    Thanks for putting this series together. As a life long shooter who's always wanted to do long range but never had the budget to get into this side of marksmanship, this is a great jumping off point for me. The world of long range can feel like a deep end for many of us, with all the factors in the rifle world from caliber to scope configurations its overwhelming. Thanks for showing a great option and that it can be done for less the 10k for those wanting to get into this side of the house. Thanks again for the content and your knowledge.

    Ditto... Tikka barrels are a monster pain to get off! I also but a pre-fit proof research on my original 270 wsm, now 6.5 PRC. Shoots very very good with several different load applications, hunting or target. My action is in a carbon McMillan stock as it is a hunting rig, total weight with scope is right at 8lbs even. Keep up the vids bro! Solid work!

      @all_ontario_hunter it was a T3, I purchased it in 2010 when you could get a Tikka for 699$ on sale for 649$. The great part about Tikka actions are that they are the exact same for long or short action. The only difference is the magazine and the bolt release. If you remove the bolt release, which is super easy you will see that you can take a 1/4” off of it with a Dremel. Or or can buy a new one but why?!? This will allow the bolt to retract the added length for and long action or short action. I also purchased the long action magazines so I could load the 6.5 long with heavy projectiles... IE Berger EOL 156s. Overall a very simple project. I shot it last week produced sub 1/4 moa with hunting load. 143 ELDx. ZERO machine work had to be done with this project, well, minus a little dremel work on the bolt release, took all of 3 minutes. Hope this helps.

    No, I'm not talking shit. Genuine question. I've watched the whole series and can't figure out why you would buy a gun just to swap everything out instead of just building it from off the shelf parts.
    Also, vlog 5 is restricted and I can't comment on it but DUDE that competition shit looks fun!!
    I'm just not competitive. Beating you doesn't mean fuck all to me. But watching that video was like damn. There's some good training value in these matches

    • @velayo_0317
      @velayo_0317  3 роки тому

      Fair question.
      The idea was to show the diversity of a tikka action and what you could do with it for those who can initially just afford the rifle. I wanted to highlight the after market support for the Tikka action, as I’ve seen many other rifles come through my class that just stop right there at what they come with.
      Obviously I have several $10k custom set ups where I’ve hand selected all my parts.
