It would be so cool if there was an endless siege game mode and you have to hold off as long as you can. Maybe each wave is a different enemy army comp and gets bigger and more elite each time. After every wave you get points and use them to either purchase reinforcements, artillery, or more boulders or fire pots?
The only experience I have defending this castle was with a broken wall on the left side. Makes it very akward to defend, but the bridge above gives even more sight lines for the archers to fire of at the coming troops
Ive got so much better at siege defense since i started watching your videos dude. Only castle layout i have real trouble with when outnumbered is the imperial castle layout for Melion and Odrysa castle with tier 1 walls. Otherwise im pretty consistently creating a bloodbath for the enemy to stroll into lol. Keep it up 💚
There are mostly cookie cutter layouts for imperials I think there are three or four common cookie cutters and there's one of them I can't remember which one is called but it's very Tangled up and the two different locations the enemy bring these siege towers or ladders are very far apart from each other, these are extremely difficult castles to defend
I think it’s safe to say that you would have won that had the ram been destroyed. Also I noticed that the thrown fire pots seem to do more kills than when launched because of how crowded the enemy is at the walls. It might help to toss a few pots through the hole of the main gate rather than launching them from the onager.
Yeah he's not the only one that needs this. I'm struggling in more or less the same way. In fact it's usually easier for me to fight outside of the castle than in the castle, I mean not Sally out or anything like that, I mean attacking the sieging forces rather than being in the castle and defending it

Nice video as always. I wanted to apply this strategy (saw it in an older video) of keeping the troops inside and defending against a bigger force and I broke in a castle to help with the defense. I was a mercenary for Sturgia. To my surprise, at least if you are a mercenary (not sure if I were a vasal) you can't command any troops that aren't your own. And I was only with 9 companions. So I had to watch all those sturgia troops get decimated by fians and imperial archers. I was so curious to see if I could win that I tried multiple times. It took like 8 tries :(. It was very painful. I also didn't realize at that moment (just saw it in this video) that you can decide where you catapults go. And so, when the catapults would spawn on the wrong side I didn't have a chance. Only one configuration worked and I won on it the third time around, after destroying a siege tower and ram. And then, the ladders they assaulted were on the side with my catapult, where I had left over fire projectiles to kill a lot. (apparently the ladders they assault are on the opposite side of where the siege tower was, if there was only 1 siege tower. not sure what happens if there are two siege towers at the start).
This was such a tense battle! But in Siege defence I prefer to have a bow over throwables just becasue you can refill your ammo and it gives you the possibilty to still kill, while low on health. Have you ever considered doing "Saving you disaster battle" like LegendofTotalwar does for the total war games but wiht Bannerlord? So people can send you savegames with battles they cant beat and you try to win for them, I feel like this has nice potentioal for Bannerlord too.
I found if you do 1: 10 KDR than AI will flee. I was defending Taverin Castle 1100 vs 3800 destroid all 3 siege engines they manage to break into courtyard and they flee few minutes above 1: 10 KDR. 60 elite rangers was enought to sloughter everything.
He does have some videos showing tactics for that. Protect your left flank with either heavy cav in shield wall or with some terrain, as horse archers usually try to circle you on that side. If you can cause a traffic jam, your archers can fill them with arrows.
It itches in my mind that I cannot place where I heard that voice before. Were you an NC-DOT eve-FC like 10 years ago? I heard your voice before....somewhere.
Dude I don’t even know anymore I play on console it seems the AI always has a good strategy like attacking my weakest troops first prioritising my archers etc, even tho their semi protected with sheild and shock still have a small war band of 120 might be the problem? I try enfilade fire it seems they have triage xp aswel 😭
There may be a point where I am swapping files with you fellas but the last time I did this a guy took a save file and ran, never heard from him again. Hope I don't see a duplicate campaign running around somewhere - but it was an uncomfortable feeling. Someday, just not yet bud.

Yep sometimes that is the best option and of course if you must win you can always break in an auto resolve. You will usually win

I had a similar siege but in shibal zumr castle with like 40 veteran aserai infantry, 30 palace guard, 30 aserai veteran archers, 20 aserai faris

Every city or Castle has a unique layout of where the ladders siege Tower goes. Usually they are opposite one on the left and one on the right.
200+ sieges and I too just realized this catapult set up trick.
Javelins are fun do more damage but once I realized i can retrieve throwing axes from fallen enemies I haven't used javelins again.
