You have to wonder if Bernard overates the French a bit and underrate Irish sides. Last week he sounded like he was expecting a 70 point hammering.

Everybody, please stop with the "Big Joe" schtick. The guy is 22 . Give him some time to grow into his place in the Six Nations and stop putting this pressure on him. We did the same with James Ryan and I am not sure that worked out. We played a France that was below par. Yes, Ireland were excellent, but let's not get carried away as we have a tendency to do in Ireland. Glad we have left the World Cup disappointment behind, but the triumphalism I have seen in online comments since the weekend is embarrassing. As Farrell said we have won one match. If we win a grand slam then we can celebrate.
Weight as a measurement of power has to be the laziest concept in rugby. Its as stupid as thinking you can beat up a chimp because its only 40kg when the thing can tear the strongest mans arm off like it was a leg of chicken.
Ardi Savia is 100kg but he can bounce men much bigger than him. Kobe is 75kg but ive seen him bounce French back rows. Ethzebeth is 117kg and hardly ever loses a collision even if double hit. McCarthy might only be 120kg but he can move it like no other 120kg player.
There's loads of pro players whovare 140kg or over and at the top level, they look like thry couldn't gain a meter because its mostly puffed up weight.

Yeah. 120kg wouldn’t be even that heavy for a lock. Jason Jenkins for example is 125kg.
