in response to your comment, but in all seriousness, Dale acquired these models at a huge savings from Kmart around 40 or so years ago. He explained this in more detail in one of his recent videos. -from Tom Pilling

You have to have crazy patients to do One of those models‼️
It seems so. Yet just diving in and soon it’s a car. If you want to eat an elephant do it over time one bite at a time.
Good on you mate!!! Please build them all and share with us on UA-cam. Cheers!
I have built several of them and plan to build many more. I need to cover that on the channel.
That looks very nice
Oh no! Not only a toy fan but an Alfa fan too!

They sold for $19.99 , $21.99 , $24.99 and $29.99 at K-Mart. The summer of 1976. I know because I still have mine.
Sad what happened to the DSNGRR with the flooding and washouts

the infamous "K Mart sell off" in the 1870's
I didn't know that K Mart was around in the 19th century! :=}
ian narita That was the great post Civil War sell off at Kmart! So many people were walking around with the Confederate money that they decided to open up Kmart for that boy did they make a killing!
